Pros

UserList is such a great tool to build automatic email sequences based on customer's behaviour. Integrating into our systems was super easy and they have a great API to send customer data like custom events and such. We also use it to send email newsletter broadcasts to all our customers Before we used Intercom but we weren't happy with that at all and way too expensive. After implementing UserList the software was paying for itself already after a couple of days. Conversions went up and expansion revenue kicked in. UserList is very easy to use and looks wonderful. The messages that my customers are seeing look great as well.

Cons

Nothing I can think of right now. UserList has all the features we need right now. It is also cheaper than the alternatives.

Intercom was way too expensive for us. There were also a couple of features that I really missed and UserList does a much better job in what it does. I mostly prefer software that does one thing and does it well over something like Intercom that wants to do everything.

Pros

Userlist is a great tool that allows you to build compelling email sequences to nurture and engage your customers and trial users without getting too bogged down in the nitty gritty of marketing automation. When using competing tools I had a tendency to overthink my behaviour based emails, but Userlist's slick and simple design allows me to focus on what matters - creating emails that really engage users on my site. Yet the apparently simplicity is deceptive - under the hood there's plenty of power and flexibility to get clever with your sequences when you want to, while keeping things simple and intuitive for your everyday campaigns

Cons

I'd like a little more details in the reporting over time

Pros

We've been using Userlist for a while now and compared to alternatives, we had a much easier time implementing it and getting started. Userlist has a great API and very nice user interface. We were quickly able to implement several emails based on specific customer events (or lack of activity) which helped us improve user engagement. Additionally, we use Userlist to announce new features and the emails always look great.

Cons

Nothing that I can think of. Everything from features to pricing is exactly what we were looking for.

We've had a very good experience with Userlist. Because their marketing website did such a good job laying out what was possible with the tool, we've been able to accomplish everything we set out to do. And we're excited to expand our use in the future.

Pros

\- Easy to use - Well-designed interface - Excellent documentation and helpful guides - Personal customer support - All the features you need without the fluff/complexity of most software

Cons

No real cons that I can think of. This category of software always involves a decent amount of work to get things up and running, but they made that process easy for us.

Pros

Userlist was trivially easy to integrate in my Rails app, made setting up all the onboarding emails I knew I should've been doing all along a breeze, and makes it fun to test new ideas without needing to redeploy my entire application. It's amazing!

Cons

I think there's an opportunity for Userlist to be going through their users campaigns and offering consulting to improve results.

If I build another SaaS, Userlist will be one of the few no-brainers that I will use again. I'd also be crazy not to mention the customer service aspect: one of the \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] spent several hours with me (across several weeks!) debugging my own email server's deliverability issues. Outstanding customer service A+++

Pros

The core value proposition is customer messaging via email. In this aspect, Userlist knocks it out of the park. After months of knowing I needed to set up an onboarding email sequence, I finally took the plunge and signed up for Userlist. Within 2 hours I had everything set up technically... \*and\* I had implemented a complete onboarding email sequence according to industry best practices (which they guide you in writing). What had been on my mind for a long time was implemented so quickly, and just as everyone said it would, an onboarding sequence had a tremendous impact on user activation / retention (+20%). Since then, I've implemented several additional email sequences to capture even more value from the tool.

Cons

There is no mobile application - so all interactions are through their desktop web application.
