It is super convenient that a learnie is basically 2-3 minutes and then you can go on with your life! I feel like it’s apart of the new wave of learning on the go. I do wish there was more functionality with the app like close captions and community message (like slack) but minor and I know that they’re gonna work on that in the future Pros I love that I can make course material and lessons that cater to my students with short bursts through micro-learning. Gone are the days where we have to watch a 30 minute video just to get core concepts Cons I do feel like the app is missing some functionality it is a bit glitchy at times & can be a little slow. I’ve also heard from students that upon payment they get confused on next steps on how to enter the community. I made a video for them but I wish I didn’t have to. It is an absolutely amazing platform to share information in a great way. It was easy to setup and to manage. The entire Learnie team is awesome and helped me every step of the way. I couldn't have done this without them. Pros What is there not to like about Learnie!! I love the ease of use of the software. It's very easy to get started and tons of Learnies and documentation to read to set up your community. You have a team dedicated to helping you get started and to succeed. Learnie has me more excited than I've been in years that an app can directly contribute to behavior change in communities! Pros Learnie is polishing the organic shift in training, education and certification apps to community-driven micro-learning bursts. It's clear that the pedogogy is more fun, engaging, effective and authentic for all ages. Cons The fact that it's hard to convince certain organizations to recognize they need to dump their dusty, stale LMS systems and training modlaities is the only challenge with Learnie. Studies prove that micro learning is the way people want to learn and it is happening gradually with non-profit, NGO, and double bottom line focused clients. Reason for choosing Learnie For the stakeholders launching large scale public awareness and social impact campaigns, you need "new," "fun," "fresh," and of course, "effective." Learnie helped us get started and we we're off to the races...literally, there is no barrier to getting your teams, audiences, members, or employees right on Learnie and creating, LEARNING and enjoying the process. It keeps us together as a group and allows students in the cohorts to create their own microbursts. This helps them retain both the message and the positive energy of our group. Pros The microbursts allow the message to be refined with no waste. It makes the giver of the information remove the fluff and focus on the important stuff. Overall I enjoyed using the app on both sides of the learning process. Pros I had the privilege of doing a couple of lessons for Learnie and the experience was wonderful. On the student side, it is very easy to learn a new skill, and from the instructor side, it couldn't be easier to upload a lesson. Very pleased with this software and definitely recommend it. August 5, 2022 5.0 For my IT work, I've used Learnie to document specific application issues (our web applications often require instructions when installing, and a User Guide is often too long and boring to read). For my Property Management work, I've used Learnie to update my tenants about how to use various on-site appliances, how to fix common problems in their apartment, to communicate updated street parking instructions based on local events or construction, details on a porch pirate who's been stealing packages, etc. Additionally, my tenants use Learnie to communicate important issues among themselves, e.g. to document a stalking incident they had at the park, to offer items or services for sale, to ask advice, etc. Pros How simple and flexible it is to install and use, and how it encourages communities to share and improve knowledge. Cons The hierarchical structure between and within the various knowledge domains can use some improving, e.g. which Learnie videos are the essential ones and which ones are more peripheral, how to navigate easily between different but related knowledge domains, etc. Review Source DS David S. I’ve uploaded 20+ Learnies so far and find them fun. I’ve recommended this to friends who are interested in short bursts of trainings. Pros This was very easy to use as someone new to the app. I liked how it forced me to be succinct in my training. Cons The audio quality is still a little lacking for voiceovers, but it’s just fine for videos.
