Ellevation Reviews
"Ellevation aids in meeting the needs of ELL students"
Overall: Ellevation has given me instant information about my English language learners in order to meet their educational needs in a timely manner.
Pros: This software allows me to access the accommodations as well as the English proficiencies of my students immediately. I can find out easily what my students need in the classroom as well as when they are taking standardized tests. I no longer have to ask an administrator what my students need. I can access it easily.
Cons: This software does not have a readily available list of functions. In order to utilize all that is offered, one must really explore the website. Ellevation is not an intuitive platform.
"ELLEVATION is Exceptional "
Overall: Ellevation is truly the most streamlined resource our district has ever used. In addition to being our creation portal for placements, IELPs, meetings, and more, there are innumerable PD resources tied to students' proficiency levels. Individualizing instruction has never been easier.
Pros: Ellevation is everything you need to support and grow your district's English learners. From data, demographics, and professional development, the information you need is all located in the Ellevation platform.
Cons: Ellevation has recently made changes in their IELPs that I am still adjusting to. I liked the old IELP format better.
"Great tool for Els"
Overall: We used it primarily for Math and have seen great results. We are currently looking at doing some research on the overall experience.
Pros: The relationship with the vendor, the dashboard features and the connection with our state assessment.
Cons: The cost can be high for small Divisions seeking to support Els.
"A great tool to monitor the progress of our EL Students"
Overall: We LOVE Ellevation and its usefulness. Our school district is over 40% ELL's, and monitoring that many students paired with different levels of contributing users (teachers, ELD Clerks, Admin, SST organizers, etc..) require more organization than you think. Ellevation helps up meet the needs of our students to ensure none of them fall through the cracks and we can support them as they progress.
Pros: I love the nightly sync of data and the ability to have specific programs visible, tailored to how our school functions. We opted to have all students SEI and ELL students imported into Ellevtation, as we can use it as a tool to compare how our SEI and EL students compare as well as our EO Dual Language students compare to our RFEP or EL Dual Language students performing in those language areas. The most useful part is 100% the reports and letters functions, this has saved us days of work. Scores, local tests, notes, accommodations, programs, it is all gathered automatically to provide our parents with as much information as possible.
Cons: I do not care for the extraction of grades to import manually 2-4x a year. It would be useful if they developed the extraction from the Grade History tables of our SIS so we do not have to create templates to share. Importing is extremely fast once turned over, but not having to do that will be useful. I also wish there was a way to map our Language page that holds students' services, this causes dual data entry on our part, which does not save time. As well as mapping our Inverventions page from SIS to the Goals, Monitoring, Meetings and Notes tabs.
"Ellevating our knowledge of our ESL students "
Pros: This allows a one-place stop to give us ideas to engage more with our ESL students.
Cons: Linking with Powerschool in a timely manner.
