I'm actually based in West Africa but having a Google voice allows me to connect with focus groups and research studies that I'm a part of that are based in the United States. Also, the built-in Voicemail transcript is really cool if I don't want to read a voicemail record.To a good extent, the Google voice numbers are tagged as valid and able to receive verification codes from sites like Twitter and Imgur Cons I hate it when most incoming calls on my line are tagged as spam even though they're not. And there's a UI glitch on android, when making a call, I'm unable to switch to the loudspeaker without exiting/minimizing the app first. Switched from [Dingtone](https://www.capterra.com/p/245848/Dingtone/) Dingtone numbers all failed to receive a verification code from TwitterI've been b and they were marked as fake numbers on most sites I tried to sign up on. Review Source KD Kara D. n/a Wireless Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Google Voice" August 19, 2022 5.0 i used google voice before it was google voice in 2008/2009 when it was called Grand Station i believe then in May 2009 i think google voice gave me a new members account and for years i used google voice also connected it to my Incredible PBX server till they disconnected access to it Pros its there when you need it most, for selling online, selling local, someone you just meet, needing to call on computer or on phone when the phone its self is not working right or you need Anonymity. Pros I enjoyed having a separate phone number for my business that’s connected to my cell phone. I enjoy how easy it is to use and my clients have been able to contact me without any issues. I appreciate that I can protect my privacy while at the same time giving my students and their families the sense that they can contact me in a more personal way via text (primarily) when it's convenient for them to do so. Pros I love this using this software helps me to stay connected but also protects my privacy. I also like that I can use it across devices. I can use it anywhere that I have access to the Internet. Pros It is easy to use and it is free. You can set up a voicemail and have a regular phone number with no ads. This is the first step in us integrating SMS messaging into our database so for now it works great. Pros I struggle to get ahold of customers on some occasions so we set up a google voice line just for sending SMS. It has worked beautifully! I get more responses and quicker then playing phone tag by leaving voicemails. It also allows me to multi-task. Cons Sometimes when it logs me out and I log back in, I cannot figure out how to get back to sending messages I have to close the browser, re-open it and the log in takes me right where I need to go. I can leave a message, a meeting reminder for parents without giving away my personal numbers. They can communicate with me easily. Pros The fact that it allows me to set up a phone number that is not my own, to receive calls from students and parents during distance learning. I can leave a message for a parent with a phone number to call that is not my cell phone, nor my landline is very useful.
