### "Un choix judicieux"

September 23, 2024

### "I cannot believe it's free!"

June 28, 2024

5.0

Overall we as a team are delighted. This is as close you can get to professional video editing for free. For free it's just amazing what you can do. When compared to other software, which often doesn't allow you to render in 4K, which this does at no additional cost.

Pros

There is so much to like about DaVinci Resolve! I'm surprised daily as to the features and benefits to this software. The fact that it's free is incredible! Myself and partner create YouTube videos, and DaVinci Resolve has been fundamental to our development. Near on all the essential tools are included in the free version, with the premium features behind a paywall. But the free tools are more than enough for what we need, so we're yet to pay for this product. But we would if truth be known.

Cons

I installed it temporarily on my MacBook Pro, as the windows machine I use normal wasn't to hand. Having used DaVinci for this brief period of time, I decided to remove it, as it takes up a lot of HD space. But even following the uninstall method provided within the software, it left a lot, and I mean a lot of stuff on my machine. Loads of files and folders and clutter. This was not good. In annoying me so much in fact that I did a fresh install of my MacOS. Be aware of this. Once installed it's impossible to remove without issue.

### "Excellente alternative à Final Cut Pro"

June 10, 2024

5.0

### "it is a good video editing software for professionals"

March 2, 2024

4.0

It's excellent for the more experienced editor and highly professional. The DaVinci Resolve free version is, in my opinion, fantastic. As a wedding video editor, the free version fulfills my needs. I use davinci for color correction, and after export, I can edit the clips in other software, a little more user friendly

Pros

it is a very good software for video editing, although it is a little difficult to use. But it does a quality job once you learn to use it. there is a free version that helps you with 90% of what you need . color grading is the best on the market

Cons

it is a little hard to learn how to use it It is a little less intuitive to use than other well-known film editing programs. you will have trouble with parts of the playback when editing if your computer isn't powerful enough.

### "Davinci resolve, an oscar-worthy video editor"

September 1, 2021

5.0

Davinci resolve, meets all my needs, it's a powerful editor that doesn't require a lot of effort to learn how it works, but it can help us to create very large projects, it's good, cheap, and powerful. A great video editing software

Pros

Davinci resolve is not expensive, compared to other alternatives, this video editor gives us the software license and updates FOR LIFE, for a single payment, maybe the initial investment isn't cheap, but it will last forever. This video editor has been used in great movies and projects, so it will undoubtedly help us to create the best version of our final cut, this video editor also offers us the opportunity to use a downgrade version with the essentials to create good montages. Davinci resolve is an alternative that everyone should try at least once.

Cons

This being such a powerful software can have its disadvantages, Davinci is designed for video editing professionals, so it may be too much for you, if you are looking for a simple software, which only occupies to cut and paste video sequences, there are much cheaper alternatives that will meet what you are looking for, so I invite you to look for more basic video editors before buying this one.

### "high powered professional video editing software... for free!"

January 14, 2023

5.0

I enjoyed using DaVinci Resolve, although at this point I have decided to move back to Final Cut Pro as I am more familiar with the software and interface. DaVinci resolved has allowed me to create high quality videos for free which was a necessity as my budget did not allow for the purchase of Final Cut Pro for some time. I use the software to make YouTube videos, Instagram reels and other forms of social media video content as well as filming eCourses.

Pros

The best thing about DaVinci Resolve is that it is a free software. It is extremely rare to find such a powerful professional grade software available for free. It is worth noting that not all features are available in the free version, although essentially every necessity is available. This is not iMove or Windows Movie Maker. This is actual world class editing software available for you to download today. There is a significant learning curve though, so if you are already used to another software, the time investment to learn a new software may not be worth your while. i.e, if you will easily use up over $299 of your time to learn this software in a basic way, so if you're already a master at Final Cut Pro, it would make more sense to pay the $299 to purchase it.

Cons

In general, there are not many cons to this software. It has everything I could ever think of needing to make high quality video edits and much more than I'd ever use. The learning curve is probably the most difficult thing about using this software. It isn't as user friendly as Final Cut Pro, for example, but if one takes the time to do the necessary tutorials or takes a course, they will overcome that difficulty in due time.

I learned FCP in college. I did not have the budget to purchase it as a business expense, so I utilized the free version of DaVinci Resolve. FCP is still my personal preference, but Resolve is an excellent option overall that I'm sure I'd have no issue with using had I learned and practiced with it as much as I have with FCP

### "Davinci's a powerful program that can edit in 8k, but do you need all that?"

July 21, 2022

3.0

It's a tough sell for me being a "weekend warrior" with a lot of other "non editing" stuff to do as it takes time to learn as well as the actual editing.

Pros

I like that even in the free version you can edit in a resolution that most people don't even have in their living room. The 30k or whatever the paid version has was overkill for me but the color correction alone practically pays for itself because it will fix any kind of lighting mistake and i mean any. Next best thing are the graphics and sound effects which are far superior to anything else on the market.

Cons

I found it has a steep learning curve if you haven't been around for the previous 16 to 17 versions. Even the tutorials need tutorials, its ridiculous!

### "DaVinci Resolve: The Next Industry Standard"

June 1, 2022

5.0

I have been unhappy with Final Cut Pro and (especially) Premiere, so I was shocked when I downloaded DaVinci Resolve and it was so powerful! And the Fairlight audio editor is light years beyond anything else in the industry, offering full multitrack mixing, output busses, and more. I cannot recommend this software enough.

Pros

Firstly, the free version of DaVinci Resolve is so good, I would wager most amateur video editors would never need to upgrade to the Studio version. It's shocking that BlackMagic gives away an editor this good for free, and I would be surprised if DaVinci Resolve does not replace Adobe Premiere in the next 5-10 years.

Cons

DaVinci Resolve has some quirks that take getting used to, especially when it comes to the animation workflow. This is a confusing interface where you hook up nodes in a nebulous flowchart that just does not make sense to a newcomer.

### "Ottimo software di editing video "

February 10, 2023

5.0

E' accurata e precisa.

Cons

Non ci sono inconvenienti riguardo il software. E' professionale e accurato nei minimo dettagli.

### "DaVinci Resolve, the all in one."

February 2, 2022

4.0

I started using DaVinci Resolve because I was starting to run out of space on my hard drive due to the storage being taken up by the software I was using and the size of the files they were creating. When I started using DaVinci Resolve I realized that I couldn't put it down again, and although I occasionally go back to using some software that I used in the past, it is true that DaVinci is superior in many aspects, and no, I am not exaggerating. It's easy to use, easy to implement and very, VERY cheap if you want to use the studio version, because yes, on top of everything, DaVinci has a very complete version that is FREE

Pros

In davinci resolve it's much easier for me to implement all the functions that I need to edit or create a video. For example, whereas before I needed to "process" my video into montage, editing, colorization, and special effects creation using different programs, with DaVinci Resolve it's as easy as flicking from one tab to another. Not long ago I made a 3D title in DaVinci 50% faster than I did using 3 or more programs.

Cons

To be honest, DaVinci is very close to being perfect, seriously, it even seems like such an unreal program because of the number of functions it implements. Perhaps sometimes this software is limited since it implements functions that should be dealt with one software at a time, but with time and discipline it's possible to perfectly master the virtues and the few defects that may arise.

### "Un programma di editing comodo ed efficiente"

February 7, 2022

5.0

### "DaVinci Resolve converted me from the Adobe CC"

August 25, 2022

5.0

Resolve has just sped up my workflow and has also provided tools (the colour tab) to make my content look even better. I now only user Adobe for AE, but once Fusion is fleshed out a bit more, I can see myself spending the time to learn it and make the switch. For a more detailed breakdown of features, read that section of the review.

Pros

\- It's speed and performance in comparison to the competition - Multiple application windows in the one application. Bouncing between areas is seamless - The colour correction and grading. Nuff said - The pricing. Production software like this IMO is a tool and not a service. I can't stand that if you stop paying for Adobe's CC, you get locked out from using the old tools that you've spent thousands on rather than just not being able to download future updates. Resolve's buy once and own for life is perfect, especially since you can also download almost the full program to use for free anyway

Cons

I don't really have any complaints, other than sometimes I have technical issues and rendering is sometimes impossible without corrupted artefacts. I'm running a fairly old graphics card (980ti), and it can be really frustrating when certain updates and fixes are relegated only to the new card architecture.

### "A good editing tool but not user friendly"

November 24, 2023

4.0

I was an Avid media composer user for long time then convinced by a friend I switched to DaVinci Resolve in 2017. The learning curve it's very steep and after these years I still need to go back to the user manual for finding functions not so easy to discover. It's a great gear for colorists but not so easy for making simple editing. It can be improved under many points for instance is not backward compatible so must keep a backup of your project in case of. Difficult to use in a laptop and I use it in a 17" FHD laptop. Anyhow as any software cannot satisfy everyone. I go on use it because at least the updates price (zero) is still fitting my pocket.

Pros

The price was why I choose it at first, then after using it for a while I found it having a plenty of tools in the same box. I still use it since 2017. I Use the studio version which has good tools and permit me to complete a work even I'm alone.

Cons

It's not very user friendly. The UI is not very easy to understand and to much tools are fit in a single screen. Unless I'm not able to discover it the different UI sections are not detachable so Timeline area results sacrificed unless do you have two monitor and move timeline to one of them.

### "The best there is."

September 30, 2021

5.0

Extremely positive, to summarize it. DaVinci's editing tools are as simple or complex as you need them to be, with separate lighting, timeline, and FX suites. Transition and effect libraries have more than enough options. The exporting process deserves a shout out - it has prebuilt channel-specific export templates, i.e. "export for Vimeo," "export for Instagram," etc. The times when I have gotten stuck, I was able to figure it out searching online forums. I do have to point out, though, that figuring issues out for yourself would be much harder without a background in film editing. This will be a rough learning tool if you're new to film editing - not an impossible one, and definitely worth the money. But you have to be comfortable operating on your own.

Pros

Well it's free. And there's no hidden nonsense there - you download and install, and you have a full-scale ad-free film editing suite. I've been using DaVinci Resolve for 3+ years and I've never hit an ad, paywall, pop-up, or anything of the kind. Aside from being free, DaVinci Resolve has all the features from Adobe and Final Cut that a beginner-to-intermediate user would want. I am still shocked it's free. DaVinci is one of the few software tools that I am genuinely happy to open and start using.

Cons

Because it's free, there is no customer support. The forum and knowledge library ecosystem is dense though, and you should be able to get most questions answered easily. It's also a bit less user-friendly than other bigger name film editing tools. If you have experience using film editing software, the transition won't be too bad as it operates essentially the same as the others. If you have minimal or no experience and want to use DaVinci as a learning tool, it is going to be a harder (and entirely self-taught) transition.

### "From small to big, an essential tool for the media creator."

September 15, 2022

5.0

I use it to integrate VFX and 3D CGI for small shorts, but some times I had to create medium length media and it's also a pleasure to work for these projects. Also in art schools I like teaching this software because it makes students feel like they progress fast on their creative solutions. It is not a class of teaching the tool, but a class of using a tool for media creation. Which is something that you cannot say of other software.

Pros

I really love how DaVinci is able to accommodate all kind of projects and workflows. Having professional-grade software ranging from free to full-paid with advanced options is a killer. This is very useful as the software to go for schools and students. And it can get as big as needed. The learning curve for newcomers is very fast, and I have only had some trouble trying to explain how a project media library differs from what you see at the OS file level. But nothing wrong or bad with it.

Cons

I think the interface may seem to be complex when you see it the first time, but the tutorials that come in the documentation make this barrier to disappear fast.

### "Davinci Resolve is a powerful video, audio editor and animation creator"

April 18, 2021

5.0

Here, where I work, this software is widely used to edit the main social media of the moment, because its construction allows the customization of different sizes and formats of renderings, besides allowing to create animations with texts, images and drawings. Its main benefit is to attend all stages of content production such as video editing, animations, colorization, audio editing and video export.

Pros

This software is very powerful, it brings several ways to edit videos, create animations for YouTube, Facebook, igtv and any type of social media. Available on the three main operating systems on the market such as Windows, Mac and Linux. It has two versions, the free version has some effects blocked, and the full version with all the effects and tools available. At first the software seems complicated to operate, but over time it is possible to learn to use it without much effort. It is a complete software where it has several tabs arranged in a workflow that greatly facilitates the use of the various tools that are: video editor, coloring tools, animation creation, editing and audio mixing with effects such as reverb , delay, noise reduction, side-chain and many others; and a rendering screen where you can choose from various video rendering formats. To install this software you must have a graphics card, in addition to having enough space available on your hard drive to support the caches that are created throughout the Editions, and at least 8GB of RAM. In your video editor you can create animations with phrases from pre-existing models and change them according to your needs. It also accepts import of subtitles from other software, with the possibility of editing them easily. It has a database system where it is possible to create, import and export projects to other similar software.

Cons

In its version for Linux it is not possible to edit videos in MP4 format, needing to convert them to MOV format. It does not accept the customization of some shortcuts.

### "Great Software with great capabilities for free or a fraction of the price"

May 11, 2023

5.0

i am so glad i was put in touch with this software as it has made my editing experience so much better, more professional and faster than when using other software. The capabilities it also great and encouraged me to use it more. The other great thing is that there are tons of people using it and so there is a wide amount of help video tutorials and sights to help with things you need to do in it.

Pros

I really loved the colour grading tools, these are very good with better features than other products at higher price points. It has also a very good editing system and export system. this will meet the needs of any amateur to semi professional users. I am not a fulltime Hollywood editor so i cant really comment on above what I make use of it for.

Cons

This has been able to deliver on all that i have needed it to. There are features that I am not able to use because those are only available in the paid version but it is a small price to pay for what you are already getting and more.

### "A professional video editor"

October 5, 2022

5.0

It's a top ranking video app but requires good understanding, usually used by professions.

Pros

This is a very sophisticated app but only recommended for professional editors, it is a complex app that requires fairly considerable time to figure out and a good understanding in both video and sound editing. It has features anyone can use in the media and film industry and even many popular films such as King Kong (2005) was edited with this program. It is great for professional video editors.

Cons

Definitely more time consuming to learn, many companies even have several people working different part of it, use as color graders, video editors, sound editors. This is a complex program to use just by one person.

### "The best in Color Grading."

March 20, 2022

5.0

I've used the program for more than two years, and I think it's a good option to start working with, considering that it has a free version.

Pros

It is true that there are many programs that enable you to Correct Colors ,Color Grading, add effects and make an integrated montage, but so far no program has been able to reach accuracy and make color correction very professional like Da Vinci Resolve, which has the best and most powerful feature I have seen since it started Work in designing videos that are Color Grading ,Correct Colors and in my opinion, he specializes in this thing more deeply than other programs. The beautiful thing about the program is that it is very easy to use, and you can use it perfectly in a few days, and at the same time, you can get great colors. Keep in mind that DaVinci Resolve has a free full version, which will be why you don't hesitate to use it in your projects.

Cons

If the Da Vinci Resolve program is your first choice to get started, it will be easy to work with as I told you But the problem is when I switched from using Adobe programs to Resolve, it was difficult for me to use the user interface and get used to it, it is completely different from what I used to use.

### "Davinci Resolve free is all you need for most small to medium scale video editing projects"

September 6, 2020

4.0

Pros

The free version of Resolve is by far the most functional and feature rich video editing software out there. It beats out Adobe Premiere in the overall feature set you get, especially when you start to get into building effects in Fusion. Each update has helped Resolve take more advantage of powerful GPUs so when you're working with VFX you're rewarded by having a high end GPU during playback and rendering. The color modification options are rich and can do incredible things with your footage. You can easily take non-log footage and apply pre-existing effects and layers to get the look you want. Fairlight is their audio editing suite, which is how this application started out as so you can imagine that the audio editing tools are amazing, and they are. One of the most convenient tools is the ability for Resolve to use audio analysis to automatically line up multiple clips from different cameras that filmed the same scene. If you find yourself often using a clapboard to align your footage, say good bye (assuming you're capturing audio from each camera). The community of creators on Resolve is massive and you can find tutorial son how to do almost anything online. It's how I got started learning how to use the software and I'm still scratching the surface of it's capabilities.

Cons

The software is huge and cumbersome to learn. Luckily there's tons of tutorials on youtube from many creators that can show you how to do simple to super complex tasks. If you're moving from Adobe Premiere, you're going to miss the ability to import content from other apps directly inside of your project. Resolve doesn't support integration into Photoshop and whatnot so you can't go from editing an image in PS then open it up in Resolve like you can in Premiere. If you're someone who heavily relies on the Adobe apps, this will be the hardest thing to get past, but once you've adjusted your workflow it doesn't really add that much time to your projects. You're more so losing out on the convenience. In previous versions it had a tendency to crash randomly. Sometimes effects you create would go corrupt or prevent the project from successfully rendering or the Resolve to crash during rendering. This would require you to pinpoint what part of the video where the failure occurred, find the offending effect, delete and recreate it from scratch. This could be caused by something as simple as a scrolling text box. It was impossible to know what would prevent a video from rendering, which was super frustrating especially when considering the error message doesn't give you any info into what caused the render to fail. They've since made fixes to prevent this from happening, but just something to keep in mind when working in large projects: save often and test your exports.

### "One of the top video editor"

May 12, 2022

4.0

Pros

I am using Danvinci Resolve 17.4.2 it gives this professional feel from its interface, layout and features one can tell that he or she is using an advance editing software. I love the advance color grading and correction tools. I love the fact that under Resolve FX color there is color space transform with preset color schemes that matches the type of camera that one used, applying these the footage dramatically transforms the footage before one proceeds with color grading. Under fusion tap there are nodes that takes this software to the pros. One can color grade or correct separately using nodes separate layers, for instance one can color grade or correct the skin tone, grass or sky separately using nodes layers. What is amazing is that under fusion the nodes allow the editor to fuse and customize the motion graphic effects, also creating awesome 3D text.

Cons

I started using version 16 I have been struggling with constant crushing and GPU error message. I thought upgrading to version 17 it would be better but it was the same thing. My major issue with Davinci Resolve is constant freezing, crushing during editing and exporting.

### "Da Vinci Resolve!! The Best Colour Grading Software Out there!!"

May 2, 2023

5.0

Video editing application that facilitates production with tools for color correction, visual effects, motion graphics, and post-production audio.Resolve is tremendous, and is fortunately separated into different 'Pages'. There's one to actually look at your 'Media', one more to plan and 'Cut' your recording, one more to 'Alter', despite the fact that you can likewise do altering in 'Cut'. 'Combination' allows you to collect and apply impacts to cuts through a hub based interface (it's more befuddling and less direct than how different editors work with enhancements, but on the other hand it's hugely strong). 'Variety', is where your variety evaluating happens, 'Fairlight' is for escalated sound work and control, and 'Convey' focusses on sending out your completed item.Regardless of not being a significant jump in rendition numbers, this cycle of Resolve actually packs a decent lot of upgrades, from the unobtrusive connection point change, to the huge in the engine execution improvements.

Pros

Best in the colour Grading softwaresUser Freindly UIThe software is pretty smooth and responsive in terms of rendering the FootageBasic System Requiremennts are enough to run the software SmoothlyAll the tools required to edit a video is built in the software itself which makes it easier for the user to complete the project in one software itself

Cons

Noise Reduction is only available in paid versionWhile it has all the features ...all of them are not well integrattedpaid version costs a bit higher
