Pros

The customer care is amazing. As a student and upcoming graduate of optometry school, I had no idea that the EHR system had so much more to offer than what was presented in school.

Cons

The cost of the product will never compare to that of something without the cloud, however, they do have hardware storage options which are less expensive.

Pros

Always updating to make the program better. Customizable. Since this was not a web-based program we were able to scan document directly into the program which was SUPER convenient. Not sure if they are web-based now.

Cons

Customer service left us hanging once or twice - They use Emdeon as a clearinghouse, I was not a huge fan of their customer service AT ALL. EHR is integrated, BUT, you have to pay for the software up-front, purchase and maintain your own server, and pay for monthly subscription for customer service. Again, we stopped using this in 2015 - things may have changed since.

Pros

The integration/interface options Compulink offers are second to none. We currently interface all of our testing equipment to save data entry and prevent the chance of human error. The arrangement and access of medical records, demographic, and billing information assists for the best patient experience.

Cons

I look forward to the updated reports coming in the newer versions of Compulink.

I was well supported every step of the way. They were flexible and worked with me to accomplish my go-live goal ahead of schedule.

Pros

It has extensive catalogs for items I use, or plan to use. It has amazing on the go capabilities too.

Cons

My current struggle is with check out/ posting with discounts on packages.

Reason for choosing Compulink

They checked all the boxes and more. Had great tutorials on You-Tube, so I could get a feel for the program without feeling sold to. Expansion and management of multiple locations seemed to be seamless with Compulink.

Pros

Very easy to customize. Company is open to adding features. Has been around for quite a while, which is reassuring. Cloud access is a big plus for our multi-site practice. Audiology integration with NOAH right out of the box was a big selling feature. Was able to do an unlimited claims option that made for higher, but level monthly costs, which made the change easier for our practice owner to swallow. Our old billing-only software was grandfathered in an unlimited plan. Search functions seem particularly robust on this software.

Cons

Learning curve for our staff is steep, but appears to be manageable. Could be more colorful for the staff who look at it for 8 hours a day. A few staff members were hoping we chose a system that looked more like an app., though that one was priced much higher and did not have EHR.

Pros

Software is fully customizable. We can make changes according to what works best for our practice, and Compulink support staff will help with virtually anything! Their representatives return calls promptly and work with us to get almost any problem solved.

Cons

Customization is tough to learn. There are a lot of steps involved, but it can be done. Updates generally make unwanted changes, but we've come to expect it and know to test the software after updates. Other offices "warned" us about the same thing; it's just a necessary evil of any EMR system.

The good and the bad is that they are constantly updating things. I know that you need to have that done but we go along with them begrudgingly because I would really like to learn how to use everything well, but with the constant updates, just as soon as I get used to something, they are updating the software and I have to learn new stuff. It feels as though you are on a treadmill sometimes because it's never-ending. Then again, when we complain about things in the program, they do take our complaints into consideration when they do the updates.

Pros

We've been with them a long time so their support staff knows who we are. They triage their support calls so if your system is down, you will go to the front of the line. This doesn't happen to us too often so we do have to wait for a return call.

Cons

Scrolling back to look at old records is not as easy as it seems. Having paper to look at is still preferable to me.

Pros

Support personnel are excellent. They are very prompt, courteous and can take care of the issue quickly in most cases. The webinars are very good too.

Cons

Somewhat problematic. On average, I have to contact support 2-3 times per week for various issues. Things seem to change within the program frequently (i.e. now you have to use Capital letters to auto populate fields, IM does not stay up until answered ...) and we find out about the changes all of a sudden when what we did yesterday, no longer works today.

We have been using Compulink's EHR Advantage now for 7 years. I have seen a lot of other Ophthalmology groups that have changed their software 2 or 3 or more times, but we have not been inclined to do this at all. The people that work for Compulink are first rate and we know if we have questions we can call them and they will take care of it. The program is relatively easy to use and provides information we need to maintain our Healthcare requirements since everyone has been required to go to Electronic Healthcare Records. All in all, would definitely recommend them!

Pros

Relative easy to use, allows for personalization's that can be done by the customer, friendly and relatively fast customer service. Keeps up with the ever changing government requirements.

Cons

OKAY, let's talk EHR here. Every 5 minutes the government is changing some requirement. That would be the only con and it's not Compulink's fault.

I have been using this product for two years There are so many problems and not Enough tech support . During the demo I Was assured tech support would be available Till 1000 pm . After we signed the contract I was told that tech support closes at 5 pm PST If you wonder why don't we don't cut our losses And buy into another program? 1. Too much money 2. Too much time invested Already 3. Too many patients to take with us To the next program 4 . And finally when I Suggested getting another program my staff Almost walked out as everybody has put in Hundreds of hours getting this one to work.

The size of the font is too small Not enough Tech support. ; the program requires too many hours and too many people to input all the Data necessary for each chart and it is not Intuitive besides that the way the program is written goes against everything we were taught In medical school

Had this software for more than 20 years and have seen it evolve from a DOS system to a Windows system. EMR part of the software is very good. Like the equipment interface. Billing, Recall, and Inventory functions are good. Software support is good, but response time can take a while. Problems always get fixed. I like the online seminars. There is a lot of functions that I have not used. Difficult to customize the software. It can be done, but too complicated for me to figure out.

This office has been using Compulink Psych Advantage for about 6-7 years. Before using Psych Advantage the office used another system, but all the claims were printed and sent out though the mail. It was time consuming and, at that time, didn't have an e-file system. I don't know the reason the office manager chose Compulink, but as the office manager for the last 7 years, I'm very glad she did. Anytime I call or email, my concerns and questions are answered as soon as possible. My favorite benefit is the share feature with the computer tech. I can watch while an issue is being taken care of and I don't have the added pressure of trying to find the area that is being worked. I'm not an IT and my time is valuable. This works well for our small office. This is a small office with one Psychologist and I'm the only person that does all of the bookwork. Having Psych Advantage makes submitting claims so much easier! I can breeze though the claims and insurance issues, and have time to file, answer phones, deal with clients, and not feel so stressed at the end of the day. I really do feel that, all in all, this company gives it's best to accommodate and satisfy it's customers. No exaggeration.

### "Psych Advantage is THE EHR system for mental health professionals! "

Pros

We have been using Psych Advantage by Compulink since April 2015. We are thrilled with what it has done for the flow of business operations and chart compliance. It took quite a bit of admin (myself, the Executive Director and our CBO) time to set up and customize and we continue to make modification to meet our clinical and research needs. I would say, if your practice has 4 or more clinicians, this product should definitely be on your list to try out. It is expensive but worth every $ we have spent so far. Our staff say that after minimal training (less than 3 hrs each) they can work the system without much issue. Our staff also say it has decreased their paperwork time significantly. One of our staff's favorite features it how it automatically generates assessment reports. Would be happy to share more information with anyone interested.

Cons

There is really little to say about what we do NOT like. It is certainly more expensive that other softwares, however, once you think of all it does for a practice in terms of the ease of billing, remittances, and keeping charts compliant in case of audit, it pays for itself.

Pros

I love the flexibility that I have by having the ability to customize my screens, and the classes to learn how to customize are easy to understand. I'm also pleased with the quick turn around time for support calls.

Cons

Occasionally they will roll out an update that repairs a glitch or 2 but it also changes some of their screens. Which means that if you are using their screens you may have trouble finding a field that you know was there yesterday on a different patient.

We are currently continuing to use Compulink for our optical needs, but we are moving to Epic for our EHR. It has more flexibility for our setting.

Pros

Our EHR specialist was extremely knowledgeable with the product and it was customizable.

Cons

It was no intuitive for new users. You were limited on the number of charts you could work on at the same time. The scheduling system was awkward and difficult to maneuver.

Overall the experience has been good, but could be better

Pros

The software is easy to use once you get the hang of it and the service department is easy to get a hold of when you need help

Cons

Implementation was not a smooth process and there were many things that were left unmentioned by opening day. There are also many options hidden in the software behind multiple clicks (options/windows). The optical software for ordering glasses has no search funcitonality for lens options so you have to scroll through the entire list to find what you need

I had a horrible experience with Compulink before giving up on it and hiring a billing agent. Apart from the usual poor usability I've found with this and most other EHRs, the system claims that you can do your own billing out of the box and will have little need for training other than the online training provided by the system. I did not find this to be so. Once I finally mastered all of the issues with the software usability, I discovered that insurance companies are extremely good at delaying, misdirecting, and avoiding payment of bills. I spent a lot of money on online support. After a month, I had not successfully submitted any billing, despite working closely several times a week with online help. I finally pressed them to send me a human billing agent to try to solve the problem. She showed up more than six weeks later, long after I gave up on this program.

Cons

Apart from the usual poor usability I've found with this and most other EHRs, the system claims that you can do your own billing out of the box and will have little need for training other than the online training provided by the system. I did not find this to be so.

Our practice has been using Psych Advantage by Compulink for over one year now. As an executive director I have been able to ensure chart compliance through customizations (e.g. setting client specific reminders for treatment plans, etc.) and I am also able to easily access supervisee charts to ensure care standards are being met (hopefully exceeded). The customer service team continue to answer our every call. If I think of a feature I want included in the product the IT team is immediately available to add it to our product. Because of the easy to use claim submission features, our billing department has improved claims payout to 99% within 1 week. This software may not be the best for solo practitioners, however, for group practices or hospitals, I couldn't imagine there being a better software available.

Cons

The fact that when you need technical support you have to leave a message and wait for a call back. They are very good about calling back but me personally I would like to have the choice of being on hold or leave a message. Again they are very good about returning calls!

This is by far the hardest program to learn and I have worked on many others!

Pros

I honestly wish there was one thing I find positive about this but after having other programs I have nothing good To say about this!

Cons

click here, double click there! It is way too much! Not user friendly at all! Doesn’t easily link patients together! Time clock is horrible! Always have to make sure it registered my login! There are much easier ways of doing things and Compulink seems to make everything harder and more complex than necessary!constantly having to press Escape because it freezes up on me right while the patient is in front of me!
