Pros

Ease of use. It is a very user friendly program. I like that you can access reports directly from certain modules.

Cons

You can't run a report of all the Fall Risk Assessment scores or Braden scores, etc. and you can only send certain UDA's via secure messages. Why can't you send any/all of them?

In my 35 years in the industry, I have been through many software changes, both on the AR side and the clinical side. All of them have been challenging, to say the least... but once PCC is implemented, it's hands down the best I've used. Our care partners such as doctors and labs, etc. all appreciate our facilities that use PCC. It's the only application I have ever used that is continually dedicated to improving and adding value to their product.

Pros

The interoperability between PCC and billing systems such as eligibility, authorizations, claims submission and payments is superb. These integrations save the business office a lot of time that was previously spent on calling for authorizations, exporting claims, tracking and posting payments, etc. This allows for a more streamlined business office operation, which results in timely payments and the ability to have a great KPI report every month.

Cons

In the beginning, setup for new acquisitions was onerous and difficult to navigate. The one thing we learned was to gather the information for the facility and let PCC do the setup.

Our company has been using the product since 2018, coming from another EHR platform, PCC was easier to transition to and remains easier to train on with new facilities coming on each year. It's hard to find a nurse in the Midwest that has not use the product at some time in their Long Term Care career.

Pros

The product is easy for end users to learn and use. The data that comes out in reports assist in providing patient care and improving outcomes.

Cons

The cost associated with extra packages. As a large company, getting everyone to use the extra packages we have to pay for can be difficult. We have started some (Nursing Advantage and Insights) and had to cancel them due to non use or due to the nurses not using the product as intended.

We have been using the PCC Skilled Nursing Core Platform for 17 years. I believe that it is the best EHR on the market anywhere. PointClickCare has become a true partner that exemplifies the "we all in this together" ideal. They strive to keep improving and changing with the times along with our facility and all of their facilities across the US and Canada.

Pros

The PCC Skilled Nursing Core Platform is a continuously growing, adaptable EHR. It allows SNFs to streamline documentation and prioritize resident care. It also provides exceptional financial solutions for billing, account management, and reimbursement. PointClickCare does a fantastic job of keeping ahead of regulations and provides frequent updates to enhance capabilities. The Skilled Nursing Core Platform can also be expanded by adding modules or marketplace integrations that seamlessly combine and make it the only software necessary for complete resident care. If you haven't looked at PointClickCare recently, I would definitely recommend taking another look.

Cons

The only major issue that I have with the Skilled Nursing Core Platform is that there is currently not a way to have standard tasks auto-create based on orders. This takes time from our nursing staff to assign redundant tasks that are common sense and should be automatic. Since this is my biggest complaint after 17 years, there is not much to dislike about the platform.

I especially value the integration of additional solutions like the Skin and Wound module, which allows for detailed tracking and management of wound care, and Document Manager, which helps streamline document storage and retrieval. The platform’s ability to integrate with other third-party vendors has also been a major advantage, allowing for a more connected ecosystem and reducing the need for duplicate data entry. Overall, it has greatly contributed to improving efficiency, compliance, and the quality of resident care.

Pros

What I liked most about the PCC Platform was its ability to streamline resident care coordination through real-time documentation, comprehensive care planning tools, and seamless communication across interdisciplinary teams. The platform significantly improved workflow efficiency, which ultimately enhanced patient outcomes and staff productivity."

Cons

What I liked least about the Platform was the need to enter or update the same information in multiple areas of the system at times. This sometimes led to inefficiencies and increased the risk of inconsistencies in documentation. It would be more efficient if updates made in one section automatically reflected across all relevant areas, reducing duplication and saving time for staff.

A+ Very positive experience with this platform. Creative, innovative solutions, ahead of changes with updating program as regulations are always changing, back up by their knowledgeable and helpful support staff!

Pros

Skilled Nursing Core Platform manages everything our SNF needs: EHR, meets CMS requirements, PDPM, MDS, Nursing Assessments, Therapy Integration, billing, reports, ongoing training, program updates and with in the platform self helps available and extra support from you facility Case Manager and with an online community or PCC users on The Pulse. We are using the core SNF program and have Nursing Advantage. We are looking at adding on IPC, Wound Care and PDPM.

Cons

Can be cost prohibitive for the add on items, especially for smaller facilities with under 50 residents. The extra options are top notch and would be very useful, it is just harder to cover the costs when it is for a single facility with limited resources related to size of our rural facility. Would be nice if PCC could offer options related to the size of facility, # of residents and cost be adjusted for that.

PointClickCare goes above and beyond with innovation, they keep customers informed of changes to come to healthcare and they truly listen to their customers and involve them in updates and enhancements. Plus, they have an amazing online community where users can connect and network.

Pros

PointClickCare provides structure following evidence based guidelines while also allowing the customer to tailor the software to work for them. There are phenomenal reports for both clinical and financial, and a great portal to access for customer support questions. We are confident in the ability of PointClickCare to keep our data secure.

Cons

We would love to have a bit more capabilities in the ordering aspect (go to care plan, task, hard stops). Overall the ordering functionality is very user friendly.

I have found Point Click Care to be more in line with our facility as opposed to AHT. Month End Closing process runs smoothly as well.

Pros

I have found the PCC to be very user friendly and, as long as you enter data correctly, it informs you of deadlines coming up .

Cons

When processing Triple Checks Monthly, you have to go back and forth unnecessarily to complete each task.
