I started when they were dos base. It is great to know that you have a total EHR-EMR product all in one. As an optometrist I can examine my patients and enter the data with little effort and compile the data I need for MU and MACRA. January 4, 2017 4.0 So, like most ODs out there, I've evaluated all the usual suspects - EyeFinity, Revolution, Crystal, etc. I love the interface with Compulink. It is clean and a pleasure to interact with. Other products look they are based on software developed in the late nineties (think Windows XP or Vista). It integrates features I previously had to have separate programs for. The billing component is comprehensive, the EDI feature speeds claims, electronic health records section that has all sorts of highly useful features (like client education resources, assessment tools for clients, even help deciding CPT and diagnosis codes), and the practice management has more reports that you'd ever need! Plus screens are customizable. Drawbacks include the heavy initial time to implement and learn the program (setting up many database tables so that future use will be easy. We started using the integration a couple of years ago and it's really helped save our team time since we only have to enter CL order details once in Compulink and has reduced human error. We've also used the reports it provides to really get a good look at our contact lens business and how we can improve. They invited us to a session at VEE on using your practice data to better compete with online contact lens reorders. My last implementation coordinator was helpful and walked every step of the way. Cons Servers going down, 2ice in 2 days. My first implementation coordinator wasnt helpful at all. All he talked about was the football team that we are associated with. There are a lot of unnecessary steps that take up way too much of my time. It changes frequently and some things are better, and other things are always worse. The worst part of my day is charting and I thank Compulink Eyecare Advantage for this. Cons Cumbersome to input exam information. The system is cumbersome and reports are not as flexible as we would like. Consulting and training staff are knowledgeable. Support staff reads the help manual back to you in response to questions which I have found to be a complete waste of time. We have complained about this issue multiple times, and we are always told its the internet provider. Six disconnections from the cloud while simultaneously streaming Pandora in the waiting flawlessly is not a connectivity issue, sorry. Difficult, if not impossible, to figure out without help. Billing is a nightmare, since it does not properly track deductibles, and assigns money owed by patients to the insurance companies. Overall, a big disappointment. Pros Templates are very thorough and comprehensive, although many of the choices are redundant. Cons Issues with connectivity, difficulty of use, problems with tracking reimbursements. The support fees are very expensive and we have had to hire an IT company on retainer as well to deal with the system crashes. Most updates fix existing "bugs" in the software, but often come with new ones. The customer service often argues with my local IT or with departments within Compulink. I have a 2 OD practice and the first year cost me over $80k to implement this software....thus handcuffed. Iam on this comparison site to look for something new. June 11, 2014 5.0 Pros The whole software is very user-friendly, and if you get stuck, help is just a click away. The Help button is the best one I have ever used. The Compulink staff is always friendly and helpful, and they always stay right on the line with you whenever you call with any issues. I've never had any issue take longer than an hour to fix. We chose Compulink because of the best combination of cost and features of the systems we demo-ed. They have a carefully mapped 6 month "go-live" process that we adhered to closely, so implementation went smoothly compared to others. The company has been easy to work with. Support is excellent.
