Pros The drag-and-drop feature is not as limited as many free softwares that are used to create dashboards and reports. On the other hand, the Storytelling function helps to access the original analysis Cons It does not have a function to establish specific schedules to receive BI reports through an email. I would highly recommend using a Qlik partner for the implementation as they can provide developers with the experience to set up a really powerful set of dashboards. Pros We had some fairly advanced requirements for business dashboards and QlikSense was able to offer the functionality to do all of them. You can connect with a very wide range of systems thanks to brilliant API support. The dashboards look really good and it can be integrated in to other systems. Cons It is fairly expensive and for a beginner it can be quite daunting to do anything more advanced. The server software is also fairly resource intensive so hosting it in the cloud can get quite expensive. Review Source David K. I have worked on both QlikView which is a guided analytic tool and Qlik Sense which is a self service tool. Both has pros and cons. Pros 1\. It is self service BI tool, ease to use. 2. It has both ETL and Data Viz layer 3. Business user with structure data can quickly create dashboards out of it and share with others 4.It supports sending static reports through NPrinitng and embedding to another web application through Mash up. Pros I appreciate the visuals. When we're dealing with large amounts of data, visual aids are key. It is a great tool to use for presentations to customers, we can just drag and drop any field as we speak and show the results immediately. The solution runs great and has never fail to us even being Cloud based. Seamless integration with our Oracle DB. We can use Qlik to pull in data from every source to help us analyze our the business is performing. We combine Qlik with NPrinting to automate many reports that are sent all around the organization. Cons We needed to purchase a separate piece of software to automate reporting. It is just 'good' overall, not the best, from my own personal experience at least. Comparing it to Tableau, it stands no chance. Cons Very weak customer service, don't expect to get much help when you are stuck, unless you are part of an online community that might help you. Easy to manage with Azure and overall cost effective with a low or high user count. Medium sized it is more costly than other solutions, unless you plan on eventually ramping up to 500+ users and can then leverage the token pricing model. Pros Puts self discovery in the hands of the analysts in each Business Unit. Let's us centrally manage data, governance and security with ease. Cons I do not like the "token" model for licenses, it is confusing and challenging to stay on top of. Paying for add-on connectors and features like GeoAnalytics and NPrinting is a turnoff, as they are very valuable tools, but should be included in the premium price of Qlik Sense already. Capacity Analyst Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great software, easy to customize front end apps" October 12, 2016 4.0 Qlik Sense has helped us analyze hundreds of millions of lines of data quickly and efficiently, with relative ease to how we were operating previously. We are one of the rare customers that does not work with sales data, rather security services with staffing levels, compliance performance variables, service forecasting, etc. This has made it a little difficult to get help from the Qlik Community and Qlik directly as every example is geared towards financial information or selling goods. There is a distinct lack of resources out there if your company is in the same boat as us. We have had multiple staff members go through Qlik courses and we purchased the official book for Qlik Sense that was available at the time, which only covers the very basics. Once you have your data connections flowing, and you spend the time learning and experiencing the product, you will start to benefit a lot more than taking the training (my opinion). The program itself is great, and it is amazing how fast and efficiently you can zoom in and out of enormous levels of data. My example would be to see a yearly total of hours billed, then each click zooms a level --> Year, Month, Week, Day, Hour, Minute of 900 staff members punching at 25 different locations at various times of the day at a 24 hour operation, then right back out to the yearly view. There is no slow down, the transitions are almost seamless. Pros The quickness and ease of building tables, charts, graphs, etc. in the front end. Cons There is a distinct lack of technical resources when you are not dealing with sales and financial data. Review Source GA Gustavo A. Pros It's intuitive and dynamic, I can load the data from many different inputs and analyze with the large set of tools that QlikSense has. It can also handle huge amount of data with ease, and this is a big plus compared to other solutions. Cons It sometimes lacks some features that are available in QlikView, which is probably more complete. It also has some graphics issues (not bugs), for example lined charts shows missing data with a straight line instead of empty lines. From analytics to financial statements and even reporting. If you have the experience, Qlik sense can be an undeniably strong tool for any business. Pros Qlik sense by itself can be a little lacklustre at times—but with the help of extensions—most problems and shortcomings can easily be overcome, making it very versatile in most situations. Cons On the other side of the coin, the base product can be lacking in some aspects without the use of said extensions. You need to do to research, as well as testing to find the right extensions to solve your issues.
