Pros

I love the easiness of use of PM. The video library for self-tutorials and then being able to schedule a one-on-one walk-through with a tech. The chat function with either a tech or customer service when there is a question for a kicked-back claim or an issue with the system, is fantastic.

Cons

I really wish that PM would connect with the testing sites so that you could import the online graded tests into the system. Currently you/we can upload the information as a document into the patients' file.

I've been using it for a long while now and I think I just got used to it's weaknesses so I didn't complain.

Pros

It didn't take too long to get started billing insurances. Very user friendly and bec I was able to send out first claims without the training yet.

Cons

It does not keep track of duplication. It would be nice if it recognized that there are duplicates of patients or dates of service entered. Used it for a while and it should have been one of the updates because it is an important one. Correcting claims should be easier than what it is now.

Overall good, but the problem I mentioned above is very frustrating and time consuming. Staff sometimes less helpful than other times.

Pros

Overall it is very easy to use. It makes billing quick and easy. I appreciate the fact that secondary insurances are billed automatically.

Cons

Several times a payment has shown up in my checking account, but the info does not show up on the accounting page, so I can’t identify which patient to credit the payment to.

Began using PM 15 years ago, when our server-based software presented too many risks to stability and backups. Never looked back.

Pros

It is extremely user friendly. No software platform carries more value for the money and scaled efficiencies to make life easy in a complicated industry. It truly removes the mind-reeling complex formats of other platforms.

Cons

I really can't offer any one thing that is outstanding. Not even at its inception did we encounter issues that were insurmountable.

Overall, it is an invaluable product! I would recommend to any small private practice. Honestly, never had a complaint.

Pros

I've used Office Ally's Practice Mate since 2008. While I have always loved it because of its low cost and value for the money, I was recently impressed with the level of security that Office Ally has for its products. I can submit all insurance claims, prepare billing statements; it has been an invaluable product for my private practice management.

Cons

A con for some but not me, is that there might be limited features or functionality but I haven't run into that for my needs.

### "OA PM Keeps your money moving quickly at an affordable price."

I really like OA/PM and have been promoting it to small provider practices for at least the past 20 years. I have always had positive customer support services, and it is one of the easiest systems to train end user to use.

Pros

Customer support, simplicity, no contract, affordability, and fast processing and claim turnaround. When CHC crashed and nearly burned down the healthcare industry, OA/PM was our saving grace because it kept our cash flowing. Would like to assign 4.5 stars, but not an option.

Cons

The way the excel reports download requiring a number of irritating excel functions to allow one to sort and filter reports to pinpoint indices we'd like to look at, and also some of the limited filter options on some of the reports. Reporting (and a few other items: no efax, auto posting a bit cumbersome) is the only reason this is 4 stars and not 5.

Since not tech savvy, getting used to the program initially was a challenge; had great experience with tech support who got me through learning it!

I've been in the business for over twenty years. After using several other platforms, Practice Mate is more streamlined.

Pros

The ease of entering information and generating bills/claims. All in one platform for your medical practice and medical billing needs.

Cons

It could be more UB04-friendly. I must manually enter missing information under Claims/Billing, like the revenue codes that coincide with the CPT code.

Very good it's got great performance and I like the interface. Customer service is really good at least in the past when I've used it.

Pros

Simple and easy to use, inexpensive, and ability to be able to track notes if I wish to do so. I like practicemate.

Cons

I would like to see an easier way to track payments from insurance companies and what is oustanding for payments, and the ability to resubmit a claim. Being able to look up a claim with an insurance would be helpful.

Positive, using for a decade after reviewing other practice management platforms... it's the most robust and accurate!

Pros

Integrated features across EHR, Intake Pro, Reminder Mate, Patient Ally Portal and Practice Mate!!!!

Cons

Inability to see/select partially applied payments in Accounting tab. We like to run the report and have the partially applied or unapplied payments displayed for faster applied payments vs. searching through the whole list of payments.

Very good. The functionality overall has been helpful for our processes to keep data current for over the past 20 years.

Pros

It keeps patient accounts organized. Reports clearly show recorded payment by patients and insurance companies. We can keep patient credit card payments up to date and storing the credit card information for future sessions with reports is valuable.

Cons

When calling for support waiting time is excessive. No condensed report for therapist sessions. It would be very helpful if the patient report per therapist could be downloaded in a more condensed format such as line items showing DOS, Patient name, CPT code, amount charged, amount paid by patient, amount paid by insurance and amount due. Such a report would help generate a paysheet for each therapist in the group.

Fantastic. NO complaints whatsoever! Excellent product, service, value, and customer support. I am so glad I made the change from using an external billing company!

Pros

Once I learned how to utilize the software, it has been super easy and fast for setting up patients and submitting claims, as well as posting payments from patients and insurance companies. Excellent customer support. A great value!

Cons

I set it up in 2017 and recall it taking quite a bit of time to do so. I think this would be the case with any such software.

Pros

I really like the ease and simplicity of filing claims. It is fast and efficient and simple. Customer service has been helpful when needed too.

Cons

It can be slow sometimes, but that could be the connection on my end, not sure. Maintenance times used to be inconvenient, but that has improved.

Our overall experience with Practice Mate has been excellent. The special onboarding assistance was absolutely key. I cannot say enough to let you know how valuable \[sensitive content hidden\] was to our smooth transition. Also, we switched from SPSI to OfficeAlly but that company/product was not listed as a choice in that section of the survey so I responded "I don't know." SPSI decided to close down their business so we had to select a new clearinghouse for claims. We choose OfficeAlly and are VERY happy with our decision.

Pros

Billing ease of use and value for the money. Premier (not sure what the actual name is) Onboarding was extremely helpful Transition was very smooth

Cons

Inability to look up payments by claims (rather than Patient Visits) Number of clicks required to update the number of units billed.

I feel thankful for the support I can get daily over the phone and when they can login to my computer and show me things.

Pros

Customer support is easy to access. Every time I call I usually end up with a solution. There has been one or two times over the years that the solution took a longer time.

Cons

Sometimes it has glitches. In the past it usually is with a particular insurance like Molina, where they either submit the claims twice or not at all.

4.5 stars overall. Most of the features are very user friendly. There are a few things that are not efficient (mostly accounting)

Pros

Easy to use for the most part. Tabs are easy to figure out and learn. No limit on how many patients you can save.

Cons

Accounting tab needs improvement. Hard to find reports/invoices etc. Also doesn't keep more than about 100 claims / patient visits for viewing

Overall my experience with Practice Mate has been good. I would recommend to someone who wants to ease into using EHR software.

Pros

I like that it has a user friendly interface. It also is integrated with Service Mate which I use on a regular basis.

Cons

Practice Mate can only be used while being connected to the internet. There is no offline setting. It can be an issue when the wifi connection goes down.

It is antiquated and needs improvement with billing, especially with reports (claims ready to be filed) and posting payments.

Pros

Ease of filing claims, ease of entering patient and insurance information. Since I only do the billing, I cannot give feedback on the provider side.

Cons

Payment posting is somewhat difficult and making changes after posting payment is very difficult. Too many steps when posting payments. Also, lacks a report that shows claim details before batching and filing claims.

I depend on Practice Mate and talk with new clinicians starting their own private practices about using it. It is easy to use and dependable. I like that I can call or email customer support and they get back to me.

Pros

I've been a user of Practice Mate since 2007 and have never felt a need to explore other services. It gives me just what I need, scheduling, electronic claims submission, and allocating payments from patients and insurance companies so I can keep my finances straight. I have access to all this for no (or occasionally minimal) additional cost.

Cons

After 16 years the interface could use an update. But it still works and at least I haven't had to learn a new interface. I have not appreciated how they partnered with payment systems and then pressured me into buying the then-current system, but this has not been an issue for the last year or so.

Reason for choosing Practice Mate

At the time I started using Practice Mate, it was one of the only solutions available and it was free.

I like it a lot. It's relatively inexpensive. If they increase the price, I may look at other systems. So, for the functionality I need, it's good enough.

Pros

Inexpensive. Can use both for scheduling and billing/claim. Internet base. Easy to use.

Cons

Many small details and features difficult for me to explain. Example: Schedule change does not document who changes it, when, to where/when. Prescription part has a lot of features that seem very poorly designed. Appointment slots are too rigid with either 15 min or 30 min, etc. Not dynamic. Many others.

Reason for choosing Practice Mate

Inexpensive.
