Since then, I have introduced it to over 6 people. It has become a core tool for us to use in our department. Pros I can capture a screen, add text, symbols, circle items to stand out, black out areas as well as white out an area. Perfect tool for me to use when I am setting up a how to guide for my team or to send an employee information from their file. Cons None that I can think of right now - thank you. Pros Fast comprehensive screen capture and I particularly like the variable shape control. Cons Send To Back & Bring To Front DOES NOT WORK AND NEVER HAS!! When "Recent" bar at bottom is displayed, it's too easy to accidentally use CTRL-A and delete all of it's content...please present a confirmation dialog box. You need to add multi-select of objects using standard windows hot keys so you can act on them as a collection (particularly alignment, deletion, selection, etc) Add a grid lines option. I wouldn't be as productive without it. I have been a user of Snagit since the early 90ss and have referred friends and collogues that still use it to this day over the last 30 years. Pros the ease of use using a Capture shortcut that you can program to any key combination you wish. Then an editor that allows simple to advances markup of the captured image. The Video, is great for training, making video guides, recording meetings. Cons There's almost too much functionality. I would never migrate to another snipping tool, even if it was free. So much flexibility in screen capture. Pros Easy to deploy, ease of use. The abundance of features and robust software solutions. Cons Support can be minimalistic. Team deployment against built-in free tools from MS and your laptop functions could be hard to justify. Just hit Print Screen and it pops up a dialog box and asks me to select the area of my screen it should capture. Sits quietly in my system tray until I am ready to use it. Cons Honestly, there really isn't anything I don't like. Its a simple, clean utility. If I had to pick something negative, it would be the price of their additional assets you can by. And it’s exactly the same on Mac and Windows so I don’t have to transpose commands. Pros I can’t imagine ever working without snag it. It’s better than the free things that come with macro Windows. It’s not only simpler, but it’s also designed to take smaller sections of a screenshot, which is a lot easier to diagram and give a step-by-step procedure then trying to show a whole screen and mark it up with numbers. Cons I wish the Mac and PC Came together so I didn’t have to buy one or the other. I may be wrong on that. I don’t recall because I only use a Mac but whenever I have a new client, I insist that they buy a copy of snaggit. I always just moan “ARGH” when I hear a client say why don’t you just use the clipping capability of Windows? Review Source KR Kelley R. I like it so much I also purchased a personal copy Pros ease of use, high value and a large number of editing tools Cons I have not run across this recently, but I had issues if there were different windows operating systems on different computers that cause me some trouble, but I have not had this issue in a long while Reason for choosing Snagit Snipit tool was the only tool that was afforded me on a work project, it did not have the capability or the ability to save snags to a file. Although I have access to other utilities that have similar functionalities, I find myself coming back to Snagit as my go to app for screen captures, as it works seamlessly and saves the files in an easy to use time-based fashion. Pros I like how easy Snagit is to use and configure for automated storing of captured images. The drag-and-drop capabilities allow me to capture screenshots, annotate them with built in tools, and then drag the annotated file directly into other applications (e.g., Powerpoint or Word). Cons There really aren't any cons about Snagit except it isn't free, but I think you get a lot of bang for your buck. It's very easy to use and plays well with a complicated setup of hardware and software. To my recollection it has never crashed on me either. At my current place of employment I've been using it for over a decade, and all totalled I'd say I've used Snagit in some capacity for probably close to 20 years. In a world of very high volume production needs and a tool that is solid and not fussy, you can't beat the sturdiness of Snagit. Cons I find myself snagging in Snagit and then marking it up in another similar tool because the callouts/stamps/features are far more visually modern and striking than what comes with Snagit.
