Pros Batchgeo has been a great asset to use within my company to assist with route utilization and organization. The ability to utilize with Google earth allows us to get even more details and directions regarding deliveries. Cons Something I have noticed improvements in is the accuracy of locations, but it does happen sporatically. It would also be great to offer trainings periodically to customers or videos shared going over features that we may not use or utilitize yet due to lack of knowledge of its availability. " March 14, 2023 5.0 Pros I think the best part of Batch Geo is the presentation of the maps, they provide clean looking outputs that are more effective in displaying data that is easy to explore. Cons The features I like least are the inflexibility in the naming mechanisms for the pin points and that occasionally something feels off and the pin locations change without changing the inputs. It’s simple to use and has extensive options for customization. Cons I don’t like the price. For my small business, I only map less than 250 sites bi-yearly. When I started using batchgeo 12 years ago the free option was a lot different. I could map under 250 sites with no issues. Now, I map those sites and I can only access the map a certain number of times before I have exceeded the usage. I’m not pay the exorbitant price for the small about I use it. I wish I could edit the map via the app. I had to delete the app because when I click the edit map link in the email, it opened the app but you are not able to edit it there. A delete site option would also be helpful or a way to mark it as complete. I visit each site once a year so I do not need it on the map after I have visited it. It has been one of the most beneficial programs that I've used. Pros I love the ease of use of BatchGeo. It is super easy to me to enter in data and get an impressive map in no time. Pros As a news reporter, I often use BatchGeo to plan the most efficient route to multiple locations on a single story assignment. I also use it to map data points for things like annual homicides, fatal crashes, drug overdoses, etc. I love that each map I create is emailed to me in a link that's easy to use and to share with others. Cons I wish there was an easy way to overlay different maps onto one another (or maybe there is and I just didn't figure it out). For instance, I created annual homicide maps in Milwaukee for several individual years. I would have loved to have been able to overlay the results into a single map with the ability to select multiple years or a single year or to click through each year. Review Source BB Barbara B. I also teach my Web Design students how to do the same thing for their webstites. Pros I like that this mapping program is easy to use. It gives step-by-step instructions. I teach it to my students and most of them are able to pick it up easily and excited to learn this new skill. Cons I think it would be great if it were easier to add images to the location markers. Pros When we started using the software we were able to get the street view by hovering over a data point on the map. This allows the technician to see the property in question to eliminate any confusion with regard to the exact location of our assets Cons I've dealt with mapping products from the DeLorme software of Windows 95 through the most current iterations of ESRI. I've also used NASA Worldwind and Google Earth Desktop. A version of QGIS allows google raster images to be downloaded in tiles that are applicable to the regions we want to examine. Google Maps does seem to be free to a certain extent I was given the explanation that BatchGeo wasn't free to use beyond the first few trials. It would seem that this doesn't quite line up. To my point the software should be able to be purchased in ways other than a monthly subscription as it uses the WWW. Pros BatchGeo is the fastest way to map the properties we are studying. Just copy and paste from excel and it takes less than a minute. Everyone on my team uses it Cons I wish you could toggle or choose the POIs that are shown on the map since they are sometimes distracting or irrelevant but I believe it's a consequence of using Google Maps as the underlying map.
