I love the online grade book that keeps up with your grades and retakes. I love the course options that are available and that is it sometimes a one stop shop for all of your course needs. Pros Very easy to use for e-text access. Really good supporting materials and guides that help you utilize the software. Cons Sometimes the pricing for different texts are expensive and can vary. When I first started using it, it was overwhelming. The UI isn't very user-friendly. It takes a while to understand how to navigate the program. But once you get used to it, it's a great tool for teachers to use in the classroom. Students enjoy working online and gives them another method of learning the material we cover each day. Pros I have been using this software for the past couple of years for my Senior Transition and Trig class. Students enjoy it when I assign work using Mylab. The one thing I like the most about Mylab is it aligns with the textbook perfectly. It makes my job much easier when I can go in and assign problems from the section we covered that day. Mylab also gives students different problems that focus on what that specific student needs practice on. It's not repetitive and focuses on the individual student instead of a standard set of problems. It tailors the assignment to each student's needs. Cons The one thing I like least about Mylab is the grade book. My school uses a program called Schoology for keeping students' grades. Many other programs we use will submit students' grades automatically. Mylab does not do this. I have to record students' grades manually. It's difficult when you have to check multiple times a day to see if a student submitted an assignment so you can update the grade book. With other software, it will do this on its own. The software is okay for the students and for professors. Cons They could improve their customer service for the students, make the grading sheets more intuitive, or they can decrease the cost of the product for the students. Cons I am an accounting major and for every problem if you are even a decimal off it counts the entire problem wrong. This can be misleading to many people, including me, because it leads me to believe I’m doing something wrong when it is a matter of one number. Also, a lot of technical problems. Never will use it again. I didnt have a choice to switch to another product if I did, I would have. Pros Worst platform I have ever used in all my degrees as a student. Made statistics a living hell. Someone needs to do something about your customer support and general web design as well as function- It is beyond horrible. If I could give this a review I would give it a -1000000. I love how it provides students with the e-text along with videos, helpful tips, and even optional quizzes for them to practice the material. It syncs with Canvas which is a great feature so that all of students' MyLab homework is with all their other work. Cons The thing I like least about MyLab is that setting up and editing assignments from year to year isn't very user-friendly. I also always find students struggle to set up their MyLab account so I wish it had a more user-friendly setup for students.
