Pros The EX version is quite full featured with powerful inking tools. Cool features of the inking tools include multiple types of brushes, adjustable stabilization for smoother strokes, and vector inking. Cons The screen layout can get a bit cluttered, but using a large screen tablet with decent resolution can help mitigate such a situation. There were some issues early on with losing custom settings but that seems to be resolved. Review Source SB Shahroz B. It,s overall experience is very good. Pros In this software we can work on both 3D and 2D projects . Its pen pressure is much better than Adobe Photoshop. It's color output is Amazing. It's files are not too much big in storage. It is amazing in animation because its animation panel is very nice. Able to resize linework up and down without losing any quality. Cons Could have better text editing options, sometimes it's difficult to get it just the way you want. It is an okay-ish tool, but since we have licenses for better tools (such as Photoshop), we tend to keep using those. However, I would recommend Clip Studio Paint to someone who wants to do digital painting and not pay too much for software licenses. Pros I bought the Clip Studio Paint license with plans to use it mainly on a tablet, but I ended up using it on desktop too. The software works surprisingly well with Wacom Cintiq Pro and digital painting is faster than in Corel Painter. What I like the most: Price and speed. Cons The brand of this software looks very amateurish, it seems like they are targeting hobby artists. Or maybe that is what their main user group is, and they just end up using the creations of those artists in their marketing. However, it doesn't look very professional. That said, it works fine. What I like the least: Brand and somewhat complex tools. The aspect that you can import Photoshop brushes has really made a difference. The brush engine takes a little time to learn but it is well worth it and I think the UI is easy to adapt and adjust around to fit anyone's needs. Overall I think its an excellent program and I recommend it to anyone who likes to draw and paint! Cons I guess the only suggestion I would have, would be to include different lighting options for the 3D models. Like have a daylight, evening and night time mode for the models. The brushes "feel" natural and drawing is smooth. Changing sizes and shapes are intuitive and line weights react much better from graphic tablets than other software tested. Cons Coming from Photoshop or other variants this takes a bit of getting use to. However the learning curve is pretty short. It will save me nearly $600 a year that I paid for Photoshop and has more tools and features that are actually built for artists, not just photo editing. Pros The vector layers! It makes it so easy to fill and paint later and to create a wide variety of things, from illustrations to product mock ups. Cons The UI initially is a bit confusing but thankfully you are free to move around your workspace to make it exactly the way you want it, and once I personalized it to my taste it was incredibly easy. It also sometimes crashes or takes too long to load because of its need to be connected online. March 25, 2022 5.0 Pros Clip Studio Paint, which started off as a Manga comic creation software, is a Photoshop killer when it comes to Illustration (not photo manipulation). Their one-time purchase model is the best thing ever. Never paying monthly for Photoshop ever again. Cons The Materials store is massive. With a decent search engine, this makes it a lot easier… However, a lot of assets are in Chinese and do not translate for English speakers. It makes it a little difficult, but I’m ok with it since it was their software first. I can patiently wait. Designer Arts and Crafts Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "Experience with Clip Studio Paint" March 6, 2021 4.0 I looked for Clip Studio Paint to make prints for the painting shop where I work, I found it easy to learn how to use the tools and it was easy to work with comparison to other programs, but at the same time that some tools were good and simple, with others I had difficulty not only in using them but also in getting help, but it was nothing that hindered my service too much. In addition, when printing the prints, the quality was not like that of PhotoShop, but it did not leave anything to be desired. It is a good software, simple to use but it has small details that make the difference but that in some cases are compensated by the price of the software in relation to some competitors. Pros It is a software with a lot of resources, the tools are simple to use, are easy to find and have very intuitive icons (which makes it easy to use even for those who know the tool for a short time). The zoom tool is very good and makes it easy to work, giving agility and speed at work (unlike other software). Cons Customer support is not the best and sometimes you have to work hard to discover the functionality of some tools, some are easy and very intuitive but others are not so much. December 10, 2020 5.0 Pros It is a software with a very intuitive layout and easy to learn for beginners. It is great for comics, in fact very useful for comic artists, and animators too, although not my area, proved to be easy to understand and create a simple animation. Cons It seems that the translation was not very good, it is possible to see some words in Japanese and it bothers a little. I found the standard brushes very limited, I've seen programs with a much larger number. Some filter tools that make a difference are missing here, like liquify, and as it is a paid program and not cheap this is a problem for me.
