### "5 Star Review"

July 30, 2025

5.0

I have found Point Click Care to be more in line with our facility as opposed to AHT. Month End Closing process runs smoothly as well.

Pros

I have found the PCC to be very user friendly and, as long as you enter data correctly, it informs you of deadlines coming up .

Cons

When processing Triple Checks Monthly, you have to go back and forth unnecessarily to complete each task.

### "Skilled Nursing PCC is easy to use and train, a must have for a company wanted to move forward in healthcare. "

September 16, 2025

5.0

Our company has been using the product since 2018, coming from another EHR platform, PCC was easier to transition to and remains easier to train on with new facilities coming on each year. It's hard to find a nurse in the Midwest that has not use the product at some time in their Long Term Care career.

Pros

The product is easy for end users to learn and use. The data that comes out in reports assist in providing patient care and improving outcomes.

Cons

The cost associated with extra packages. As a large company, getting everyone to use the extra packages we have to pay for can be difficult. We have started some (Nursing Advantage and Insights) and had to cancel them due to non use or due to the nurses not using the product as intended.

### "Review PCC"

January 19, 2023

3.0

Overall I like the desire to build better, make communications better. The idea that it doesn't have to always be the same.

Pros

The interventions within the care plans. Varies links within the system, allowing the ability to link documentation.

Cons

new features have faults in updating. Sometimes it is hard to get error corrected/to physically speak with someone who can assist. the 672/802 format could be updated. We had Matrix before, the work flow was easier and saved time compared to PCC.

### "PCC review from a user with experience from end user to admin and clinical configuration managment"

December 11, 2024

4.0

I have been using point click care for 10+ years. I have used the system both in the LTPAC and ALF settings. I have been a direct care staff (CNA, RN), a member of middle and upper management, and finally within a corporate level software management team (clinical informatics) This means I have been an end user, a super user, and finally part of a team that manages the configuration of our PCC system in my organization. I am currently the lead on clinical configuration and impact along with the lead in security and in admin configuration. I provide training videos on how to use the PCC system to the end users of our SNF organization.

Pros

I believe that PCC is one of the simplest user friendly EHR systems available. There are many advantages that make it easier to train the software to new users and enough advanced tips and tricks to teach seasoned veterans of the system more efficient ways of completing their documentation so they can spend more time with the patients completing direct care.

Cons

There are many limitations to the reporting within PCC. Some of these limitations include report output formats (most not available in excel format which is the easiest to complete audits and data analysis on). Other issues with reporting include the omission of key points of information that we are not able to extract from the system at all. There are very few EMC level reports in comparison to facility level reports. Other cons of the system is that is missing basic clinical functions like output and intake tracking. My current organization utilizes custom UDAs so that we can tailor our forms to match our policies an procedures. While there are many features in the custom uda tool box there are items available in other software that make the forms better. Examples include better diagrams for the body including those that specialize in wounds and oral/dental assessment. Another feature I would love to see is a question in the format of a table that can be filled out by the user. I have submitted many enhancement requests over the years for most of the items that I have written in this box.

Switched from

[SigmaCare](https://www.capterra.com/p/229615/SigmaCare/)

We made the switch to PCC because of the ease of use with PCC compared to sigma however the reporting capabilities of sigma were far superior along with custom uda options.

### "PCC - An AR/Systems Perspective"

October 20, 2025

5.0

In my 35 years in the industry, I have been through many software changes, both on the AR side and the clinical side. All of them have been challenging, to say the least... but once PCC is implemented, it's hands down the best I've used. Our care partners such as doctors and labs, etc. all appreciate our facilities that use PCC. It's the only application I have ever used that is continually dedicated to improving and adding value to their product.

Pros

The interoperability between PCC and billing systems such as eligibility, authorizations, claims submission and payments is superb. These integrations save the business office a lot of time that was previously spent on calling for authorizations, exporting claims, tracking and posting payments, etc. This allows for a more streamlined business office operation, which results in timely payments and the ability to have a great KPI report every month.

Cons

In the beginning, setup for new acquisitions was onerous and difficult to navigate. The one thing we learned was to gather the information for the facility and let PCC do the setup.

We remain committed to continuous improvement and delivering tools that make your work easier.

### "Enhancing Care Coordination and Compliance"

October 29, 2025

5.0

My experience with the Skilled Nursing Core Platform has been positive. It offers strong clinical functionality that supports documentation accuracy, care coordination, and regulatory compliance. The system is designed with skilled nursing workflows in mind, which helps streamline daily processes and improves visibility into resident care needs.

Pros

The platform provides a comprehensive set of tools tailored specifically for skilled nursing workflows. It helps streamline clinical documentation, enhances care coordination, and supports regulatory compliance

Cons

Some routine workflows still rely heavily on manual entry rather than automated triggers, which increases the burden on staff and can impact efficiency.

### "Embrace change"

July 30, 2024

4.0

Overall, it has been good. The customer support team are there when you need them. I like that I am able to call customer support as well as open a ticket when I cannot do something easily.

Pros

I like being able to access different aspects of PCC from different areas. This makes it easy to switch in between screens. Occasionally, I will find it on my own by accident.

Cons

Coming from a different platform, it has sometimes been difficult to find exactly what I am looking for in PCC. For example, the Bowel Report lists each resident on their own page, it would be helpful for it to be more like a spreadsheet so that at-a-glance, my staff can identify people that may need to have a BM this shift.

### "Best platform for clinical team"

May 31, 2023

4.0

Just the overall ease of an almost complete EHR system is a game changer.

Pros

I have been involved in a few software implementations and PCC was the most user friendly for nursing teams.

Cons

We use pharmacy centric medications which allows a double check between pharmacy and nurses. I would love to see this platform enhanced to a full functional bidirectional system where the provider could enter the order, it would be transferred to the pharmacy software for review and then to the nurse to confirm.

Overall, I have a very positive experience with the Skilled Nursing Core Platform. If I have any issues, I can turn to the team around me on campus for assitance or receive help from other PCC users on the Pulse.

Pros

I appreciate the easy to follow and detailed reports provided on the Skilled Nursing Core Platform provided by PointClickCare. The modules provided for different departments are specialized and easy to use and understand.

Cons

Pros

PCC has great ease of use once familiarized with its functions. It flows fairly easily.

Cons

January 6, 2025

Hi Jamie, Thank you very much for completing an online review. We are delighted that PointClickCare flows smoothly for you and your team. We also appreciate your feedback on the MDS and wish we could help, but this will require an update from CMS. The MDS has undergone several changes. One significant update is that race and ethnicity are now interview questions that must be answered by the resident or a family member / legal guardian when completing every MDS. Consequently, the answers to these questions may change (highly unlikely, we know), but due to this change, this information cannot be automatically pulled from the electronic health record. We apologize for this inconvenience but want to ensure compliance with MDS regulations. I hope this helps. Thank you again for your valuable input. PointClickCare Team

### "PCC Skilled Nursing Platform"

February 2, 2024

5.0

Overall the charting within the platform is easy, no complaints.

Pros

One great feature is the care profile, the fact that nursing can post important information for all to see in special instructions and it flows to eMAR and POC is great. Having eMAR and POC integrated with the database really allows for a comprehensive EHR platform. The ability to see if real time on the dashboard documentation completion in eMAR and POC is a great tool. The ability to update orders as well as the features under batch update in orders tab is a wonderful feature.

Cons

There are no cons, but wanted to add this to the review. With a background in acute care using Epic as an EHR I strongly feel that PCC is the highest level database for long term care.

### "Nursing platform"

May 28, 2024

4.0

Pros

The ease of use and how the who platform is integrated to make one action launch the follow up tasks is such a game changer, also it makes it so we do not miss a piece when handling multiple tasks at once. The medication administration has areas to record progress notes right from the MAR, saving time and ensuring the important info is not forgotten between changing screens.

Cons

When we first rolled out PCC nursing platform there were some issues with figuring out the nuances of order entry, such as our set up auto triggered location documentation for each treatment even though that was included in the order. Once we figured out how to fix that it became much easier to enter said orders and for the front line nurses to administer meds and sign off.

### "Skeptial at first but not any more!"

Once we actually started using and billing from the platform and seeing the capabilities, I am glad we made the switch. The platform is easy to use. I love the fact that payer eligibility can be run within the system and does not need to be done using an outside service. I also like that all resident billing, records, etc are within their profiles. This makes it very easy to find information needed.

Pros

Easy to use, integrates with our clearing house. It is easy to bill for skilled nursing. I like that all documents are saved within the system so everything is in the resident's record.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind at this time. The only thing that was least liked was the conversion. This platform is totally different than what our previous software offered so the conversion was a bit challenging.

### "Point Click Care!"

April 22, 2024

5.0

Pros

I find it quite simple to use and adapt to. The reporting that is available within the system saves time and energy that can be better spent elsewhere. The addon's that PCC has are endless and allow for a facility to grow its Quality and Compliance Program.

Cons

It takes time to learn the extra features if you don't have someone that is skilled with knowing how the system functions. You get little time with PCC experts to get you set up and watching videos and reading instructions just takes time.

### "PCC SN Platform"

January 2, 2023

5.0

The dashboard provides a quick overview to assist clincians in understanding their patient's needs and what needs to be prioritized.

Pros

All modules within the software are easy to use and provide a great platform for use in the post acute environment.

Cons

While the software is great, there is space for improvement. Some terminology and workflows don't always make sense and can actually create more work for the clinician. PCC does do a great job at continued improvement and takes a firm stance at listening to their customers.
