Beside the issues with my internet at times, I love google voice. It has truly saved me lots of money! Pros I like the way I don't have to give out my cell number to my customers, and if I move or visit another state my number will always stay the same or come with me. Pros I love that as a solopreneur, I can use Google Voice for free until my business grows large enough to need a paid option! I also love the feature that screens spam calls- this has been invaluable to me! I love being able to set my business hours, and Google Voice will automatically silence any calls or messages I receive outside of those hours I love being able to access Google Voice from a desktop computer. Pros I started using Google Voice to handle my phone calls and text messages to make my communications more mobile. I sometimes don't have cell service, but I can get access by wifi. Very nice. Cons The bad side is that you are data mined by Google. I opt out of everything that gathers my personally identifiable information possible. Ultimately, we felt we grew out of it and moved to a different VOIP service. Pros \+ No need to piggyback calls on a landline or cellular, but calls could be handled from any device. + Interface within Google products + Overall call quality + Cost ("free") Cons \- As with any Google product, use comes with a trade-off in privacy. Like Apple, they're trading your information for ad revenue as a cost of service. - Less professional interface. The phone app never fails and it keeps my personal number private. Cons I honestly have nothing bad to say about Google Voice! Your phone can only be attached to one Google Voice number at a time but that hasn't been a problem for me at all. It can also be useful for business calls so that you’re not giving out your personal number, because it still rings to your personal phone. Pros This product has come in extremely useful in my freelance writing when I have to interview subjects. It’s free to set up and fairly easy to use. It records phone calls and emails you the audio so you can transcribe it afterward. It also saves the audio within the app. I looked into other paid services but ultimately chose Google Voice and am really happy with my decision. Cons In order to record a call, the person you want to record has to call you; you cannot call them. Sometimes this is a little awkward when asking someone high profile to call you. If you don’t use the software frequently it will delete your number, so that can be a little annoying if you have long periods of time between needing to use it. Review Source SA Samuel A. October 5, 2021 5.0 It's been a very good and happy experience for me since I have started using it in 2012. Pros It's super convenient and very easy to use. It's available on my phone and on my web browser so I am able to look at messages and voicemails through my computer as well as see if someone is calling me if I don't have my phone on my person. Additionally, if I have my headset connected to my computer I am able to accept and place calls through my computer as well. You can treat it as a regular phone numeber or a business phone. You can call, text and set up your voicemail. Pros The easiest thing about this software is that it's free. You get a legit phone number with your area code. It works when you need to text verify it and you dont need any kind of payment up front. You can also link your primary phone to this service and forward your calls back and forth with one click. Cons It is very hard to get a second phone number if you need to change your original number selected at account creation. This makes it so much easier to type with a full scale keyboard than on a tiny handheld device. I also enjoy the Google Voice calling feature. So as long as I have a mic and speaker or a headset connected on my desktop I can use Google Voice to make calls over the internet for free. Pros The feature I like Google Voice the most is that it can be run on any web browser and there's an app to run it on a smart phone. It makes texting and calling over the internet so much easy when you can do this from your desktop and not just on your smart phone. Cons I like least about Google Voice is that the directory relies on the entries created under Google Contacts. Google Voice does not offer its own set of contacts to work from. Really works great if ur first starting up ur own businesses. Pros How it is very easy to use, can link it to ur phone so when someone is calling your cell phone will actually ring link a regular phone call, can also send and receive text messages without any issues. Cons How i had the same google voice numbers for years and now all the sudden its no longer connected to my account and when tryin to get a new number it says none are available for the area i live in. It keeps my cell phone number anonymous and still comes to my phone like a normal text or phone call! Pros I love that I am able to use my personal cell phone to do work-related things. Parents and students don't have my personal cell phone number but are still able to get ahold of me in easy ways. I am able to set times for the alerts to not go off. If I decide at any time that I don't want the number I can delete it and don't have to worry about blocking anyone. I don't have to have a second phone for work either. I hear back from contacts much more quickly with Google Voice than email or phone calls. Pros I am a teacher. Parents, colleagues, and administrators all prefer Google Voice for stress-free communications. Google Voice sends my messages straight to the recipient's phone. They can respond as if a text arrived. Their responses appear not only in my Google Voice account but also in my Gmail. I can even share my number with students without giving them any personal information. Cons It is a bit cumbersome to create a contact within Google Voice, but I'm spoiled, I'm sure.
