Overall, my experience with Google Voice has been pretty good. It’s simple to use, reliable for calls and texts, and convenient for keeping everything in one place. There are a few limitations and occasional glitches, but nothing major. Overall, it’s a solid option if you want an easy and affordable way to manage calls and messages.

Pros

What I like most about Google Voice is that it’s simple and easy to use. I can manage calls, texts, and voicemails all in one place without much hassle. The call quality is pretty reliable, and features like voicemail transcription and call forwarding are really handy. Overall, it’s convenient, straightforward, and offers good value for the price.

Cons

The biggest downside is that some features feel a little limited compared with other calling and messaging apps. The occasional bugs or glitches can also be frustrating, and customer support could be more responsive. It would also be nice to have more options for customizing backgrounds and managing meetings.

Switched from

[Hosted VoIP PBX](https://www.capterra.com/p/120469/Hosted-VoIP-PBX/)

I switched to Google Voice because I wanted something simpler and easier to manage than a traditional hosted VoIP PBX. It was more convenient, required less setup and maintenance, and gave me an easy way to handle calls, texts, and voicemail in one place.

I have found Google Voice useful when I want to keep certain calls and messages separate from my primary phone number. Being able to check messages, make calls, and access voicemail from different devices gives it a level of flexibility that I appreciate. It is simple enough that I can use it when needed without spending much time managing it.

Pros

Google Voice gives me a separate phone number that I can use for calls and text messages without needing another phone. I like being able to access it from both my phone and computer, and having calls, messages, and voicemail connected to the same account is convenient.

Cons

The calling and messaging experience is more basic than a regular mobile service, and occasionally notifications or incoming calls do not feel quite as seamless as using the phone’s native number.

My overall experience with Google voice has been stupendous to say the least and i will continue to keep using it for a very long time.

Pros

I am still using google voice to this day. I love it compared to the stock phone app on my android. It allows me to have wifi calling and visual voicemail.

Cons

I honestly cannot think of one thing that i dislike about google voice. Nor can i think of anything I would change

A great experience! it is a very easy to learn app, and it provides many tools for my calls and text. The paid plans are very cheap, and offer great 24/7 customer support just a call away.

Pros

A great option for an alternate phone line, the setup is fast and easy, it even allows you to choose your own number. I love that you can have it in your computer and your phone, and both are sync! Managing my texts and messages is easier from my laptop, so that's a great plus. It is a free service, so is the best bang for your buck, as long as you have internet access, you have service.

Cons

There's some issues in the sync, and sometimes the text I send from my phone, aren't loaded on my laptop, but other than that, I haven't experience any major bugs.

I can't think of much I like about Google Voice. I have been overall dissatisfied with the product since I got it almost four years ago.

Cons

I hardly ever use it, and I always get spam calls. And when I get spam calls and hit "ignore" they just keep on ringing forever and ever until the end of time (or until they hang up). No matter how many times I try to report this or fix it, it hasn't changed. I will likely remove it from my tech stack soon.

Overall, Google Voice is my selection for VoIP. With a great value for money and a small learning curve, you can't go wrong with Google Voice!

Pros

Google Voice is an excellent solution for a business looking for an effective VoIP. It allows for easy access to text messaging as well as meetings. Customer support is there to help with any issues that may come up!

Cons

Google Voice seemed to lack some background options that other similar VoIP services have. There also is occasional bugs and issues with its mobile app that can lead to frustration during crucial communication times.

google voice was easy to use and easy to set up, it wasn't until i cancelled my number and tried to get another one that i had any issues.

Pros

google voice is free to use as long as you have phone service through a service provider prior to signing up for google voice. The app is easy to learn how to use and understand the features, its pretty straight forward. google voice also allows you to get verification texts as well as regular texts and sms messages.

Cons

it would be better if you could get multiple google voice numbers with the same email account and it was pretty frustrating when i couldn't recover my old google voice number or get a new google voice number with the email account that i was previously using.

So frustrated. I have to be really careful when using it. I have to double and triple check all texts and links to google calendar sent.

Pros

The only thing I like about Google Voice is the convenience. I am overall frustrated with Google voice.

Cons

You have to open up contacts to change contact information, you can't just change it in google voice, so if you mistype something, it's stuck like that only if you open contacts. There's not an edit button. I am frustrated that there is a 160 character limit for SMS texts. I didn't know this for months because I never received an error message that texts weren't sent. Also, links sometimes don't get sent. I have to confirm and reconfirm if texts were received, and sometimes none of that gets through. It's profoundly frustrating because it's led to missed appointments. There's not even a character count to make sure. I have to open a separate document to make sure I'm under 160 characters. I know this is dependent on the person's cell phone carrier and service at the time, but I feel like there must be a way to fix this. I had to reach out to the google community to find all this out. I'm the only one in my organization to figure this out.
