The tools is easy to use to build the annual plan but it’s also easy to enable the leadership team to use the tool to manage their teams’ objectives. Elate has proved to be a reliable, valuable addition to our objective tracking. Pros How lightweight the tool is to establish company goals (themes) and objectives with key results. It’s relatively intuitive and integrates with MS Teams. An important benefit of Elate is the ability to consolidate strategic objective results across all teams into a visual scorecard that is actually useful from a tracking and reporting perspective. Cons Some of the UI is clunky and doesn’t optimize the screen real estate, in addition, some of the search dialogs don’t work as expected. This is easily one of my all-time favorite vendors because each and every member of the team that we have worked with on launching our implementation have been fantastic, extremely helpful, eager to solve our problems and find solutions, and just easy and fun to work with. I believe in the product itself, but the team is so great I would recommend Elate to others for both the product and the partnership! Pros I love how easy it is to bring a strategic plan to life and have the plans, data visualizations, and commentary/notes all in one place. The accessibility and transparency that Elate provides to our organization's leaders will allow us to push the work forward in ways we've not been able to in the past. Cons As a newer tool, there are features that are not yet available, but that are on the product roadmap. Our users often have a lot of desires in terms of ways to view details and data of our strategic and annual plans, and there are limitations to the more complex functionality at this time. However, having been a customer for less than a year, we've seen many new features and updates rolled out, and I'm optimistic that over time the features we would like to see will become available. Alternatives considered [Cascade Strategy](https://www.capterra.com/p/148008/Cascade-Strategy/) Reasons for choosing Elate Cascade seemed to be geared towards large corporate customers and was going to be cost-prohibitive and/or not as democratic as we wanted a tool like this to be for our users. The Cascade team also felt really sales-y and didn't seem to understand the unique needs of a non-profit/K-12 education organization. Integration with our existing tools and reminder settings keep everyone on track. Overall, Elate has improved our team’s alignment and engagement with our company’s goals. Cons We're on a big push for automation and integration, especially around AI. Elate doesn't offer any APIs or webhooks, which would make our lives a lot easier. It's the best tool on the market for strategic planning, has great user experience and many impressive features. Pros Ease of implementation ensured it was relatively quick to embed. User experience is really good which makes adoption a lot easier. Things like ability to update directly into Slack makes a huge difference. Advanced reporting makes it really easy to setup consistent updates. Connection to various other tools (e.g. SF, GDrive, Slack) makes connecting data very easy. Cons There is a lot of functionality and there are parts that we don't use. My experience of systems is less is more. There is a danger Elate will start to try and do too much and lose it's value which I think is around strategic planning and OKR management. Reasons for choosing Elate Multiple reasons, but the overwhelming one would have been user experience and simplicity. It's easy to setup for admins and easy to update for users. It is much easier to use Elate than trying to manage everything through spreadsheets and Powerpoint decks, which is what we did previously. Cons The change management was the most difficult part, which wasn't as much about the Elate product, more about the process transformation. We used a combination of HR tools, project management tools, and Microsoft office solutions to manage pieces of planning/ops/day to day execution. That is the most important thing. I think the idea and the tool is good. Pros I like the hierarchy view idea where we can connect the dots between people, disciplines and departments. I think it is very important to be able to see the connections, dependencies between tasks and that view is very helpful in that sense. In a company the most important thing is to see the common values, goals, etc. With this and Elate there a very good way to show these, even for the smallest tasks in the Company. And yes, if something doesnt have a connection, then why we are doing it as an objective? Cons \- Can not open a link in a new page - Sometimes I can not tag someone - If you are opening something as an objective and you open another one frm that panel, if you close it it will close the parent objective as well.
