### "Tableau Dashboards"

June 21, 2022

5.0

It is a fantastic tool and helped every sales rep tremendously however, it is the one tool where if you want the execution needed, I would recommend working with a third party vendor for help.

Pros

Tableau is used for personal dashboards for each sales rep. It is the best way to capture all their macroeconomic statistics. All the clients, facilities, states they have visited and simultaneously, showing them all their results. Their net sales and % to quota. Essentially, the sales rep can view all their information in 1 dashboard and also share any information with other clients based on their historical performance.

Cons

The biggest downside with Tableau is that once you create the dashboards and want to make minimal changes, such as add a new user to the total dashboard, many changes need to be done, it is not simple to completely update the data webs behind the dashboards so that they update properly.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Tableau

### "Highly recommend"

August 18, 2023

5.0

Overall happy, and willing to keep using Tableau and learning more.

Pros

Tableau is an easy tool to use and learn. Depending on the complexity of data projects and reports, Tableau can be considered a flexible tool that can transform data into insightful charts. Its web blog and public catalog have a lot of help, ideas, examples, answers, and solutions to problems which proved to be very helpful on a lot of occasions.

Cons

The challenging part is that sometimes I get outcomes that are different from what is expected in terms of values. It is difficult and sometimes time-consuming to debug and understand how Tableau reached these values and errors.

### "Good BI Tool"

Tableau Online is a nice and good tool with some cons

Pros

Tableau is a very easy tool for the use of the creation of Dashborad for data visualization with different connectors, with the drag and drop option & with various functions it makes the job simpler

Cons

We are currently getting data for Tableau Online from DB via a Flow created in Tableau Online, if the flow fails we are not seeing exact error message why the flow is failed it just says Failed an Error occured, it will be good to have the exact error message displayed

### "Tableau Review"

December 6, 2022

3.0

We only have one license because of the cost. This means that only one user can edit reports, etc. This makes it very difficult as the user who runs the daily report isn't necessarily the user who we would want to create new reports or edit existing ones. More than one license is too expensive and working with a single license is annoying.

Pros

We use it mostly to create a daily report. Once it is setup, modifying the dated is simple enough to produce the same report daily.

Cons

It is very slow when trying to modify an existing report to add something new. Takes many minutes to load after each additional join. Takes a very long time to create new reports. Also, I would like to see the SQL that is being run in an easier way (currently can edit the log files and find it, but very annoying and difficult to find the queries in a text editor)

Alternatives considered

[Metabase](https://www.capterra.com/p/176651/Metabase/)

Reason for choosing Tableau

We are moving to use Metabase in the coming weeks due to the license issue and slow loading speeds in Tableau.

### "One of the best BI tools available in the market"

August 19, 2021

5.0

It was really good and helped in granular level analysis of data.

Pros

Tableau is one of the best business intelligence tools available in the market. The visual interface is really good and easy to use. The entire aspect of building dashboards with ease, setting up alerts is really good. The features available in desktop version are really good and caters to most of the requirements.

Cons

A few areas where Tableau can improve are: 1) Navigating between multiple sheets is sometimes a tedious process. Something can be done if a user wants to move multiple sheets here and there in the workbook. 2) Add more features to Tableau Explorer - a lot of features are available in Tableau Creator/desktop version which are important for creating dashboards. Those should be added to Online version as well 3) Integration with files stored in AWS S3 is not available right now - direct integration should be available.

### "The Best App for Data Analysis and Visualization"

September 10, 2022

5.0

Pros

Tableau allows users to transform data, thinking and ideas to the visually appealing dashboards. It is easy to use because of drag and drop feature. It is very innovative when it comes to maps and using different geological datas to display over the globe.

Cons

The app is almost flawless. It has one minor problem that I found it sometimes irritating. When using excel spreadsheet and opening data from it, the data updated on excel sheet sometimes does not sync in with tableau.

I have used Tableau for a number of years and do trust it's results and functionality, if it was a little quicker and instantaneous it would be a dream. Overall very satisfied

Pros

Cons

It is very slow to load reports, especially when result is required as matter of urgency, and the lack of live data

### "Tableau is Fantastic for Shippers"

May 8, 2024

4.0

Overall I’ve really enjoyed the program. It puts data into visuals that we can then share with our carriers. We have the ability to use it for inside information or carrier facing information.

Pros

As a shipper who is always looking for solid carriers this program provides unique visuals that we can show our carriers. A lot of carriers are used to just seeing the data in an Excel format, so having the visuals elevated their experience with us.

Cons

Tableau can be a little tedious and has a less intuitive program than other systems. Once you overcome the learning curve it is a great system.

### "Tableau- Excellent for analyzing data and making decisions"

June 9, 2022

5.0

Tableau is one of the best reporting tools I have used to analyze large amounts of data, it is popular in data industry BI and analytics platforms. Its ability to manage large amounts of data and display it in the simplest way has had a good adoption in the last years.

Pros

Tableau is an easy-to-use, scalable data analytics solution that interfaces with a variety of applications to extract insights from data. Databases can be easily evaluated as it provides graphs for better understanding and success with E2E data blending, data preparation, data modeling, data visualization and data distribution. In my company we use it to analyze large databases and generate possible predictions in decision making, Its learning curve is average, and it supports a wide range of visualizations, such as tables, graphs, among others, importing data is simple when using Excel. To transfer information.

Cons

the only thing I don't like about tableau is that it is too expensive for small business users.

### "Tableau Through My Eyes"

June 6, 2023

5.0

Pros

The wide range of chart types, maps, and graphs allows me to present complex information in a visually appealing and understandable way. The intuitive drag-and-drop interface empowers me to create stunning visualizations without needing to rely on extensive coding or technical expertise. One standout feature of Tableau is its interactive dashboards. I can consolidate multiple visualizations and key metrics into a single, dynamic view. Being able to explore and interact with the data directly on the dashboard, applying filters, and drilling down into specific details, provides me with a comprehensive understanding of trends and patterns. The level of interactivity offered by Tableau truly engages my curiosity and helps me uncover insights that would have otherwise remained hidden.

Cons

While Tableau offers an array of powerful features, there is a slight learning curve involved in mastering its advanced functionalities. As a beginner, I found myself needing to invest time in understanding the intricacies of certain features, such as statistical analysis and forecasting. Although Tableau provides resources and a supportive community, a more user-friendly onboarding experience or interactive tutorials would have been beneficial.

### "Tableau user experience"

August 26, 2022

5.0

Tableau should be used by the people who needs to present the data in the forms of the charts. But if you need more business intelligence features Tableau is not the right product.

Pros

Tableau is very easy to use. Visualizations can be created without much effort. Dashboard design is also easy.

Cons

Data modeling cannot be done using Tableau. Conditional blocks, repeater tables etc cannot be done using tableau.

### "I can see our status on multiple fronts so clearly!!"

December 27, 2023

5.0

Love it's capabilities. Wish it was easier for me to manipulate. I have to rely on a couple team members who are way more experienced in it than I am to create anything new.

Pros

Great visualization capabilities helps me see how I am doing compared to this year's goals on multiple objectives and how we are doing year over year...without having to manipulate the raw data on my own. Being able to have Tableau refresh the data source with the most recent info each time I open the dashboard is so important!

Cons

Takes awhile and a lot of practice to understand how to set up the worksheets so they answer the questions you are looking to answer. Dashboards are more so.

### "Tableau is the Industry Standard for Data Visualization"

October 26, 2017

5.0

Streamlined our reporting - provided informative dashboards to our executive team and staff.

Pros

I use tableau as an analyst every day and I like the ability to create rich visualizations from different kinds of datasets. If you are of a creative and problem solving mindset there is almost a limitless set of complex Vizzes that you can design using Tableau.

Cons

I think Tableau can be less than intuitive. While there is almost unlimited capabilty, often it's difficult to immediately understand what is required to solve your problem. It's good however that there is a huge customer base and forums that can help you. It's often better to solve your problems in the database rather than with Tableau. Use it as the Viz layer as much as you can and try to limit usage of it in doing calculations, especially with big datasets. Performance can degrade. In the dashboard design there should be a little bit more finetuning of the interface. Can't copy/paste items which would be a nice feature. Customer support staff are extremely professional and friendly - if you can get a hold of them. Tableau support has fallen away recently I have found.

### "Tableau in my working life"

June 30, 2022

5.0

I generally like the new way in which the data is presented, the visualizers are very interesting when presenting and presenting the statistical analyses. All tools seem to me appropriate and I recommend their use for professional life

Pros

what I like most is the way the data is exposed, all types of visualizers are more interactive and viewers can edit the data in many ways to analyze them

Cons

I don’t like it to be expensive to get all the tools, yet it’s worth paying the subscription

Cons

### "Tableau is my go-to tools for quick, nicely looking dashboards and data visualization"

April 26, 2018

5.0

I get real-time data visualization from Tableau Software and a platform for posting cool and useful data visualizations without having to purchase a server.

Pros

Tableau is the software I use most (outside of Excel). The software's visualization tools are nice, at times amazing. Tableau connects with every data source I've ever needed (with the exception of one problem). The interactive capabilities and Tableau Public make for a perfect fit for a beginner to intermediate data visualizer. Advanced data visualizers probably find the functionality somewhat constraining, but that's one of the benefits of the software. Tableau is more than just a supped-up Excel graphics system. The analytical capabilities, although not best in class, offer all the basic calculations that most users will ever need.

Cons

Tableau is limited in its analytical capabilities. Tableau is working on making its use of R script more user friendly, although this requires the user to know R. Tableau's graphs are also somewhat limited at times, and Tableau for some reason takes pride in limiting its options (it apparently knows better than the user on what graphs are useful).

### "Opened up a whole new world with data we already had"

August 3, 2023

5.0

Pros

it was logical and followed simple rules for extracting data. The logic-based filters allowed me to hone in on exactly which pieces of data I needed for analysis.

Cons

like anything, there was a learning curve. It is expensive and therefore not everyone had a license. it created a difficult time when certain people would use the tool and get to a point where they needed outside collaboration, but the other person did not have Tableau and therefore could not help.

The data will be easier for professionals to organize and this because as a client the data and actions will be recorded to be able to attend as professionals to the requirements of that client thanks to its complete visualization of data

Pros

This is a tool associated with salesforce that in general allows more complete visualizations, allows much more accurate analysis to create more efficient and successful commercial campaigns, this tool is designed with intelligent functions and analysis capabilities in less time, to develop projects inspired by response to customer requests

Cons

I have no problems with the development or execution of this tool, it has worked quite well for me since the first time I used it

Overall tableau is best tool for visualization and reporting. It's easy to learn and lot's of tutorials available in the internet. Tableau is easily connect with the different type of dataset. Tableau provides lots of charts for the visualization.

### "On the fly BI tool with rich visualizations and Dashboard features"

March 21, 2019

4.0

We used Tableau for Visualization BI apart from having Business Objects for reporting. We have created a story for a given subject with all the related information to present to the user. It gives a quick glance on what is happening on the sales of drug for a pharma company that I worked. Migration from non-prod to prod is very easy (unlike other BI tools). Cost of the project reduces a lot with Tableau for BI projects

Pros

Tableau has changed the BI world a lot. It has brought in a software, using with business user can create dashboard & reports on the fly and can check what is there inside. It allows the user to read through the data and derive the insights without much technical analysis. First it can connect to any database (I know about 44 database it connects) and you can set the data, slice the data needed for current analysis and then you can do quick reporting. It provide multiple features, like different charts, graphs and tables and mathematical and statistical functions for analysis. Once you have create multiple visuals you can put them onto one dashboard or multiple dashboards into a story and present the same to business

Cons

Even though it has rich features but it can support the Enterprise BI needs like business object or Cognos does. It does not provide all the feature for E L T (extraction, load and transform) which requires complex transactions. As data gets huge the graphs and charts become unreadable. also, this software is more useful to the business user for personal purpose than company wide reporting etc. The administration part of it needs a lot.
