It works well with all data file formats and is the industry standard for creating graphics for reports where I work. Cons It seemed unnecessarily difficult to learn how to use. Even with trainings and tutorials, my team did not pick it up quickly. It did not integrate well enough with our ever-changing data files as well. It helps in descriptive analysis,prescriptive analysis and some of predictive analysis. The visualizations which are provided are neat and clean and one can easliy play around with the visuals. It can handle large datapoints, wheres as some Analytics tools like PowerBI , aggregates the datapoints when they extend more then 10,000. The powerful visual in Tableau is the Forecast. Its uses Holtz Winter technique and thus takes into account trend and seasonality in the continous data. Forecast of tableau is powerful and more accurate then PowerBi and Qlikview. Integrating tableau with other connectors is easy. The only con is the cost, but in the long run its still comparable. The custom visuals of Tableau could be much better, as they are in Power BI. Pros 1)Ease in playing around with the visuals. 2) Forecast feature is the most powerful Cons Custom Visuals . Cost. Security issues while using Tableau online. Review Source LS Loise S. Pros The features are very detailed and advanced. It consolidates the data easily and the interface is clear. The self-learning training features help a lot. Cons It takes time to get used to all the features as it’s very detailed and can be quite confusing (not straightforward). Refresh does not happen quick. They are one of the best data visualization and analysis software currently available in the market. Quite reach functionality with ample amount of diagrams. Because of the ease of use, end user friendly interface and visualization capabilities, this product has stayed and the uses refused to give it up. Now it is part of our permanent solution. Very easy to use and get started and users can be up and running in a few hours. Allows drag and drop type functionality which makes it very easy. Has 100's of types of charts and graphs to view your data any way you want and makes display very attractive. Cons Collaboration is not built into the product.
