Being able to quickly update FAIR to CP is really nice. Pros I like how I can bubble a print and it creates the bones for my FC, CP and PFMEA. Inspection plans are exported easily and used in our customer shop brewed system, Cons The lag when clicking between balloons. If there is a method to temporarily disable, it'd greatly improve lag. It works wonderfully. Pros I like the ease at which first articles can be performed using the software. Cons At the moment, I cannot think of any cons. The software works as it should. I use this to create balloon drawings and inspection records as well as full FAIRs and PPAPs. Works inline with our AS9100 accreditation requirements. This has saved me hours of work, due to the ease and simplicity when compiling full FAI's. This system is a huge time saver in comparison to carrying a fully manual first article inspection report and I would highly recommend this to anyone who isn't already using it. Pros While compiling first article inspection reports marking up and ballooning engineering drawings is an incredibly simple process. Cons Navigating through the various repositories can sometimes be time consuming. Pros I LIKE THAT I AM ABLE TO MAKE A PDF FILE AND AN EXCEL FILE RIGHT FROM INSPECTION EXPERT.I LIKE THAT THE PROGRAM IS SET UP TO REARRANGE THINGS IN NUMERICAL ORDER EVEN IF YOU GO OUT OF SEQUENCE WITH YOUR PROJECT: YOU CAN ALWAYS ADD AND DELETE DATA AND IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE IN THE PROPER ORDER. My customers always give me positive feedback on how great our certification packages look. Our supervisors want all of our old in-process inspection procedures updated with bubbled drawings and inspection reports generated from InspectionXpert. Pros I like that the software is simple to use and has both metric and standard dimensional outputs available. The software having AS9102 forms and our internal quality forms attached as templates that we can export the bubbled dimensions into is a huge time saver. Cons Would be nice if it was easier for the users to import their own forms. The translation into net-inspect could use a bit of improvement, but what it does do saves us a lot fo time and man-power. Cons The only thing that we wish this program could do is take dimensions off of a cad model and bubbled the dimensions that we would take from the model. Pros The ability to use the soft ware for all of my customers. The software is built to be very user friendly and I have found that to be true. The support staff is able to help with any questions I have and has given additional support on items that were not requested but turned out to be very helpful. Cons The cost of the SMA is a little bit high. No complaints about how it operates. Quality Control Inspector Machinery Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Inspection xpert " October 21, 2020 5.0 The customer service team is amazing they are patient and very good teachers. if something isn't going exactly how it should they really dig into the problem and try to come up with a solution. Pros Once my templets are set up I can make an inspection report quickly. Also when there is a rev change being able to compare the two drawings and it recaptures and rebubbles like features is amazing. If drawings are made in house and you can easily match the fonts it works even better. Cons What I like least is currently a problem on 10-21-2020 but I have been told that it will be added in future updates is if the font on the drawing has hollow periods it picks them up as zeros. Quality Engineer Airlines/Aviation Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Quality Engineer who uses Action Management, Audit, Calibration & Documents modules on a daily basis" May 7, 2024 4.0 Pros The design and subsequent layout is very user friendly, I personally I like that the different modules all have their own search boxes so that your Clipboard and "Mental Clipboard" don't have to keep numbers in them, they can be dumped in each module and referred back to in the future. I also find the search function across all modules to be very helpful considering the amount of records that my company has created. Cons I find the Audit module to be difficult to follow in regards to how the months are displayed visually, only the 12 months of the year are visible when the module opens. It has been my experience across various companies and corresponding industries that annaul Audits for example, are often performed after their scheduled date and would therefore not be visible, as an improvement I would reccomend expanding this to include the 3 months both proceeding & following the scheduled Audit month. I don't believe this would drastically effect the overall layout of the module window as currently there is a "dead space" between the ending of even our longest worded Audit Title until the 12 calendar months are shown. If it would not be too development and/or CPU intensive I would recommend an algorithim be implemented in to the search function of the Calibration module specifically that includes in the search results potential spelling errors within the Number, as again in my experience, many spelling mistakes are made on calibration labels/mis-interpretations of their spelling & numbering. For example the Number 053 may be written on a calibration sticker but be mis-interpreted as 058, 038, 088 etc when inputting on to Q-Pulse meaning it will not show up in the results when someone searches for what they have read on the sticker. Pros Q-Pulse FAIR is our main resource to generate FAI reports. Keeping all necessary documents in a primary location for individual reports is a great advantage. Completing forms, ballooning drawings and gathering documents are all easy processes. Cons The file location system (not Windows Explorer) is in dire need of an update. Navigation of folders is very limited and restricting.There doesn't appear to be a way of feeding back to the developers with any recommendations for improvement (other than surveys like this one). A monitored forum, for all users of Q-Pulse, to be able to offer feedback and improvement suggestions would be an improvement in itself. I believe this software sould be continually updated but i've not seen an update in several months. Reason for choosing Ideagen Quality Control This was already a product owned by my company but wasn't being used for First Articles. It was implemented by me as a FAIR tool, several years ago.
