It also has great salary insights Cons Their UI needs a bit of work but otherwise it is a great software. July 5, 2021 3.0 My experience with Glassdoor started off well several years ago. But I stopped using or recommending it for job searches. Pros The company review section is the most valuable feature! I love that current and former employees can share their experiences so job seekers have a better way of knowing the true culture vs what recruiters and interviewers share, which is usually only the positives or exaggerated benefits. Cons The job search function is easy. However, I NEVER received one call when applying to position on Glassdoor. However, I received calls for the same position when they're listed on LinkedIn or Indeed. As a result, I only use Glassdoor for company reviews. Also, I submitted reviews for former employers. After a few weeks, my posts disappeared. So, I submitted another one. Same thing happened. I reached out to Glassdoor to report my reviews have been removed. They were good enough to be approved and posted. So why did they keep disappearing? My guess - Companies can pay to remove certain reviews. Glassdoor denied they remove reviews. Users can give sensitive information like their salary, company environment, benefits and other job related data anonymously. This really update me about the insights of the other IT companies and I can make decision based on whether I'm inline with the current industry standards. Cons Some data accuracy is debatable and there is a problem on what content to trust. " June 27, 2021 4.0 Glassdoor is a must have for employees. Having the insight knowledge of salary ranges is absolutely huge. Pros I've used Glassdoor multiple times to see details on salary averages. Before going into certain roles and to also see where my current salaries stand compared to averages. It's great insight that has helped me with every role I've had in the last 5 years. Cons Salaries for job roles at specific companies are only based off of employees submitted them. So if it's a smaller company, the chances of no employees reporting their salary for the specific role you're searching for is high. Not necessarily at Glassdoor's fault. Pros Glassdoor is an amazing go to app when it comes to get a review of a particular company along with its salary range and for examining the roles that the company offers. Pros I liked how easy it was to post jobs and manage jobs on Glassdoor. It functions very similarly to Indeed with how the job postings and candidates are managed so it is very easy to use. There is also a lower price point per candidate than what we see on Indeed. Cons Applicants aren't using Glassdoor as much as Indeed, except for people looking for higher positions so we found it challenging to get entry level positions filled on Glassdoor. Cons There are times where not all companies have enough information and the reviews on some are very old and can be misleading. Yes they have reviews too, but somehow in HR it has become a standard to check glassdoor reviews. Pros Again, we need to differ between glassdoor for employers, and for jobseekers. I use glassdoor when searching for a job, and found both the uploading process (cv etc.) and reviews very helpful. I read reviews as a standard procedure even when dealing with clients- I love people, and working with them, so an abundance of bad reviews is a bad sign- and I like to be prepared. Cons When I signed in after a long period of inactivity, I found that my account has been restricted. To restore full functionality, I was instructed to contribute by adding company review or salary. Of course giving back to community benefits everyone, but for me as a solopreneur, I never worked for another company but my own, so submitting such data may not be suitable for everyone, and hence should be optional.
