Overall a great platform/company. We will be willing to advocate for them anyday. Pros It’s makes donations in crypto easy and simple for both the donors and nonprofits. We recommend more nonprofits sign up to this platform and open up their funding stream. Cons Nothing yet. It’s all good so far, they seem to be always adding new cryptos and listens to the community. Always very generous with their support and encouragement which has been really helpful as I venture into this new revenue stream. In particular, the advice they provided about the page set-up etc, it really has been notably better than other plugins. Pros The software makes it easy for new donors to donate crypto on their own schedule and it also allows the donors to remain anonymous which is an appealing element for this community. Cons The vast majority of it was very easy, the hardest part was getting the details required for the Gemini bank account. Everything else was like the classic web plug-in. Nonprofit Outreach Coordinator Non-Profit Organization Management Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Promised a lot, delivered nothing" September 6, 2022 2.0 We joined TGB because we wanted their help to connect with socially-minded crypto investors and to get our message out to them. The only thing TGB wanted was for TGB to connect with any crypto investors we already had, so that those donors would become incorporated into the TGB system. Not to help us expand our audience. Since we didn't already have any crypto investors (our donor demographic is older, rural and not tech savvy) TGB has been of no help at all. Pros We like the concept - working together to reach a wider community of crypto investors with non-profit donation opportunities. Cons TGB sales agents promised returns (via our share of donations made to causes and general funds) that would easily cover our cost of participation ($2500/year). "You'll see way more than what it costs you!" they repeatedly said. Yet our "share" has turned out to be less than half our annual cost. TGB did not provide any donor information or any way for us to follow up with donors. Their campaigns were only focused on bringing crypto investors that we already knew into TGB. There was never any interest or effort on introducing our nonprofit to the crypto audience they already knew about. We got nothing for our membership except a profile page on their platform. We even made efforts to use a more descriptive title as our header on that page, but were refused any changes beyond the official tax identity of the organization. They promised monthly reports of activity in the :special interest funds that we were entitled to share (our non=profit was part of their "environmental" fund) but they never reported a thing. Nothing on our account dashboard showed the fund activity. No transparency at all. When we inquired why there were continued months with no activity, they replied that data hadn't been processed yet. Reason for choosing The Giving Block Our fundraising committee folks were misled by the optimistic promises TGB sales people made about expected returns we'd get from shared fund donations. Donors have been able to give their crypto to our organization with ease. Before 2020, I didn’t know much about cryptocurrency. As a nonprofit CEO, I look at the dollars sitting in our bank account every day, so I constantly think about how to raise more dollars. The thought of raising crypto felt so abstract, like trying to find Monopoly money in the dark. It just didn’t feel real, and I was more than a bit skeptical. But then our Development and Communications Manager persistently advocated for us to accept crypto like Bitcoin with The Giving Block. The Giving Block invited us to be a beneficiary of its spring campaigns. Soon after, $42,335 USD, converted from cryptocurrency, hit our bank account! That completely changed my view on the power of crypto donations. Cons It's hard to predict what the flow of cryptocurrency revenue will be, as donations are usually tied to one-off bigger special events. August 11, 2021 3.0 The Giving Block allows me the opportunity to quickly and securely donate to nonprofits in need. It has a great reputation in the crypto community! Pros I think the website layout is simple and clean. I think it's a great, comprehensive database of a number of different nonprofits in need of funding. I really enjoy how you can click on the name of each nonprofit and you are given a short description of what its work is focused on. Cons Nothing! I think it's a great website providing a great service: giving crypto enthusiasts and investors a way to share some of their profits with the nonprofit world. " April 6, 2022 5.0 Like many others, I am fairly new to the world of cryptocurrency. After doing my own research via social media, podcasts, and videos, I decided to give The Giving Block a try and what a fantastic decision that was. Their hand holding throughout the onboarding process has been amazing. They've been able to answer all my questions. Cryptocurrency is the newest donation avenue for non-profits to be able to accept. At the time of this review, The Giving Block accepts over 75 different tokens with more on the way! I truly believe this is where the future of donations is headed and I am happy to be on this train. Pros The biggest pro, in my opinion, was the support of the team. They were extremely helpful in the whole setup process and put up with all of the questions that I peppered them with. They allow me to be able to sit back and not deal with the payment processing side, which helps free up my time to focus on my non-profit. Helps us connect with cryptocurrency community" January 28, 2021 5.0 The Giving Block pro-actively reached out to us to introduce us to their product. We had been considering accepting cryptocurrency donations in the past, but had run into some administrative roadblocks. The Giving Block team helped us jump through those hoops and led us on a clear path to accepting crypto donations quickly and seamlessly. The widget product was simple to add to our site and has generated donations since we implemented it. They have also helped raise our profile with a whole new audience so that we can be included in crypto giving campaigns. Having a trusted partner to help introduce us to the crypto donor community and navigate the back-end functionality has been so great. Without them, we might not have connected with a whole audience of donors interested in supporting our work via crypto giving.
