### "LockDown Browser, an excellent way to increase value in an online or face-to-face evaluation process"

December 24, 2022

5.0

LockDown Browser is easy to set up and manage, so instructors and platform administrators can set up an exam with a few clicks, right from the learning management system, and it only takes a moment for participants to install LockDown Browser, which It starts automatically when the evaluation process starts.

Pros

One of the most significant elements is the ability to manage, through a secure platform, the entire evaluation process, protecting the exam and questions, blocking printing functions, copy and paste, and screen capture programs, increasing confidence and security in online or face-to-face evaluations, in addition to being a very easy-to-use platform that is widely spread worldwide.

Cons

It has a simple and effective environment to use, the download and installation process is really fast, since it can be done by the students themselves, who can, for example, receive an exclusive download URL for that institution and from that link, the participant can confirm system requirements and install the Windows or Mac version, or lean on quick videos that explain how the software works, it can even be used on an iPad from the App Store. On the other hand, in the assessment security, the instructor can configure how the LockDown Browser will work and specify, for example, the startup sequence, the settings to monitor, and much more.

### "LockDown Browser is he best option for Preventing Cheating"

January 15, 2026

5.0

Great software, robust, and great integration with most of the Learning Management Systems I have used.

Pros

It is a robust system, preventing most of the cheating during a test or exam by blocking students from accessing other Apps or websites, or copying and pasting during the exam.

Cons

It is very invasive for learners. I noticed that some students become frustrated and less confident when the LockDown Browser is added to the test.

### "LockDown with Certainty"

November 9, 2021

5.0

LockDown Browser is a somewhat expensive software but it delivers on its promises and is a very efficient LockDown system to prevent any cheating during online tests. As a teacher or anyone relaying on this software to prevent cheating, you can rely on LockDown Browser to impede it within the same device of the test application.

Pros

The software takes into account various scenarios, such as being able to connect a monitor, the software detects the alternate monitor and locks it down as well. During tests you may only remain on the test screen and no alternate browsing can be done. The software promotes lock down, and it certainly delivers.

Cons

Sometimes there is problems with secondary processes from your computer, and may deny accessing the software, but the software ends those secondary tasks for you so it is not a big problem, just and inconvenience.

Students cannot access any website besides their LMS—my school uses Canvas—when completing assessments.

Cons

This is a Canvas issue, not LockDown, but I would like other assignments on LockDown, but just quizzes.

### "This is the best way to have students take online tests if they are not open book"

May 24, 2022

4.0

So far so good. I can't think of any alternative that is better.

Pros

I like that I don't have to worry about students cheating on online tests that are not open-book. I like that it flags a recording in which the student leaves the room. I like that students seem to have very few issues using the browser

Cons

The design looks outdated. Some students say that their face isn't detected.

April 12, 2022

5.0

It was really a good tool to conduct proctoring online and helped save time and resources which would have been spent in another conventional setup.

Pros

The convenient and easy-pop-up options during proctoring of this software were worthwhile.

Cons

There were some occasional issues of flagging, especially when the internet was slow. But overall there's not much to complain about.
