The Answer is No Google Voice is the Best" September 11, 2018 5.0 Pros I have been using Google Voice since they had limited invites and from the beginning until now this is probably one of the best tools created in the last 10 years to be honest. The ability to have a free number that forwards to any number is great you can even use your laptop, tablet, or phone for free as an option as long as you have wifi enabled. My calls have never dropped, sms and mms is efficient and you can literally have as many numbers as you have Google accounts. Cons Major con would be somehow you get random calls from people who may have purchased your number somewhere. As long as your using WiFi/internet all of your incoming calls are free and most of your outgoing calls are free if inside the US & Canada. Texting is free on all incoming and outgoing if inside US and Canada. Some voicemail can be read as transcript. Can be used on your android mobile, computer, iPhone and iPad. Cons It will use your phone's minutes for calls and data for texting if your not on WiFi/internet so if your phone's plan is not a unlimited plan you have to pay for anything that goes over whats allowed on your phone plan. But Limited" May 6, 2022 5.0 Overall Google Voice is a good solution for most people Pros I love the ability to have an additional phone line on my cell phone that allows me to keep business calls separate from my personal number. And that I can still have a local number for my business. Cons Google Voice is only available to the USA it seems, limits the portion of my business operating in Canada. Was forced to move to another service due to these limitations. If you just want a second number that acquaintances or family can contact you on via text, then Google Voice would work. Pros I like that Google has made it simple to cut down on how many spam calls and texts get through. Sometimes it will automatically flag incoming spam. Which is nice. I can also easily block or report spam if it gets through. Cons I used to be able to use Google Voice for both phone calls and texts. That was a few years ago, currently, I only use that number for text messages because the voice call quality is so terrible! I would not be able to run my business or life without it. It makes things much easier. It helps me organize everything. Pros The software amazing and easy to use. I've use it in my android and computer. Your able to keep you records. Change the settings and even use it in multiple devices. I've used it with the business and personally. Cons The only thing would be if you don't use the account for a few weeks, it will give you an alert. If you have it, you need to use it. Pros I use Google phone numbers for my businesses daily and I like that they are free (also can pick a number with the local area code). It is nice that I can call from my laptop or any other computer after I sign to my Google account. Cons Google Voice is not very stable, but it seems to get better with time. Pros I like that you can use a separate Google Voice number in addition to a cell phone number from your service provider. It also allows you to manage notifications for your Google Voice number separately. There's also voicemail-to-text capability. Cons Google Voice calls require internet connections, which could be a downside if you are in an area that doesn't have a strong internet connection. Google Voice calls to international numbers are not free. Even though they do Google Voice offers competitive rates for international calls, other applications now offer free international internet calls. February 18, 2021 5.0 As a teacher I love that I can share this number with students and I don't have to worry about who gets the number. If I have a problem with an incoming number, I can easily block that number. Just adds a level of security to my cell phone number. I use this number for any store or business requests for my number as well. Pros I love that I can give out this phone number and not worry about who it is shared with. Google Voice gives you the ability to block numbers very easily and manage who can get a hold of you. It also gives you the ability to create custom messages for different numbers. You can be up and running in a matter of minutes. Cons There aren't any advanced features, so you can't set business hours or after hours so the system behaves differently under different conditions. Easy to set voicemail, text, respond to calls. Pros Easy to port current phone number for business use. Texting available as well as voice. Easy to set up on any cell with the google voice app. Seamless transition from previous phone service and much cheaper. I like that I can set business hours and it won’t ring outside of that time. Cons Would be nice to be able to set different voicemails for inside and outside of business hours. Also would be great to auto set different voicemails ahead of time, like when planning to be out of office and you don’t want to change it while away. But for the price point, all of the features are great. Pros Google voice is very easy to use, and can be used for business freely. Setting up only takes minutes, voicemails and texts can be relayed to email, and you can distinguish between work and personal calls with ease Cons The biggest drawback is that, on occasion, calls wouldn't answer correctly.
