### "Tableau provides a good visualization platform for users with user friendly functionalities"

August 7, 2018

5.0

Pros

The overall customer support of tableau is really amazing. If one gets stuck in a functionality, there are plenty of resources to get a quick and easily implementable solutions for instance tableau communities on google as well as you tube videos. This software has brought a positive change in the field of data visualization and for taking quick business decisions.

Cons

Despite of having many visual solutions, the server space provided by tableau has very limited options and some data refresh issues. There are some usual bugs which need improvement. For instance, if one wants to see the tableau dashboards using different screen resolutions "its doesn't seem possible". There is no automatic way by which it could detect the screen resolution of the system and adjust accordingly.

### "Excellent Reporting Tool for Analytics and Senior Executives"

July 29, 2022

5.0

Overall it is an excellent reporting tool with loads of features. It is well equipped to support analytics and reporting for senior executives.

Pros

The Dashboard visualizations and the ease in which it connects to different databases is excellent. It is loaded with lot of features and continuously improving on that. The fact that it can support extracts - tde is very good.

Cons

In my view the connection stability needs to be improved and it should also have the feature to connect to other reporting tools and build dashboards from it. The Tableau prep tool also needs lot of enhancement.

It is one of the grate tool that is saving my bunch of time. I can utilize more timings to make attractive visualizations rather than spending time in Organizing and Cleaning of data, It has everything like calculations, Maps, Filters and lot more very cool functions.

Pros

So Easy to Clean and Reorganize data , data cleaning takes forever via database or Excel, Tableau makes it easy to load and clean before its ready for analysis

Cons

Takes to much time at first load or update large amount of data. Once it load successfully then you are good to go

### "Tableau : Un logiciel parmi tant d'autres "

November 29, 2023

4.0

Pros

### "Tableau "

November 28, 2023

5.0

Pros

Overall I like the customization of reports & possible ways to visualize the data. Love that there is a strong community on the internet within Tableau help forum. I like that you can do most things on Tableau Online version, however, there are a couple of things that can only be done on desktop.

Cons

Sometimes same features are placed differently in desktop vs online version & that makes using the product a bit more confusing.

### "Tableau for manufacturing analytics"

September 2, 2022

5.0

Tableau as a proof of concept for creating visualizations is unparalleled. It is much better and user friendly than PowerBI

Pros

The ease with which you can connect to databases was the most impressive. Irrespective of the amount of data, Tableau was very stable in performance.

Cons

Dates were handled poorly. There were issues when using calculation fields involving dates and the formatting of dates was sometimes mismatched causing a lot of issues in calculations.

### "One of the best Data Visualization softwares in the market!"

October 28, 2022

5.0

Tableau is one of the most popular data visualization softwares in the market, which a high demand in the job market as well. For students, one of the best things is that they can download it for free by signing up by their student email id.

Pros

Tableau provides features like interactive and colorful dashboards, which make data visualization super appealing and easy to interpret. The learning curve for the basic features of the software for new users is not very high, and navigating through the software is smooth. It can generate statistical analysis plots of different kinds within minutes of loading the data. Different sheets can be compiled into one dashboard, which can also be interactive. These dashboards can be shared online, or as images to be sent via email.

Cons

Though the basics of Tableau can be learned very easily, to make the best use of the software, the user must have in depth knowledge, which can be a little tiresome. Other than that, it is a very great software and can be utilized to get statistical representations.

### "Great for dashboards, but training is required"

December 5, 2019

4.0

I generally use tableau to show sales data on dashboards to executives. Overall experience is great now that I have enough skill to operate and manipulate the data to generate what I want.

Pros

I like that you can merge different data sources to generate new views of data. for example, overlay a census report above your sales data and have a demographic profile of sales for the country. Also the hundred different graphs and charts to choose from. this scores me high points with the executives when I show them a fancy graphic in meetings.

Cons

We had some trouble with tableau speaking to our servers and applications which took longer that we wanted before we could start using live data to run reports. You must clean your data before you upload to tableau. the data scrubbing system on tableau needs work. This makes it difficult when using live data. I usually just use and extract, clean and upload.

### "Looks nice, but not so compelling for the cost or against the market"

April 20, 2022

3.0

Tableau is highly popular so I feel quite a contrarian in saying I wasn't overly enamoured with Tableau. For me, it was the frustration of feature differences in the desktop and web clients, the rapid nature at which its releases go out of support, and that - for us, at least - I didn't see the value for its price over other products.

Pros

Tableau offers a lot of rich functionality for designing visualisations and dashboards. There is a lot of power in the product.

Cons

There isn't feature parity across the desktop, web, and mobile versions. For instance, in the edition we have the web client doesn't allow us to view data sources to see the underlying query or to edit them. We need to use the desktop client. However, the desktop client no longer logs in - the login screen simply gives a blank screen. We asked Tableau support who simply said they couldn't provide any support for that version of Tableau Server as it was more than six months old and that we needed to upgrade before they'd help. However, this was during the log4j issue and Tableau disabled their downloads so we were stuck. I also find Tableau expensive when compared to the opposition. Microsoft has been clever in its pricing of Power BI for people who already have Office 365, for example, and you need to really ask yourself what Tableau features are so compelling that you'd pay so much more for it.

### "Great BI Tool"

March 9, 2021

5.0

Love the product, great for Ad-Hoc presentations and digging into historical data.

Pros

I really like how easy it is to try visualizing data in different ways. Going into an analysis I don't always know the best way to present my data, so being able to try different things so easily makes my analysis a lot easier.

Cons

Formatting visualizations is not easy to understand. Clunky UI for formatting. Somewhat difficult to figure out what exactly is being changed by different options.

### "Tableau - Data Visualization Buddy"

June 14, 2023

5.0

Overall Tableau is my friend, when it comes to Data Visualization. All my Data Visualization needs are met by Tableau allowing me to create excellent Dashboards and visual reports.

Pros

The biggest Pro of using Tableau is that it allows for easy enablement of connecting our Data to the software. The User Interface is also highly user friendly. Enables you to build dashboards easily. All of this makes it comfortable for anyone without experience with the software/user interface to learn it quickly.

Cons

The only issue or a feature that I wish Tableau improved is their Data Preprocessing. I always had to use other methods to get the data preprocessed then feed it into Tableau.

### "Great for data visualization"

Pros

I love how our team has set up Tableau to visualize our data. I'm a retail associate with minimal analytics background, and Tableau makes it easy to see our business results at a glance. It's also intuitive and interactive; I can dig into things easily and love the click-able features

Cons

I wish the pages would have a longer period before an auto refresh. Sometimes i'll set up a page the way that I want, move to another report for a little bit, and come back to find the page auto-refreshd and my progress gone.

### "Tableau- Make Your Business more Intelligent"

June 6, 2023

My overall experience with Tableau is very good. It helps me a lot to make dashboards and visualizations.

Pros

I find out visualization very easy with Tableau software also it is one year free for a student so that helps me understand and learn all its features. It also helps me save time for other important tasks.

Cons

Recognizing data types is a little bit messy for me sometimes as every data point is either continuous or discrete but most of the time it considers all those data points as objects. other than that Its pricing is a little bit high for an average guy like me.

### "The best app to analyze data and effectively communicate the insights to non-technical audience"

October 9, 2021

5.0

My experience has been great and it's my most used software in terms of building visualizations!

Pros

The most I like about this software is the fact there is a range of data sources like databases, CSV files, etc to input data to the tableau software and then the various visualization capabilities the software provides like color, size, and shape, etc. The possibility of creating new calculated fields through which new columns could be created from the existing data columns after inputting into the tableau and additional functionality like drill down. The capability of visualizing time series data is a great feature of Tableau as well.

Cons

The least I like about this software is that it needs an activation key for use after the specific free trial period else it's paid. Probably the fact that the payment needs to be done is what I like the least about this software.

### "All data in one place"

May 31, 2022

5.0

Tableau is a powerful tool for data analysis, it unifies data from different sources for a better view of the information and thus being able to make decisions that best suit the projects, it works very well with other platforms such as Salesforce.

Pros

I like Tableau for its user interface, it's easy to use. You can quickly visualize large amounts of data and connect to a variety of data sources, including Excel, text, and Google Drive files. One thing I'd like to point out is that data visualization is simple: simply drag and drop dimensions and metrics onto different templates to see your data come to life in colorful and impressive charts of all shapes and sizes. Dashboard visualizations look well organized.

Cons

what I don't like is that the license is somewhat expensive for the work it does.

### "Best data visualization tool out there"

December 29, 2023

4.0

Pros

The fact that Tableau supports practically all connectors, including Teradata, Bigquery, Salesforce, SAP, Snowflake, and others, is one of its finest features. Furthermore, it can produce and support a wide variety of chart kinds, such as pie, donut, map, and Sankey charts. I am capable of creating engrossing dashboards that tell tales to inspire my audience.

Cons

Tableau can be costly for individual users or small enterprises due to the high licensing prices associated with Tableau Desktop.

### "All-In-One application for you company needs..."

November 5, 2019

5.0

I've worked with many different computer languages and applications over the past 30 years, and I wish this application had been there from the beginning. The need to understand every field's settings (e.g. numberic versus text, etc) is now no longer a problem. Also the ease of creating dashboards that are legible and concise is amazing! Plus, the online community is only a few keystrokes away to helping resove any challenges. In a nutshell, this application works!

Pros

Seamlessly aggregate data from various data sets into one database. An application for both the programmer and the non-programmers. Excellent pain-free dashboards!

Cons

Initial logic for connecting data sources into properly filtered data was a little bit of a learning curve, but not too difficult.

### "Intimidating for amateurs but incredibly useful"

November 16, 2023

5.0

I used it first as a user viewing data in a retail environment. Reports were easy to keep updated and the data viewing choices meant different managers were able to customize the look of their data. Now I have used it creating reports for myself. I enjoy using it more than salesforce reports as I get that extra level of customization and think that it simply looks better.

Pros

The customization of your dashboards is unparalleled. The tools to get started help anyone, even those with basic or no sql skills to be able to put together basic reports. No better solution in my opinion for being a hub for KPI tracking across a company.

Cons

The learning curve is steep. Imported data needs to be clean or you are going to struggle with larger datasets but that is true of all data visualization tool.

### "Helps in Constructing complex analytical dashboards with different visualisation methods"

May 9, 2021

4.0

With tableau There is no limit to the depth and complexity with which we can analyses the data, i meant to say it is so flexible, with good expertises we can build any type of dashboard

Pros

Tableau is a great tool for constructing complex analytical dashboards, any level of complexity is possible in this tool, it can read input data from many sources, starting from plain file systems such as XL, CSV.. to complex databases such as snowflake, mysql.. We can join or write custom queries to build the source data, to construct dashboard we go with dimension-metrics approach, hear we can write exuberant number of calculations and computations to create a calculated fields, and that in-turn can be used for dashboard creation, the basic module is a worksheet and multiple worksheet can be put to gather to form a Dashboard, here we can add any kind of advanced interactive filters for the dashboard which will filter the source data , we construct these on a desktop application and we have to push the to the server to host this dashboard, the server tracks of the number of views , access control, refresh extract scheduling etc..

Cons

When we develop a complex & heavy dashboard with extract data enabled, then it takes lot of time to load on the tableau desktop, to pull it from the server some times it never opens, have to retry many times and to push from the desktop to server also takes time, i think it pushes the local extracted datas along with the tableau files

### "Tableau review"

October 29, 2019

Overall, Tableau does a great job providing data for you to use for quarterly reviews for customers. It's easy to transfer the information to presentations.

Pros

This software is great for pulling data when looking at sales. It allows you to see year to date and month to year. Depending on how the dashboard is organized, it is easy to navigate and does a great job showing visuals with the data.

Cons

With a lot of data it can be hard to set up exactly how you need to view the data. We have changed the look on our dashboards to make it easier to navigate. However, breaking down products to be able to sort them into different categories can be difficult.
