Effective tool for screen captures, which I do daily in my marketing and product role for a software company. Quick, saves your images where they're easy to find, and annotation options save me time.

Cons

No complaints about Snagit. I use it daily and wouldn't change the features I'm familiar with.

Cons

I am often frustrated by having to search for the file and then export it from the Snagit format to an accessible graphic format.

Pros

I like SnagIt; it makes capturing screenshots and short recordings easier.

Cons

I find the tools are a bit of a pain. When I open the application, it remembers the last tool I was using, and if I don't check it, I have to edit and then change the tool. There should be a default tool setting. I would prefer to have the move function as the default.

I've used Snagit for many years and have benefited from the added features and couldn't do my work without it. I build presentations and videos for tech meetings and Snagit is my go-to app to get the images into the presentations. I also capture notes found on the Internet for future reference.

Pros

I use Snagit to capture images mostly. I like the capture-to-filing at a chosen folder to be very efficient. I also use the text from an image a lot. It doesn't always get all the symbols into text correctly, but it's easy to edit.

Cons

I do not have any complaints at this time.

Easy to use. I can also capture almost anything from the website and edit.

Cons

Not many stamps (stickers), shapes, or drawing tools to select and use. Would love to have MORE updated tools to download after paying $$$ for Premium Snagit Assets already.

I occasionally find myself needing to switch to other software or mobile apps for features that Snagit doesn't currently offer, like a wider variety of design templates and creative elements such as stickers and stamps. This would allow me to add more visual interest and personalization to my designs.

I liked the screen capture and manipulation. But these features have not been updated in many versions and the bugs are not being addressed.

Cons

There is too much emphasis on video. Not everyone uses this for video.

Great in the past, but since 2023, quality and reliability have tanked.

Pros

Ease of screen capture and better captures than just screenshots -- more options to share and edit.

Cons

Inconsistency in ability to actually use the product. I'm quite tired of having to go back and forth with Tech Support so I've stopped using it and don't plan on renewing next year.

Generally very good except for support.

Pros

It is excellent at capturing all or part of a screen and then extracting the text from that image as well as a great screen capture tool.Being able to capture panorama and vertical scrolls on Chrome anyway, is great.The plus is it's a good video screen capture tool for doing explanier videos, etc.

Cons

Tech support is substandard for anything but simple fixes. You can get the easy stuff resolved easily. But if you have a real tech issue, prepare to be ignored.Several of us, (Check their user Help Blog) have had ongoing problems with not having the "Do not capture Cursor" on video to work. It's been a problem for at least 2 years and it is still not fixed. The button is there and works for some but not others.You send in a trouble ticket and it's never answered, you send in debug files they want, crickets. I don't care if they can't fix the problem, just say so. Not communicating on a ticket that is open is inexcusable.

I have been using Snagit for several years and it has proven to be the best tool on the market for image and video capture in a single tool.

Pros

The tools allow us greater ease in creating troubleshooting, technical, and training documentation.

Cons

The only negative I have found so far is the limitation on screen width that can be recorded to video.

Pros

I use Snagit Daily to screen-capture images which I use in training. The most simple thing is what I use it for the most. That is to crop and do minor adjustments. I do not use this for major photo editing. Also, I have started to use Snagit for screen recording. This is great when I need to show a process. Also, there are a lot of free programs that have moved to paid programs, which if compared, Snagit is great price wise.

Cons

When it comes to screen recording, there are some features that I wish I had more control of. For example, the user can add the option to highlight every click, however, there is not a way, even in post, to remove those highlights. Sometimes I just want a couple clicks to be highlighted.

Pros

It's quick and easy to grab an image off my computer and share it or save it. And the annotation tools are excellent.

Cons

Sometimes navigating the annotation tools and changing or adding a shape, fonts. font sizes, etc. is confusing.
