Owner Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Functional, Fast, Flexible and Free" June 10, 2022 4.0 I use DataStudio everyday to setup and maintain ad campaign performance dashboards and reports. I also schedule automated reports on a weekly or monthly basis. Pros It has most of the functionalities you need to create detailed, impactful dashboards and reports. Extremely easy to setup. Start from an existing template you like (even other people's tempkates) Copy. Add your own data sources and you're good to go. Extremely flexible if you add Google sheets as an interim step in your data feed. Do the complex manipulations that the tool cannot manage in Sheets and then use the Sheets tables as data source. But you can still do lots of data manipulation inside the tool via built in formulas. All of the above - for free. Cons Some useful data calculation formulas are missing. Like using calculated fields in formulas. Because of this you can for example not do moving averages calculations in the tool itself, which can be annoying. It is the perfect fit for our agency and am so glad we made the switch! Pros It is very user-friendly and the perfect data visualization tool. It connects data from multiple channels into one cohesive report. Highly recommend! Cons As a data-nerd, I love to incorporate a lot of charts, however there is a limit per page that I seem to hit rather often. DataStudio is so robust, that I would love if it could increase the amount of data available per page. Paid tools are faster, have more features and can be a bit more reliable. But due to the fact looker studio is a free to use tool, you can't complain. Pros It's free and has a lot of functions. For most purposes it's the best tool available. It's easy to use and it's very flexible. Cons Datablending (joining multiple data sets) is tricky and doesn't always fulfill the needs. Datastudio is also a bit slow and reports can't always be downloaded as a PDF when you have a lot of data in it. Pros Google Data Studio is an excellent tool for analysis. In our company we use this tool as a great support for our analysis and trends. From the creation of our dashboards we can transparently show the results obtained with campaigns and actions for our customers. I understand that our key point would be the cost, which is not high and customizable dashboards for every need. Cons Perhaps a deficiency is the difficulty for large customizations, I see a limitation in this issue. But from my point of view, it's just a charm that doesn't add much to the final result. Cons A couple of months ago they began to limit requests with bigquery, so the dasboards are failing since. If they show a lot of data and that prevents making many requests. What I think is that they are preparing for a paid version. Reason for choosing Data Studio My company has partnerships with google for education, in this platform we have the data of our clients and having a native connection with bigquery does not need a lot of work or implementation.
