Super easy to set up, it provides a US phone number that is then linked to each employee's google account and can be used from anywhere in the country or world, from any device. Provides transcripts of voicemails via email, which makes it easy to sort thorough the Monday morning post-weekend rush. Pros Very easy to set up. Gives a personalised US phone number that is then linked to the google account, and can be used from a phone, laptop or device anywhere. Pros Allows you to get calls to your phone by using a different number so clients don't have your personal number. It's easy to set up and easy to use. You can set it up to know who is calling before you even decide to answer the call or not. It also does not let me create contacts within the app; I can only create them through the website on my computer which is not as efficient as I would like. Pros Google Voice provides a transcript of every voicemail I receive, so even though I am in a place where I cannot pick the phone to listen to the voicemail message, I can read the transcript. (many of my colleagues were able to get a free voice line). It is a cheap alternative to adding a phone line to my main cellphone provided because I also get an email and a separate number for my business. Cons I often get spam calls and sometimes my calls will drop which can be challenging when I am dealing with international customers. Pros Google Voice provides the perfect option for having an alternate phone number for separating calls. The voicemail transcription option is wonderful, and I love being able to send text messages from the Google Voice number. Cons There is often a delay in connection when answering from the smartphone app, and I wish you didn't have to have a Google Voice internet tab open on your computer to answer. Please add a Mac app! March 10, 2021 5.0 Pros What I like most about this service is that while it is absolutely free to use, it works just as good as a paid service would work, and I would know well because I used one in the past. I also like the fact that the phone quality is great while you are speaking to someone, and text message conversations can be held without any lag/delay between receiving and sending messages, which is great. Overall, this is a very neat tool to have if and when you need an additional phone number to call and text. Cons If I had to choose one thing I did not like about this software, it is the fact that an internet connection must be used in order for it to function. If you do not have an active internet connection, you would have to wait until you do have one in order to see which calls and texts you missed out on. Cons advanced features of the product are hard to use, and sometimes cause unwanted changes to a documents which also change the contents structure of a document. Users may may frequent internet downtimes and so will not have access to created documents as the product has an internet cloud based system. Knowing only family and friends are calling me after hours and on the weekends is quite nice. Pros When I first began my career I wanted to build clientele but had reservations about strangers getting my personal cell phone number and google voice was the answer! I really like how it transcribes messages so that I am save time when catching up on multiple messages at once. For someone who is worried about privacy reasons, the service is a great tool to utilize. Pros One of the things that I love about using Google Voice is that it allows you to protect yourself. If you don’t like giving your own personal number to strangers, this is the perfect tool since it uses a different phone number rather than your own. Also the service is free, anyone can join right now and get a phone number. Cons One of the things I at least like about Google Voice is the number of phone numbers available. Although Google Voice offers phone numbers to anyone that wishes to utilize Google Voice, there is a limited amount of phone numbers available. Due to there being a limited amount of phone numbers available, you have to constantly use the phone number from Google Voice, or else you risk losing that phone number. Still, it is really handy. It's a great way to have a "second number" for when you don't want to give out your direct cell number. It also has some nice features that my main provider lacks (like call screening). Cons It seems like Google has not prioritized work on this product in a long time. Pros Google Voice works pretty much like your regular phone number. You download the app, get a Google Voice number, and you're ready to start making calls and texts. If you want/need to keep your personal number private, Google Voice is a great option. Cons The one issue I have with Google Voice is that you can't set up a personalized voicemail greeting. Instead, callers hear something like, "You've reached Google Voice" before being prompted to leave a message. For this reason, I don't find Google Voice to be professional enough for business use.
