### "Loving Compulink for over 11 years!"

I have loved working with the software... it is easy to use, easy to train folks on, and easy to customize.

Pros

Customization... even though the level of customization has decreased over the years, it is nice to be able to "make it our own" to make things easier for the doctor and staff.

Cons

That the level of customization has decreased over time, and that tables update randomly to reinsert things that we have hidden (ie: diagnoses and orders).

Pros

It is pretty easy to get in touch with support people There are lots of reports that you can run Its inexpensive

Cons

The biggest con we had was not being able to electronically prescribe controlled substances, even after NY state mandated it. They are still working on it and it been 3 years. Their eprescribe function is woefully out of date, and their ICD 10 codes are incomplete. They are putting almost no money into keeping the system up to date and it really shows. I would stay away as I see this company as going nowhere and whoever uses this software will be shopping for a new one shortly

I have been able to eliminate paper records with compulink, do all my scheduling , and billing with one program.

Pros

I believe it to be as good as any competitor for a fraction of the cost. It is generally pretty self explanatory and user friendly.

Cons

The billing program has to be checked and often rebilled for missing claims. The drop down lists are not optometry specific and can be very tedious to find the right listing.

### "Just Switched to Compulink!"

I just opened my own practice in November 2015. I had narrowed my EHR search down to Compulink and one other competitor. I originally chose the competitor only to switch to Compulink 3 months later. Although it is a hassle to change to any EHR systems, it was well worth the time and money spent. The implementation staff was great and easy to understand the whole way along. My staff and I are much happier with the new system, especially in regards to reliability and ease of use.

Pros

Fast cloud server that stays connected. Tabulates ledgers and Ohio Tax on materials CORRECTLY. Syncs well (once you're through the setup) with 3rd party services like visionweb, eyefinity, etc. Layout is fairly easy on the eyes. Inter-staff communication capabilities / user action items. Compared to other systems, Compulink is fairly more intuitive when trying to figure out something on your own.

Cons

Difficult to quickly flip back to a specific patient encounter. However - things like old refractions, IOPs, and diagnoses are pre-populated into every exam. So this isn't a common frustration. Web Registration will sometimes not submit or upload correctly. The new layout is better but requires patient to register a username and password. Pricing structure (compared to my prev software company) - such as charges for adding a new provider to the practice etc.

Pros

There are a lot of updates to the software to fix bugs and various issues that come up with any software. It is fairly easy to get a hold of someone in customer service. Generally it is easy to use and everything you need is in there.

Cons

This is the only EHR software I personally have used. There are definitely issues, but I would imagine there are always issues here and there with every software.

The implementation is only limited by my own hectic schedule. The Compulink team has been very patient with me and I appreciate that. EVeryone is remarkably professional, pleasant and understanding.

Pros

This is the most versatile and comprehensive system that I have used. It is very adaptive and intuitive. I am pleased at how affordable it is.

Cons

I have not encountered any issues with the software.

Very positive. On boarding team is excellent!

Pros

Connectivity is more reliable than the other 2 cloud bases EHRs and customer service is awesome!

Cons

Creating a diagnosis and plan and making additions and adjustments to those can be cumber.

Good...I have used Compulink in my previous practice and brought to my current practice. Overall, it is a well done product. The customer service is good, especially their IT department.

Cons

Cost. It is expensive, but Compulink is a quality product.

Phenomenal customer support, always available to take care of issues, prompt implementation of software.

Pros

Easy to use, intuitive, easy to navigate the system and do my charting, has most capabilities that I need., allows me to chart efficiently.

Cons

Sometimes crashes for no reason, system can sometimes run slowly, cannot upload pictures directly into the software from ipad or other devices, must pay for other systems to integrate with software.

We have had a good relationship with Compulink over the years. At times, the updates went in the wrong direction. Mostly satisfied overall.

Pros

The tabs are laid out in a way they are easy to navigate. Exams are easily forwarded and changed from year to year. Tables are laid out well to scroll from exam to exam.

Cons

Price. Some of the preset codes are not worded correctly.

Pros

CompuLink offers some excellent tools to complete the billing of sessions. CompuLink is also good at continuing to offer new functionality to its program offerings.

Cons

CompuLink is not intuitive to use. Their customer service is excellent except that I cannot speak to someone right away. I have to wait and ask for a phone call when I know that I will be available later in the day or at another time. CompuLink's tools to alter the product are not intuitive either. Some of their products could be further enhanced.

frequent updates required about every 3 months, each time there are major problems that set us back for days. This last time when we asked about known problems before starting the update we were misled.

Pros

The PM and EHR are both together. Easier than using 2 system separately. Makes it easier than everything is in one system.

Cons

Not being able to fax documents out of the system. We have to use another vender for outgoing faxes.

We have had Compulink as our Practice Management software for over 5 years when we implemented an EHR system. The software is easy to use. Compulink has offered great support and timely response to every one of our requests. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and friendly. We are a large optometric practice with 4 locations and 7 doctors. For a practice as large as ours, Compulink has been able to handle all our requests. Compulink captured the data needed for successfully meeting the meaningful use requirements and offered very detailed assistance through their help manual, reports, and customer support staff.

Pros

Easy of use. Integration of insurances for billing. Time-saving capabilities within the exam module such as forwarding previous exam information, drop down menus and encounter favorites.

Cons

Reports: Although there are a myriad of reports, not all are helpful. Production reports are worthwhile but the Practice management/financial reports lack the ability to customize according to our practice needs. The queries are difficult to use and have limited capabilities. As an example, the most problematic is that we are unable to pull up a specific insurance and determine the exact number of patients with that insurance and the actual dollar amount collected by insurance and patients.

Pros

Mostly that it is easy to use. Most screens are self explanatory and do not require a lot of explanation. Things are easy to find.

Cons

Any custom functions can be overridden in upgrades and have less support for the custom forms. As newer practice manager, learning the building of the templates and how to make changes to them can be a bit overwhelming. I have worked on the compulink system for over 11 years and some of the set ups of the system are difficult to navigate.

Pros

Compulink software is complete in it's capabilities. They are often the first software to offer what is newest and latest. The software helps me meet all the requirements for meaningful use and although it takes some practice, it is easy to maneuver through. As my office's needs have become more complicated and sophisticated the software has been there to meet my requirements. You can get as involved as you want in how you use it- the reports and complex or simple- depending on what you want. It fits my needs and I like that.

Cons

Although the software is all there- everything you need is there- it can be difficult to understand how to use it. I think they could be a bit more user friendly- and I would like to see the people who design it be the people who have to use it. I think that would make it smoother and easier to use.

Pros

It has the ability to do a vast number of things. It has a lot of different reports you can run depending on what you are wanting.

Cons

We frequently have issues and it takes a while for them to resolve the issues. We are always told to simply update the software even though we just did an update a few days before. There also is no way to make sure that all billed visits have been documented.

Marginal medical software that is specialty specific. Lots of frustration teaching me patience and tolerance.

Pros

Decent billing WHEN IT WORKS. Decent scheduling WHEN IT WORKS. Substandard EHR WHEN IT WORKS. Ophthalmology specific.

Cons

Poor reliability. Poor service. Lots of unkept promises of improvements and fixes. NO INTEGRITY! Unfortunately the pain of switching once you are on the software is intense.
