It brings in the highest quality candidates to your more difficult jobs to fill. People using Glassdoor know that this is a quality job board with quality jobs. Pros You can really focus on showcasing your company culture and attract qualified candidates to your company as opposed to a certain job title. Getting candidates to buy into your company before just the job is imperative to finding a candidate that will stay for the long haul Cons It's a bit hard to navigate at first as it's unlike normal job boards. It's quite dynamic. Once you learn how to navigate all the tools it is worth the initial frustrations. Pros One of the most unique features of JobFind is that employees can leave ratings and reviews on opportunities related to career growth and development. This feature can have helped me to assess potential employers and decide whether a particular job is a right fit for me. Cons I experienced some limitations while using the platform. Glassdoor reviews cannot always be taken as gospel truth. It is open to anyone to post their reviews, so it can be hard to verify if they are credible or unbiased. I reckon a proactive approach to the platform that get the most of out it. More recently, I've watched Guru become a place for underperforming ex-employees to crucify employers. Glassdoor hasn't innovated much in 6+ years of using the platform so hopefully they build additional value and features to identify ex-employees posting multiple reviews. Pros Glassdoor can be fantastically powerful when it comes to features like analytics tracking impressions and page views. This is a really useful tool to measure your employer brand and you can often attribute spikes in volume to PR or other announcements. To increase awareness on employees reviewing, you can generate campaign links in a seamless automated way. It is easy to customise the employer brand within the portal and easy to use. Cons Glassdoor has limited support when it comes to employees abusing a Glassdoor profile. In multiple instances, we've had single employees post numerous fake reviews (which were proven) and it took weeks for Glassdoor to react to this flag and remove these reviews. Whilst I understand they need to ensure employers can't remove bad reviews, it is important to ensure employers are also supported when ex-employees abuse the platform. Review Source Trevor T. Cons I start feeling that a lot of their vacancies are not real. Its impossible to apply for hundreds of jobs that matching 100% my skills and experience without even being called from the employer! If used correctly, it can help forge decisions and help employees understand if they are the right fit. It can also be used to hold employers accountable for maintaining a good working experience. The platform works well and is simple. Cons I think it is often used incorrectly and therefore used to manipulate. Often, employers will prompt for employees to leave a review whilst they are working for them or only a few months into their position which somewhat forces them to leave overly positive reviews through fear of backlash. Especially for smaller companies, it is easy to tell who has left a negative review from the job title they have specified. Employers will often try to hide negative reviews by getting employees to leave multiple positive reviews after a negative. You have to be signed in to do most things and mobile has a lot of popups. You can tell what the work life balance is for that company, and what the culture is in the workplace this is a really good tool to use when you are researching a company before you apply to them. I wish I had listened more to the reviews because they were pretty accurate when I went to work for a previous company that told me one thing but then when I got hired on, it really wasn’t that way. Cons Nothing that I can think of. Like I said, in the above section, I didn’t use many features, except for the features that allowed me to research companies. Glassdoor also has a great way of organizing different employer accounts, making it easy for users to search for companies and then read reviews, salaries, or benefits based on a specific organization. Cons I don't like how Glassdoor requires an account for users to use their service. In order to read specific reviews, users must write a review on a company they worked for previously, which is time-consuming and can be uncomfortable for those who do not want to share their work experience. Pros Becoming an engaged employer on Glassdoor is a key part of employer branding given that the majority of candidates will review your Glassdoor page before deciding whether or not to join your company. You can easily connect with applicants on Glassdoor via your job postings as well as curated content that you can publish directly to your page. Glassdoor has really in depth analytics that allow you to do a deep dive into your reviews. My company has multiple offices in the US and globally and through reviews analytics, we are able to see what offices the most positive/negative feedback is coming from as well as which position titles write the most positive/negative reviews. You can also see what words are most common in positive/negative reviews which helps us to gauge what we are doing well and what we need to improve. Cons There aren't too many cons to think of. It is easy to use on the backside and on the frontside as well. I appreciate having a platform where people can see the pros and cons about each company in their area. Pros The best feature about this software is that current and past employees can use it with the company. This provides a true opinion and reviews about what it truly is like to work at a company. It is also a great way to get feedback on how your employees feel about working at your company. Cons The roles are posted though the roles you post on Indeed, so you have to work with both companies to get things aligned like you would want. It is a hassle at times! The things that we need to know that aren't shown on the job postings of HRs are posted in Glassdoor. So before you apply glassdoor should be a good platform to use. Pros I like that it has a fair feature where you can see the salary of specific jobs from specific companies. It gives you the idea of how much can they offer and if it's worth it to apply on a job. Cons I think they should market the Glassdoor more to reach out for more users so that the resources and information found on the software would grow as well, because it's not complete at all, but I cannot blame them because all the views and opinions stated on Glassdoor are purely from real employers and that's what important for me.
