August 13, 2025 4.0 Overall, CamScanner is an easy app to use if you have documents you would like to store electronically. They are some features that are premium features that I believe could be offered to basic users, but overall, I would recommend this app to anyone needing to scan documents in. Pros It is easy to scan documents with your phone and send them to yourself via email or storing them in Google Drive. Additionally, CamScanner does a great job detecting what parts on the scan are documents and what is not. Cons Scanning as a pdf with text that is highlightable is part of a premium subscription. September 9, 2022 5.0 As a civil engineer need to handle too many documents , some times need to keep copy of official documents for future use. But in field its very hard get good resolution by images. Camscanner solve this problem in no time, i am able to take scan very easily , in different format also. I can save the document in my devices or send to my superior in a click. No need to get training to operate. Love the app. Pros Best mobile scanner software available now. In a few click i am able to take good quality scan by my device, edit files and send to my team member also very easy. For the last 2 year, i get tons of scan by this software, it never disappointed me. Document management is pretty decent here. Pros It is much easier to use than a physical copier/scanner, especially for oddly sized things like receipts for expense reimbursement, etc. I have never had issues with a document being unreadable or oriented wrong, like I have with traditional copy/scan machines. I also appreciate the options for sharing documents; notably, I can email scanned documents directly to a recipient within the app. Best of all, it is free for basic use (with some paid features). Camscanner does a lot of things which simply makes other resources redundant. Pros I really appreciate its versatility and that it allows you to scan multiple types of documents. This includes pictures, reports and other records. I also like how its scan function analyses and correctly matches with the shape of the thing I'm scanning. Cons Ads sometimes appear on the screen every now and again which can be annoying. I can wait so this is not a glaring issue and I understand that the company needs monetization from somewhere. It makes sharing documents VERY quick and effortless right from my phone. I appreciate being able to save documents as either a pdf or jpg. Me and my friends think it's the best scanner app available and that it saves space by eliminating the need for bulky physical scanners. However, the text recognition feature can be disappointing. Pros I've found CamScanner to be a really useful tool for scanning documents while on the go. It's got some great features that make it really easy to use and the scanned documents come out looking great. One of the best things about it is that it can even convert photos into text. Cons However, there are a few downsides to using CamScanner. For example, there's a watermark on all scans unless you pay for the premium version. And if you use it a lot, you might run into some issues where the app freezes or crashes while scanning documents and you have to restart it. Also it is owned by China which has questionable privacy laws. Pros I love using Camscan as an educator because it allows me to quickly document things and send that documentation on to my email or Google Drive. I began using this application years ago to scan pictures of student work. I could then save those scanned work samples in folders on Google Drive in order to discuss them and pull them up quickly at parent-teacher conferences. I have also used this app for personal matters such as scanning important tax documents or school dimploas and professional certificates. Cons I dislike the fact that you must pay to have the Camscan watermark removed from scans. At times, the watermark covers important parts of the document and can be an inconvenience. It very useful for scanning, aligning, printing and editing documents. The greatest feature of it is that it is free. It is affordable for all regular users and can be easily upgraded with paid features when needed. I find it useful to be able to arrange the photos of documents and of other paper work in folders. I have used it successfully to store and classify my paper notes while studying. Cons In some cases, photos that I'm taking one after another are getting automatically sorted togetger in a separate folder by the app. I would like the app to have a feature for choosing whete to add the new photos to.
