We've used this package since 2003; their team has stayed up-to-date with industry needs and requirements, the program is comprehensive; when we've had issues and problems their team has been quick to respond and usually satisfying with their solutions

Pros

it offers a lot of functionality and the different modules integrate well one with the other; there is a very active group of Compulink users that share ideas, solutions and seems to work well with Compulink.

Cons

little bugs and glitches here and there; icon design and layout (title bar icons not in the same place in different modules); there's a whole lot of functionality and complexity that our one-doctor rural office doesn't really need

Mostly great. When I have software issues, they respond quickly and effectively. I have been with Compulink for 10+years. Often, the issues I have with the software are caused by my network issues, not the fault of Compulink.

Pros

It is constantly trying to improve. The tech support is very helpful.

Cons

There are still repeatable inputs that I have to use on every patient that will not auto populate.

### "So happy"

The ease of use and inventory management system and being cloud based are the main reason I use Compulink. Being able to log into the cloud from anywhere has been fantastic. I can make appointments check sales data and view my schedule all from home or anywhere. Having all of the records securely saved in the Compulink Cloud has made the anxiety of backups and crashes disappear.

Pros

Getting up and running was breeze. The implementation team was knowledgeable and always quick to respond with answers to my many questions. Being cloud based is amazing and allows me to be almost anywhere.

Cons

All though the software is very easy to use it does more than a small one man office like mine will ever use. Some of the tables are huge and can be a little intimidating.

So far, the program is great. There have been some glitches but the support team has been quick to resolve them. Some of them are probably user error since we are still learning the system. I think with time and getting to know the program better, it will be great for our company.

Pros

I really like the team effort in implementing the software and the training to make sure you are ready. The support is awesome. I am able to set up my own templates so that charting is faster.

Cons

minor things, such as some of the tab features, you have to click in areas instead of tabbing to them, the cloud times out too fast sometimes, I may get caught with a patient then end up having to log back in to pick up where I left off, not really a big deal but a little annoying when I'm in a hurry.

I have been with Compulink since 2004. For the most part I have been very satisfied with the software, the support and the ongoing training.

Pros

The software may be customized in many ways. This makes it highly adaptable to many modes of practice. Each administrator can make the software fit his or her needs.

Cons

No software is perfect and there is always room for improvement. Software development is a much more complex task that most people realize and updates take a while to beta test and implement

### "Compulink EHR Review"

Overall I have been very happy with Compulink. The customer service and support is excellent. One way I didn’t realize the benefit is during this pandemic. Implementing tele health and working remotely was easy. We also modified our workflow using Compulink features to adjust to the situation.

Pros

I am most impressed with Compulink’s focus on ease of use. It is really intuitive and easy to learn.

Cons

Compulink continues to make updates and improvements which is a long term benefit but causes us to make the needed short term adjustments.

Reason for choosing Compulink

I chose Compulink because I wanted an all-in-one system that has practice management, surgery center and EHR. I also really liked that it is customizable.

### "a one trick pony"

I've had this system for almost a year, but had it in another office 15 yrs ago. It was terrible then and it hasn't gotten any better. Support can take days to call you back. The ridiculous thing about this software is that it's extremely complex, yet you can still only do one thing at a time. So if you're trying to make an appointment and someone needs to get something dispensed, you have to close out of the scheduler and dispense, then come back to the scheduler. Or vice versa, you can be dispensing, need to make an appointment, but can't do it, because you're in the scheduler. We're typically working with multiple patients with limited staff, and this software is NOT up to handling multi tasking. Data entry is all over the place, as some places have pull down menus, while others have type in entry boxes. There's like 30 different premade exam setups that come with it, but you really only need 4 or 5, yet you can't get rid of all the others from that drop down screen, so you're always having to search for what you want. It can't properly add, so when you're checking somebody out, you have to manually add up what the patient owes, because the system will overcharge them by some odd and varying amount. Don't waste your time with this software.

It's not able to multitask in any way shape or form. It's stupidly complicated for everything you try to do. Even basic stuff is not user friendly.

We have been using this system since the early 90's. It has been improved many time over and has made it easier to use every time. Our Dr is not a computer geek but he works well with it.

Pros

The system is easy to use. They update periodically and make things better. The icons and labels hel newer associates learn the system easier

Cons

Some items cannot be copied and pasted which is a little more difficult when you are trying to move stock numbers from one place to the other

The price, the support and the amazing things that you can do with the program. We use it for recalls, inventory control, following referrals, and financials

### "Have been using quite awhile"

Pros

The usage of this software is quite straight-forward and all in "one unit". Before we got our first EHR in 2009, I investigated several and wanted something that was integrated into one, instead of several separate modules. I actually know of several practices that are now CHANGING their EHR that started with some that I dismissed at the beginning. Everyone from Compulink is friendly and helpful and they also are at ease with the notion that I like to do a lot of the things myself. We have actually changed a lot of the layouts, etc to suit our practice needs and I like that you can do that with this product. If you can't do it yourself, they can do it for you.

Cons

There are occasional crashes when a new update goes through but I can get them on the phone right away. (If you tell them you are down totally, they will immediately call you back.) I really don't think the crashing part is a big problem as I have NEVER seen a program that didn't crash at all. I do wish they had different levels of tech support, that is at different $ amounts. I do not feel that we need as much tech support as some offices and I think that should mean that we pay a smaller monthly fee.

We got Compulink to stream-line our inventory and it is doing its job so far. I am very pleased with the customer support teams.....they are very knowledgeable, courteous, and answer all questions in a very timely manner.

Pros

My practice came off a previous system which was "appointment" based - we had to revamp our flow to accommodate it. With Compulink, we had a very easy transition and a system which meets all of the office needs - EHR, Inventory, Billing.

Cons

Since the software has many capabilities, there is a longer than usual learning curve for all the users. Also, I am an "older" user so I find the font & icons on the small side and difficult to read.

Reason for choosing Compulink

I had looked into Compulink in 2018 and compared it to Dr. Chrono and Revolution. I went with Dr Chrono since the input screens were very appealing. However, it was more physician-based than optical-based. After 1 1/2 years, I decided to go with Compulink. Now that I have it, I feel it was a mistake not to originally go with it.

The company was and still is run by the head programmer

Sometimes the default layouts and information are too general- slanged towards its origins in optometry

My overall experience has been positive. The customer service associated with Compulink is second to none. The cost is reasonable, but it has increased as they have transitioned to cloud computing and consolidated other services. I would recommend Compulink as a mid range electronic medical record system.

Pros

While I have never heard of a practitioner being completely happy with their electronic medical record system, the biggest complaint from most physicians is the customer service. Compulink excels in this area. They answer the phone within a few rings and follow up to ensure that the problem is solved.

Cons

The software interface is outdated and at times glitchy. IT support struggles in troubleshooting and fixing problems that need to be fixed. These delays have likely cost us thousands of dollars in employee hours.

Overall this software is easily to learn/use. However I would not recommend because of the constant crashing of the Compulink system. It is frustrating when you can't do your day to day tasks without the system freezing or shutting down.

Pros

This software is easy to maneuver and easily learned by new employees. You can quickly schedule patient appointments as well as access patient records of their last appointments, glasses orders, prescriptio s and payments.

Cons

This software freezes constantly! My manager was continually on the phone with Compulink customer service because our system would crash in the middle of a busy day with 5 patients in the office. If it wasnt completely down then it would freeze on a page and we would be stuck from 1-3 gours until Compulink fixed 'the bug' as we were told.

This software makes our reporting and insurance claims submission so much easier. We are always finding new and exciting things that the software does that we previously were not aware of. They have thought of most everything and implemented it.

Pros

We have used Compulink since 1994. The product is easy to use, covers all aspects of our optometry practice and their customer support is outstanding!

Cons

We have very few complaints about this software.

### "Comprehensive and Customizable"

Pros

1\. The software is comprehensive. You can entire in an impressive amount of organized data regarding the patient's history, examination, and plan of treatment. You can use the same software to schedule all of your appointments, email or snail mail automatic reminders of their appointments, and fulfill meaningful use requirements. Lastly, it has a robust financial side of things. Easily audit your accounts, send out customized patient statements, run an incredible number of efficiency queries to maximize production. In addition, Compulink has already in place numerous agreements with 3rd parties to make sure the experience is smooth. I love the fact that we are cloud based and I can log in from home on the weekend and do everything just as easily as if I'm in the office. One final point is that Compulink has been in business as an EMR vendor for MANY years. The worst thing you can do as a clinician is go with a small startup company only to see them dissolve or sell out to a larger company. Now all of your time/money has been wasted.

Cons

Calling for help is usually routed through calling the main number, leaving a message and waiting for someone to call you back. The cost of the product is probably higher than others on the market but in this arena I think you get what you pay for.

We like the customization available to fit our needs, and the flexibility of the software to get to the information that we need to run our practice.

Pros

The integration of the EHR, PM, and optical was the biggest draw to the software. It is easy for our staff to learn, and integrates with most software we want it to integrate with.

Cons

Whenever they update/upgrade the software, something usually breaks that sometimes takes months to fix, if ever.

Reason for choosing Compulink

Nextgen had a much bigger price tag for their product, and didn't have the customization and all the integration we were looking for at the time.

Overall, we are satisfied with Compulink. We evaluated 5 systems and by far, Compulink was the the best solution for us and we still feel this way 11 years later.

Pros

We liked that it gave us the ability to customize the software to fit our practice.

Cons

Many of the updates introduced unnecessary new features while rendering some of the old (good) features useless. I wish they would ask the users their opinions before changing or removing features.

Reason for choosing Compulink

The main reason was the ability to customize the EHR to suit our physicians and secondly the positive recommendations from current users.

Pros

We are a private Psychiatric Practice in New York. We have been dealing with this company for years and of recent, months now trying to get our EHR and more specifically our medication system to work. We have had so much trouble every day for the past 7 months. We cannot get the system to work properly!. We have complained many times, we even sent a registered letter to the CEO to no avail. Our patient's are unhappy and we are extremely unhappy. We feel ripped off!!!.

Cons

DOES NOT WORK. There is one excuse after another on a daily basis. It is horrendous.

### "Review of Compulink's Eyecare Advantage"

I have recommended Compulink's Eyecare Advantage for years. In the late 90's, when we decided to go to a Window's based program for our practice, I thoroughly investigated all the software programs for optometry. At that time there were five being marketed. Compulink's Eyecare Advantage was heads above the rest in the ease of use, included features, available options, and value for the money. All the other software programs seemed to be offering much less for the money. I have never regretted this purchase and have found great and quick support from the staff at Compulink whenever we have a question or needed some help. This software is easy for new staff members to master quickly because it is so user friendly, and Compulink's staff is ready to help any level user with any question. Compulink offers online classes, live and recorded, and all aspects of the software. Advantage Eyecare also has a help manual that can be accessed from whatever screen the worker is on, and by clicking on the help manual, the user is taken to the section of the help manual pertaining to that screen's function. It could not be easier to "check on something." Compulink's Eyecare Advantage also makes it very easy for the doc to use electronic medical records and achieve Meaningful Use. Everything you need is built in, and the software even "reminds" you if you have forgotten something for Meaningful Use, or if a diagnosis is not supported for the procedure.

Pros

Ease of sending and posting electronic claims. Most electronic remittances can post automatically, saving staff time. Ease of checking electronically on unpaid claims. User friendliness of software. Integration with Frames Data. Built in help to achieve Meaningful Use.

Our switch from an electronic health record, specifically developed for primary care to Compulink's Advantage Addiction that provides documentation around behavioral health has been a good decision.There are few options available in this service field that is as flexible as Compulink. I look forward to more in-patient treatment facilities coming on board so that a consoritum of users can work together and provide additional support.

Pros

Advantage provides an immediate snapshot of a client for easy lookup and editing. Compulink's Coordinator and Trainer has been readily available to all staff to answer to the issues and any questions that come up, allowing for limited downtime or productivity. I am sure as we gain more experience, our utilization can only improve. I expect that Advantage will provide us with the necessary work process mandated by state statutes and optimal business practices.

Cons

I understand Gookomis Endaad may be the first in-patient treatment facility, which has been somewhat challenging to meet our basic needs. However, Compulink perseveres in modifying the product as we gain more experience. There are also some basic modifications that will be shared for consideration to process billing more efficiently. I would also recommend modifications to the training process. A better initial discussion regarding the implementation timelines in layman's terms would alleviate many of the pressures on the customers side, especially when there is limited IT support.

### "Nightmare"

It's a nightmare! Do not buy this system!

Pros

The system layout is relatively intuitive to use and has options for customization but the customization is difficult to do and it is not used friendly AT ALL.

Cons

The customer service is useless and billing is a nightmare. The company is run incredibly poorly. They constantly are updating the program and with each update, one thing may be fixed but there are a million new errors that you have to wait for the next update to fix... its a constant cycle of drop downs and other basic features not functioning then being fixed then something else not functioning. Every time I call to get help from the "customer support" the staff is rude and unhelpful and not at all apologetic about their program being a mess.

Pros

Software has every option you can think of and can tailor everything to your personal preference and needs. Very comprehensive.

Cons

Takes a little bit of time to get the software fully customized and fitted to your needs but once it is all complete, the process becomes a lot smoother.

We had extremely simple integration from a custom program. Training was a breeze with \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\]!! We're very happy with all aspects of our program.

Cons

we definitely need more specific reports for optical sales. Dispensing and sales reports for each team member would be beneficial.

### "The right fit"

Pros

During integration, Compulink provided extensive support online, phone and on site. The recent addition of the Life Call line has allowed us to get tech support immediately when needed. The ability to customize the software for our particular needs is a great option.

Cons

While I don't hear other users complain of this, we struggle with getting the product upgraded when updates are released. It is a time-consuming task.

Reason for choosing Compulink

At the time, Compulink had significantly more options, experience and robust tech support.
