Snagit allows capturing scrolling windows that reduced the efforts by 90% or more. I also use Snagit for small photo editing or adding text etc. on the screenshot which is very easy. Pros Snagit is quick, easy to use and provides a wealth of features over the built in Windows snipping tool that I had previously been using.Snagit proved to be very easy to deploy within our business and has aided greatly in creating standard operating procedures, short video tutorials and informative screen captures.In particular the ability to screen capture while scrolling down a list/page has been extremely beneficial. It’s affordable, easy to use, and a program that I simply cannot do without! Pros I have been using Snagit for years and have always loved it. I tell others about it all the time and create job aids and tutorials weekly. I think the thing I like most about Snagit is the Panoramic Screen Capturing. I work with online programs and data files that sometimes take two or three full screens to view, and trying to capture what goes beyond the current window’s view it very important in my work. Being able to quickly capture it all at once saves me so much time! The library of previous captures is also super helpful. Cons It is slow. Takes a few seconds to start a capture, then the capture tool is slow and jerky while trying to capture screens. During a recent vendor-provided training session Snagit could not keep up with grabbing screen shots and I had to resort to using the snipping tool as it works almost instantly. It is so quick and simple to grab screenshots, to record videos. In screenshots I love how quick and easy it is to add arrows, text, stamps, just a plethora of features that really enhance your screenshot. In screen recordings I love how easy it is to add a webcam, to add your cursor, to add or remove system audio or your pc mic. Again, just like screenshots the functionality makes it so easy to create something that paint the whole picture of what I am trying to create and share with others. It has nice features, but overall I would prefer a simpler tool that will allow me to be faster with my flow. Snagit looks like a tool that has every possible feature that they could think of, but in the process, they have compromised on the ease to use and the speed. I have used Greenshot and WebRemarks and both seem to be better suited for my needs. Pros Snagit offers a lot of features. For every feature that you might need, chances are it is there. If offers different types of screenshots, windows, portions of a window and that is really appreciated. Cons I think there are simply too many features. As I mentioned earlier, if the user wants to put an arrow on a screenshot, there are too many steps and too many different options to choose from. As a user, I would like to take the screenshot fast, quickly put few annotations, and share it. I don't want to choose from 100 different arrows, and click 10 times until my arrow is ready. Reason for choosing Snagit Actually, I haven't chosen Snagit, I tested it and I decided that in the end, I will take another route and use a different tool - or combination of tools, to be honest, that will better meet my needs.
