Student Higher Education ### "Making No-SQL databases difficult - CouchDB" 3.0 Overall Rating 3.0 3.0 Ease of Use 4.0 4.0 Features 4.0 4.0 Customer Service 4.0 4.0 Likelihood to Recommend 7/10 April 7, 2021 We had been using Apache CouchDB in our labs for almost a year until we had to shift to other databases, because many of our researchers found it difficult to access the data. Most of the researchers also found it difficult to interface it with their preference of programming languages. Pros CouchDB is one of the best offline No-SQL databases that I have used (others being Redis and MongoDB). Data replication is the easiest which helps for re-creating or backing up the servers. Maintaining the data is easier than most other databases, making it very favorable. Cons Most config files and the model is stored in JSoN files, making it sort of confusing for intermediate people. Access controls follow the same route. Learning the user interface could be somewhat difficult and time consuming. The controls aren't very complex, but would definitely require some practice.
