Pros Google Voice has been a great tool for our small business it has crystal clear sound and very good tools. It is very user friendly and has a great tracking system with good caller ID and voice mail. It is a great way to add a second number so you don't have to give your real number out to the masses. Pros Google Voice is a great way to add a second telephone line to your cell phone. You even have to option of choosing the sequence of numbers so that you get a number that works for you. Best of all they offer some of the cheapest rates when it comes to making international calls. It also will automatically transcribe all of your voicemails for you. Cons Because this is VoIP you do need to ensure that you have a strong data connection in order for it to work, so it may not be the best solution to use Internationally if you have to pay for data. Sometimes the voice connection is choppy, but my business is local and it keeps my privacy separate. I love it! Pros This was so easy for me to set up. As a senior, ease of use is important for me. I can use this from my smartphone and it is much more affordable than adding a line from my cell phone provider or the other online alternatives. Cons It is free for the USA but not for Canada, it is $10 a month which is not bad, but it doesn't seem fair that this doesn't expand across north America. " September 20, 2022 5.0 Pros I use this in place of the regular phone feature because I do not answer calls from numbers I do not recognize, and I don't have to worry about it because it lets me know if its spam. And I get tons of spam calls daily. Cons It has a visual voicemail feature that I really wanted to utilize for my self, because I hate listening to voicemail calls to clear my mailbox, but it doesn't work with my service for some reason. Although it works fairly well, there is still room for improvement in the app. Pros You can get free assistance with Google Voice for calls within the US Canada and Europe , and enjoy low rates for international calls. You can use it on multiple devices such as your PC, smartphone, and tablet, making it convenient to make and receive calls from anywhere with an internet connection. Also, you can port your current phone number to Google Voice, avoiding the need to give out a new number to your contacts. Another useful feature is the voice message record that can transcribe your messages into text for easy management. Moreover, Google Voice enables call screening, allowing you to decide whether to answer incoming calls based on the caller ID and message record. Cons At times, I've experienced problems with the call quality of Google Voice. The sound can be distorted and hard to comprehend, which can be quite frustrating. It was a completely free resource to communicate with USA numbers. I continued to use it to call phone numbers of my friends and family once I left USA. The voice clarity was also amazing! I know when, where and how to use this product. This is important so my expectations are reasonable. I would not take Google Voice to the middle of the desert without a satellite and expect it to work. Pros I liked the convenience of being able to choose my location and phone number best about Google Voice. Cons The least thing I like about Google Voice is that it does not work offline. If I didn't have unlimited cell phone service for my backbone calling, Voice would not be a viable phone option. Texting works fine under all circumstances. Pros Voice is very easy to use across all devices. It has great functionality: calls, texts, voicemail, contact depository. You can record different outgoing messages for different groups of people. I also like that you can set Voice up to notify you via e-mail when a call, voicemail or text has arrived. Voice has features that I haven't yet explored. Cons I basic function that works only occasionally is making voicecalls using Voice from my computer and tablet. In addition, when I make calls from any device, the person who receives the call often has to contend with that maddening echo. For that, it's great! Very simple, intuitive, etc. Cons Our staff mostly DO NOT interact by phone, so google voice works for us. But if they don't occasionally log in, google takes back the number. That makes sense, just remind the staff: log back in occasionally to keep the account active! Cons When forwarding to your cell phone, I wish there was a way to easily call back using the standard phone system instead of having to go through the app. It's probably unrealistic and involves far more in the telephony world than I understand, but it would be nice. I wish iOS allowed a more seamless integration as you can either have Google Voice forward the number that called as caller ID (meaning you can't tell what's coming through as a google voice number or not) or just use your own google voice number as the caller ID (meaning you can't tell the phone number of the person calling without using the app. Review Source JC Joshua C. Pros We have all been in a position where you have to give someone your phone number for work, but you really don't want them to have your cell phone number for endless texts and phone calls. For those situations, Google Voice is a great way to set up an alternative number that can be forwarded to your phone. You can text, make and receive calls from it. It is very easy to use. Pros The most appealing aspect of Google Voice is the ability to create a different phone number that is linked to your phone number for free! This free service allows the ability to organize contacts, message clients, and manage calls and voicemails individually and as a group. Also, having another phone number linked to your personal number allows a new solely used to business transactions lets say, creating more privacy and customization to messagings and calls. Cons The least appealing aspect of Google Voice is ease of usage. With this, it is easy for people to steal your phone number and use your personal number to further voice plushing and so on. Pros The best feature about Google Voice for me is when it announces every call. In the administrative field this is essential, so to have all my calls announced, I get to choose which one I'll take or send to voicemail. Also, when I prefer or can't take a call, I can hear the caller leaving a voicemail message. The voicemail message is transcribed by Google Voice, and I find that to be a great feature. Cons One day, I was on Google Voice, and it started to record my conversation unaware. To be honest, it startled me and my caller. We were trying to figure out how it happened. It helps me keep all of my calls seperated, and offers a way to connect my business to customers who need to reach me! Cons The only problem I had using this is when I first used google voice, it was connected to my cell phone line, I would have to seperate my calls by telling it if I wanted to use google voice or not, this slowed me down, and there was no distinction in the ringtones so the only way was to answer the call..
