Pros

Compulink works hard to improve the software and it's ease of use. They come out with new versions frequently and seek user feedback continually.

Cons

It is difficult to connect with patients via secure email and text. Additionally, the patient portal is lacking in ease of use as well as professional appearance from a patient perspective.

Cons

The regular updates can make it difficult to get used to the product, as things continuously change... but that also means the product is continuing to improve.

As an administrator looking to go paperless for the first time, it was really important to be able to customize features to our office needs. Compulink is continuously improving their system and allows us to customize just about everything. They are accessible and return phone calls for support within the same day. We are also very excited to begin using their contact lens interface with ABB Concise to be able to order CL's directly through Compulink!

Cons

Reporting an issue gets prioritized according to how many requests they receive, some miniscule problems get thrown in the "back burner" and take much longer to get resolved.

This is our third HER/ Practice Management system in four years. We’ve been with CompuLink now for two years. Our claim errors plummeted from over 43% to less than 5%!!! CompuLink’s support is fantastic!!! When there is a question or problems I have my support person on the phone in 20 minutes. During implementations their support and hand holding was excellent and reassuring. CoumpuLink’s staff are personable and supportive and work to establish a personal relationship to get to know our agency and work with our own idiosyncrasies.

Pros

Support! Support! Support! Also a great interface with Emdeon.

Cons

A bit of a challenge in the early stages.

It has been an uphill struggle transitioning from paper medical records to EMR and I believe part of this is due to the Compulink Ophthalmology Advantage product we chose. It is not very user friendly and from the get go customer support was lacking.

Pros

Ability to customize some of our screens.

Cons

It uses outdated technology. You have to write most of your reports using SQL language which most people working in a physician office are not familiar with. It doesn't interface directly with our equipment which creates additional steps to import images from our testing equipment.

I feel like there should be a better training program. Walked away feeling I had to teach myself more than what I learned in tranings. The program is complicated, has many layers. Not as comprehensive as the marketing says.

Pros

The options ... making it so it can really fit your company as much as you can, tabs are functional and used a lot.

Cons

Complicated, hard to understand, initial training is mimimal, & expensive to continue. Was so disappointed in the process of it. Felt like we were alone for most of it. Still uses DSM IV language. Not substance abuse friendly.

The EHR is easy to use with a great implementation team which makes transitioning great. The software is very cost effective as well. I like that it has all in one functionality so I can bill electronically with a lot of support.

Cons

I had a few hiccups with the EHR freezing, but that was corrected in a timely fashion.

Running insurance claims/reminders/statements is a breeze and super fast with the newest upgrade. I can get my job done hours sooner, which opens me up to help the staff or take on additional projects.

Pros

There are so many reports to pick from, it makes my monthly reporting to the doctors very easy. If we have issues, we call/email/or direct message support and we hear from them within an hour.

Cons

Having to pay for a service every month that we may not use is frustrating. I wish they would remove that additional fee every month. Integration was easy, they sent someone to our office to train the staff and then we had a personal trainer to work with if any issues came up.

I was trained at my optometry school on Compulink EHR and when I started my own practice, there was no doubt in my mind which system I would use. If you have a question if the software can do something, 99% of the time it can! The help manual online is a bit wordy and confusing, but if you call their support number, they will gladly walk you through it.

Pros

easy to use, functionality, continuing improving to make Dr. lives easier, customer support

Cons

lots of clicking through screens, some glitches when posting to ledger correctly

We have multiple offices that are all linked. We needed a system that could treat each office as an individual practice, while still being able to group all of them together as one. Because Compulink is so customizable, it is able to do this with ease. Customer support is great. I can send an email (instead of waiting on the phone) and they respond promptly. Cole, in the IT department, is super knowledgeable and is always willing to assist me (or my IT team) with whatever questions we may have. Compulink continues to meet, and exceeds, all of our software needs.

This program is a nightmare. It is not user friendly, the interface is archaic, it has weird bugs, it is NOT intuitive at all. All the clinicians I work with hate this program but my boss isn't savvy enough to look into new options. We have had a complete meltdown this week of the program, which is why I am on this site desperately hunting for new software I can try to talk my boss into. We had the program freeze up this week and probably spent 16 hours on the phone w their tech support trying to fix it. After multiple attempts, the tech guy told our secretary he's have to quit trying because he couldn't figure out what the problem was- and that he'd have to take it to the team to work on before he could fix it. So I left work yesterday having not completed a single therapy note. Grrrrr....

We've used compulink for more than 10 years and continue to see advancement and improvements that accelerate efficiencies and staff knowledge. We certainly advocate to colleagues the potential that Compulink is an option they should seriously consider when upgrading EHR.

Very intuitive.

Cons

Table upgrading is very challenging. I wonder if software could be developed that would recognize multiple repeated adjustments and automatically update the tables to reflect those adjustments.

Having used Compulink's Eyecare Advantage for over 25 years, We have gone through several iterations of the product. Initial response to requests for updates was slow but has improved greatly. I can't imagine using another product after this long.

Spectacle Rx and inventory control functions

Cons

Inability to customize the screen size like typical windows softwares as well as All the recent changes, but those are being mandated by the government so not a fault of Compulink

Compulink is an excellent practice management system. The system is easy to use and customizable. Every update brings new integrations that make the system easier to use. If Compulink University does not have the answer to a problem, customer service is easily available to answer and troubleshoot any question.

We have been using Psych Advantage by Compulink since April. We are thrilled with what it has done for the flow of business operations and chart compliance. It took quite a bit of admin (myself the Executive Director and our CBO) time to set up and customize and we continue to make modification to meet our clinical and research needs. I would say, if your practice has 4 or more clinicians, this product should definitely be on your list to try out. It is expensive but worth every $ we have spent so far. Our staff say that after minimal training (less than 3 hrs each) they can work the system without much issue. They also say that it has decreased their paperwork time significantly. Would be happy to share more information with anyone interested.

Pros

The best part about this product is being able to put everything in the same place. Before we got this system we could have to go so many different places in our computer to get to one simple thing... and that's how it was anytime we never need to search for a document. Now, we know exactly where everything is and everything has it's own place/tab.

Cons

The thing I like least is the appointment tab. We have 8 people in our office now, so when clicking on the appointment tab, when you go to the office section you can't see everyone's name an appointments below. The screen only gives you space to see 7, so i have to scroll over. Now if i maximized the "appointment" window I could see them all. I just wish i could customize the windows like a regular computer system.

Overall, this is a good product and would recommend it. Does have some issues off and on but is usually handled in an upgrade pretty quickly.

Pros

Easy to learn for most employees.

Cons

We were told we could customize our EHR layouts but as the years past and more upgrades happened, we had a lot of trouble. Would have liked to been told to keep Compulink screens and not to do too much customization.
