"SmugMug – Simply the best"
Overall: Excellent. I love the package.
Pros: It's ease of use. It is a brilliant platform to show and share my images with family as well as with clients. The IOS auto upload is brilliant for backing up iPhone photos and it does this automatically.
Cons: if I search for keywords I would like to be able to select all those photos and collect them into a new gallery. This is not possible at the moment.
"SmugMug wins my biggest Hug!"
Overall: I needed an App that would house unlimited amounts of images and I had tried out a few apps which disappointed. My search now stops at SmugMug.
Pros: Continues to upload pictures from your device in real time.
Cons: Even if I went searching for it, there were no qualms or cons that I'm aware of.
"SmugMug versus the world"
Overall: The experience was a bit laborious at first, the time to discover how the interface works and its limitations. The interface seems to me less pleasant and less simple than several competing tools, and the limitations imposed by the platform pushed me not to finalize my purchase and to turn to another more powerful product for the same price range
Pros: I appreciated the opportunity to test the platform for an extended period of time. It allows you to really create your own site. SmuMug allows you to quickly visualize the result, as well as the changes you want to make.
Cons: The operating tree and the interface are less simple and less fluid than some competing products. The fact that for certain functions such as the sale and printing of photos, you can only choose one of the three service providers present on the site has been for me a real brake on the purchase and has pushed me to use a third party solution.Although useful and pleasant once you understand how the interface works, SmugMug and this for my activity seemed to me to lack flexibility and intuitiveness.
"Would Prefer Other Products "
Pros: Smugmug is fairly inexpensive compared to other photo delivery platforms.
Cons: I do not like the set up and do not think it looks professional
"My First Software Review: Broken Hearted and Angry"
Overall: SmugMug was where we put any image online that we wanted to sell. It worked well. They tried to get us paid, claimed they couldn't get ahold of us, removed our access to our paid account causing us to miss a crucial deadline and then tried to justify their actions with no restitution or sincere apology.
Pros: It's a great platform, used it for years. They destroyed my faith, trust & confidence in them after the way they handled something that wasn't even an issue.
Cons: Customer Service Justified their actions to me using outright lies and offered no restitution to my issue nor did they take any responsibility for their actions.
"NOT for photographers"
Overall: I felt taken advantage of when I realized about the 15% per transaction. However, customer service was extremely nice and cancelled my plan and provided a full refund. The people there are extremely nice, I believe it's just a bad management decision about not being upfront with the 15% fees. That just makes the website super expensive without providing more features like almost every other platform out there.
Pros: The best thing was their file management system. Did take some time to get used to, but in the end it was fairly easy to use.
Cons: They have HIDDEN FEES. After purchasing a $30 a month plan, you expect not to pay anything more. But after I spent days preparing my website, I realized I still have to pay 15% per each transaction! This fee wasn't mentioned when buying the plan. It was hidden somewhere in the guides.
"Switched years ago- prior experience "
Pros: I used smugmug in its early days so I’m sure it’s come a long way but at the time it seemed like a dream to share clients catalogs of images and protect them.
Cons: Again, my experience with this software was in its early days. The cost was high and you couldn’t get around measures to share an account. There wasn’t a way to brand yourself. And it was a rather lengthy process to set up and continue to upload. I’m sure it’s much different now.
