The software is very straight forward, easy to understand, has lots of good features, and when I ran into a few problems \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] Support helped us the same day, we didn't have to wait long and that right there is a huge awesome thing. Being able to quickly put together a photo album that they can share with others will be great. Pros Heyzine does what I need for an affordable price, when I was looking for a place to put together digital photo albums for my clients I found quite a few options but so many were WAY above anything I could afford as a small business owner just starting out. Some were about the same price but the PDF was created solely on their site and their site was not very functional (IMO.) To be fair, I am also a QA Engineer of 15 years and when something doesn’t work well I tend to move on pretty quickly.One thing I like about Heyzine is that I can create my PDF in Canva, export directly to Heyzine, and just add little extras as needed. They thing that sealed the deal for me was the customer support at Heyzine, I only had one small issue when using the product, and it wasn’t a deal breaker I just wanted to mention it if they could one day fix it. I didn’t expect much. Again, aside from my own business, I also work in software development and sometimes it takes us MONTHS to fix a tiny issue. To my surprise, I quickly had someone troubleshooting with me via email. Unfortunately, we could not fix it via troubleshooting but the kind customer support person sent my issue on to the team to hopefully fix it. I didn’t really expect to hear anything more after this.Again, Heyzine blew my expectations out of the water by not only listening to my issue but actually fixing the issue the exact same day!!Their customer support and turnaround time is TOP NOTCH. 5 stars Cons There’s nothing I don’t like necessarily. February 14, 2023 5.0 Pros We're so grateful to have discovered Heyzine through its integration with Canva. Being able to take our Canva designs and bring them to life as a flipbook has been a game changer. As authors of the children's picture book My Friend Breath, having a digital way to present the book that looks and sounds like reading a physical book is amazing. For our Playtime Practice book, we can add our breathing pattern youtube video clips to autoplay right within the flipbook which helps us to increase engagement and entertainment for our customers. We've also really appreciated the features of customizing the setup, adding a custom URL slug, and embedding the flipbook onto our website. We highly recommend this system for your digital flipbook needs! Cons I don't have any "cons" to share, we have thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated our Heyzine experience to date. In terms of additional functionality requests, when I enquired with Heyzine about the ability to include the design animations from within Canva they let me know this is something on Canva's end that they are working on which will be an exciting additional feature when it is ready! It has all worked well and been very straight forward. Pros This is an excellent application for creating flip books. It is very easy to use and yet has many of the bells and whistles found on much more expensive packages. There are options to customise the overall look from book to slider to cards, plenty of customisation of controls, colours and so on. Links can be added though we have not used this feature. Support was prompt and helpful. All this in a notably inexpensive product. Cons Nothing much not to like. The index of flip books created would benefit from having folders rather than a single page. Reason for choosing Heyzine It offers unlimited books. This is important as we embed a lot of short booklets in our website. We are not creating a catalogue type of flip book. Heyzine was exactly what I needed. Pros Heyzine makes everything incredibly easy. If you have a PDF of your magazine it's only a few clicks away from being online as an interactive flipbook. Links are automatically generated. It's white label, with even a small amount of customization available. You can embed on your website. It's budget friendly. Heyzine was advertised to me through Canva and has been a very welcome addition to my bag of tricks. Several teams in my church have had me utilize this for them and we have had hundreds of viewers - all with great feedback! Bonus - it has lowered our need for physical printing, lowering our spending and allowing us to use that budget for alternate projects. Has certainly paid for itself several times over. Pros I love how easy Heyzine is, and how it integrates with Canva! It only took a few clicks to set up my first flipbook, and linking directly in my Canva dashboard is a must. I don't have to download my project, figure out margins, or anything. Within seconds I have a great looking flipbook I can send to congregant members, potential investors, and more. I can customize the page with colors/logos with several different brands or themes (a must when we design based on season) per project without changing anything that has been previously used. I also enjoy how easy it is to embed these flipbooks on a website - both with SquareSpace and Wordpress. Cons Overall I'm very happy - but if I had to nitpick - I wish any updates I make to my Canva project would update to the flipbook without having to recreate the entire flipbook. This could be manual with an "Update" button, or even automatically when the Canva project "saves". Heyzine allows me to be as creative as I love to be and upload the material without the hassle of trying to make the pdf smaller. Because its on PDF upload I can use any design program . I also love that my questions are answered anytime of the day or night so deadlines are not held back because I have to wait for a reply from support if I have a question. They enable my company to continue to be cost efficient and the simplicity of the software means I can focus on the quality of the finished product. I also love that I can update after its been published. Pros The absolute ease of use. As it was inexpensive to upgrade to the professional version, I found Heyzine to be full of the features I needed to make my online magazines easy to link and make interactive for those who read them. Their support team answers my questions personally and that makes all the difference. Every option is designed to make catalogues, magazines and other material simple to create. I use it for my CV, catalogues, references and much more. Stands head and shoulders above the rest. Their free version didn't require my credit card so I got to use it well before purchasing it Cons Background audio. I love that I can have background audio for my readers bit there isn't a volume control and it doesn't stop when a video or audio link is activated. There is a workaround where you can stop it and start it again after the video or audio but my magazines have many links to audio and video so that takes too long. As far as volume goes I have to try and make the music softer in Audacity before adding it. Also creating a sub domain means that existing catalogues and magazines that have a sub domain also change so it means that if you publish that link, it no longer works after you change the sub domain to a new one. Reason for choosing Heyzine Because its free version didn't have a time limit so I was able to create one or two and share with clients and make an informed decision to sign up. June 8, 2023 5.0 My overall experience with Heyzine has been superb and I recommend them to friends and colleagues whenever I can! Pros I miss the old days of real magazines that you held in your hands. Being able to turn our PDF into page flipping goodness is just so awesome! We create a quarterly magazine and instead of just the same old online magazine that has always just been a website and nothing more, Heyzine's flipbook platform allows for something completely unique and visually stimulating. Plus, their platform has so many awesome options, like including links and videos. The viewer can also listen to music while flipping through our magazine. It's very user friendly and the customer service is fantastic! Cons The ONLY thing that I don't even think can be approved upon is that these flipbooks are not very viewable on smartphones. They CAN be viewed on smartphones, but the page-flipping goodness is deflated because the viewer has to zoon in to read the text. But hey, maybe everyone can stop using smartphones all the time and start using devices with larger monitors for a change. I think this would be a step in the right direction for mankind anyway as it would be the beginning of less miscommunications for one thing. Canva has LOTS of other cool features, so now I work with Swift Publisher to initially set up my publication, then bring it to Canva to zjoosh it up and then bring it over to Heyzine to add all the cool integrations.
