After taking screenshots, we can do a variety of things such as highlight the required sections, create a box, and mark numbers. I particularly enjoy the history area, which allows me to revisit and reedit all of my captured screenshots and GIFs. Sharing is very simple because you can simply share the URL, eliminating the need to download and share. And, to top it all off, it is an open-source product that is absolutely free. Cons A little laggy at times, and it crashed on me a few times. And the user interface can be improved. Pros I think the most impactful thing about ShareX is the entire toolkit that gives you at your disposal, you can either use capture tools, uploading to popular sharing websites, edits and annotations. Cons I think the hotkey settings could have a tutorial or assistant to help you set up and make it even better. Pros ShareX gives multiple options to take a screen capture like static screen, GIF, scrolling screen, and many more. Also, you can make a screen recording by choosing which screen or window you want to record. As well as it is cheap and very easy to use. Cons I like this software a lot and has many helpful features, but I don't like the user interface, it is bad. As far as I can tell it gives all of the options that more well known screenshot software provides. If you are willing to dig a little bit deeper it also allows some slight automation, such as capturing a specific area that you have defined and which doesn't conform to one of the out-of-the-box suggestions. Cons The UI is very powerful, but could be a little simpler. It could be offputting if you are used to other paid capture software, but once you get used to it there are no issues with defining options or navigation. I use the screenshot features several times a day to mark up issues and highlight certain things when I am supporting my clients. I also often use it when on Teams and Zoom meetings and I want to capture something that I want to come back to later. ShareX has more features than most people will need, but its a must-have application for absolutely anyone.Annotation options include lines, shapes, magic eraser, blur, highlight, pixelation, stickers and emojis and more.ShareX also includes some powerful workflow features which could be immensely useful for people who need more than just the ability to quickly capture their screen and make some quick annotations. Pros ShareX allows me to take various kinds screenshots (region, window, screen, rolling, video, gif and more) and then perform functions on them like annotation, automatic saving or uploads and archiving with workflows. It is a marvel that all these features are available for free. Cons Getting set up took a little bit of effort, but this is often the case with software that has as many features as ShareX has. This tool is nothing like Snipping Tool and therefore requires a little bit of learning to get the best out of it.
