### "Great resource"

Pear deck is a resource I used almost daily either with distance learning or in class instruction. It is engaging and useful.

Pros

Pear deck is s great resource for keeping students' attention and for immediate feedback. This allowed me to help my students during synchronous time.

Cons

There is a feature where I can have my students go at their own pace, I wish that I could have all my students on the same deck where some can be student paced and others are still in instructor pace.

My overall experience with Pear Deck has been good! I like how interactive it is, and I believe that my students enjoy it much more than a boring slideshow/lecture. So, thanks Pear Deck!

Pros

The thing I liked most about Pear Deck was interactive it was on the student side. They were able to write, draw, select from a multiple-choice list, and more. I believe this helped a lot with keeping students interested during distance learning. I also really appreciated that it was an add-on to Google Slides, rather than a separate program, because it allowed me to add Pear Deck to my existing slideshows.

Cons

There isn't much I don't like about Pear Deck, but there is one problem. When using the free version, there are only about 3 limited interactive tools at my disposal. I do understand that Pear Deck needs to make money somehow, but I would appreciate more interactive tools in the free version.

### "Make your slides interactive, great choice"

Overall, this has been a great extension for google slides and I'm glad my school has started using it. It allows in-time teaching to be more interactive and give all students a voice who may not always be inclined to raise their hand and share.

Pros

I love that this can be added to Google Slides to make them interactive. Students can do it while at home or in class, which is great, and easily connect from their iPads. I like that students enjoy it too. It has a lot of options. I also like how it turns maybe not-so-interesting lessons into interactive engaging ones. In addition, it allows me to do pre-assessments, during, and post-assessments well to check for student understanding. I also appreciate how it is very "on trend" and relevant.

Cons

There was a larger learning curve than I'd like for adding it on, how to deploy it, etc. One other bad thing is that if you have a large class, that many students writing on or interacting with one slide can be chaotic. Wondering if there are ways to improve this. It is also hard to tell who is writing what. You run into risk of kids writing or drawing things off task, which is never fun behavior management to deal with.

I use it daily because my first graders find it user friendly.

Pros

Pear Deck allows a teacher to see her students’ work in real-time and therefore make better instructional decisions. Pear Deck allows students to write on slides, answer multiple-choice questions, and drag up to five shapes.

Cons

This software could improve by allowing teachers to upload their own draggables and allow more than five draggables on a slide. Additionally, the customer service is very limited. I’ve had a student unable to access the slides for a couple of weeks now. Waiting to hear back from Pear Deck because my school’s technical support has not found a solution on their end. Additionally, I’ve google my student’s problem and haven’t found a solution. I am tech savvy.

Pros

I love the ease of use for both students and teachers while using Pear Deck.

Cons

Pear Deck is so wonderful but I wish it was Free for the premium features. I used the free version and was very pleased.

Pros

Pear Deck is very engaging and learners can have fun while learning different concepts and principles. It can be used for simple games and as an assessment tool to reinforce concepts. It is a great add-on for Google Slide and can be used as the main learning platform for a lesson. It can be used to synchronous and asynchronous learning.

Cons

Some of the features are premium and requires payment.

It's a really really great platform! I'm so thankful we purchased it as it makes learning interactive and much more seamless during these times.

Pros

Online learning is HARD. Pear Deck makes is much easier, and is one of my favorite platforms for e-learning so far. It has great features, particularly the ability to save student results as evidence of learning. I truly love it!

Cons

It took me a while to figure out how to use it seamlessly. It's got a lot of great features and isn't necessarily difficult to figure out, but require time and focus to do so.

### "Easy to the Eyes"

It was great at first but in the later part of using it, I noticed that lesser and lesser of my students are showing work. I think more of them will be engaged if at the end of the lesson, I will have a grade that reflects how much they did and it can be pushed to their gradebook so that they are aware that it is important to do their notes.

Pros

The color and how it presented is fun, warm and light to the eyes. Students and teacher like the features because it looks fun. It has templates for checking which is awesome. Teacher dashboard is really great and very easy to use for every class.

Cons

I hope I can combine 2 options in the same slide. Like drawing and quiz . I hope the when I do quiz like question, I can put in the key so that I can see real time who missed it and who got it.

Reason for choosing Pear Deck

Peardeck is user friendly, colorful and has templates available. This is what I like most about this product Go formative helps me monitor my students progress real time and it's graded. So students are forced to do the notes. I can also pushed the grade in the grade book. It is not an eye candy as peardeck but its plus points outweigh the peardeck's plus points. If I can combine this 2 products, it will be awesome.

While peardeck is a nice interactive platform I found others that I prefer. I use peardeck about once a month when a coworker shares her assignments.

Cons

I have found other interactive platforms that have more features like students recording in the lesson. I use peardeck when coworker creates a lesson and shares.

Pros

I love the versatility of Pear Deck and how easy it is for students to use! I love that the answers can be anonymous to create a safe learning environment.

Cons

Sometime the program can be a bit plain and not as customizable as I would like. Especially for an art classroom.

Pear Deck offers great online and learning support for implementation by educators and allows them to create engaging, interactive learning for students.

Pros

Pear Deck allows teachers to interact and engage students in individual and whole class learning. The interactive slides create ways for students to communicate their learning while creatively participating. The ability to assign the deck to students for completion on their time sets the stage for successful differentiation, and the option to add sound can accommodate all learners.

Cons

Name and date decks in a way that will allow you to track your classes easily. When using the same assignment for multiple classes it can be a little cumbersome to find a specific class.

Pear Deck provides a great way to make presentations more interactive and allows students to interact directly within the slideshow. With a Google Classroom and Google Drive integration, including it in the presentation is easy and seamless.

Cons

One of the most appealing features of Pear Deck is the ability to create draggable elements on the slides. Unfortunately, the appearance of these draggable elements is severely limited and is also only available for a fixed number of elements.

Pros

Pear Deck is a very useful tool to reinforce and assess skills that are taught in the classroom. When creating, a teacher can make all sort of lessons that will help students practice what they learn. The teacher dashboard enables the teachers to see exactly which student is struggling on any topic.

Cons

Though our school encourages us to use programs like these, I found it difficult for my students to navigate. Of course they are preschoolers and they would get distracted by just about anything, so it was difficult to get a true assessment on a child's learning. I also found it very time consuming and a bit confusing when creating the lessons. I know I should practice and play with this program more so that I could be efficient at creating lessons, but I was quickly discouraged and confused, so I don't use the program often. It would be nice if they could create some ready made lessons for young children that teachers could access--perhaps there are some "out there", but I haven't found them.

This program removed the distractions of students moving to other internet distractions. All students worked at the same pace and answers were displayed anonymously to avoid embarrassment.

Pros

Pear deck ease of use, I could work from my google slides, and it was easy to take my slides to a more interactive level from anywhere. I liked the options available for free, though if I paid, I would have more.

Cons

I have to pay to get other options that I don't have in the free version.

Pros

I love how easy it is to insert interactive slides into an existing presentation! The templates entice students to participate and make it very easy and fast to up the level of a Google Slides presentation to something kids have to interact with. I also find it helpful that the slides can be used by synchronous or asynchronous. The free version is great too!

Cons

This program is expensive and out of reach for most teachers to pay out of pocket. I had some difficulty using it at my school due to district web controls. At home it was great!
