I found DipTrace easy to start using and the learning curve was relatively short. I used it multiple times to design PCBs used for our educational and academic projects. This software feels really complete for real laboratory and research PCB projects, as well as for educational use with students. The combination of ease of use, available features and very good customer support makes it a very practical PCB design tool. Pros DipTrace is very clear and easy to learn, especially compared with some other PCB design tools. The interface is intuitive and it provides all the features I need for schematic capture and PCB design without making the workflow unnecessarily complicated. Customer support has also been excellent: very responsive, helpful and supportive of academic use. Cons I have not encountered any significant drawbacks so far. I am still gaining experience with some of the more advanced features, so there may be aspects I have not explored in depth yet. As an independent electronics developer working on low-cost audio products, I value software that is practical, efficient, and not unnecessarily complicated. DipTrace has been easy to learn, comfortable to use, and well-suited to turning my schematic ideas into clean PCB layouts for real products. What I appreciate most is that it helps reduce the friction between design and execution. The workflow feels intuitive, and for small-scale product development, that matters a lot because it saves time and keeps the focus on engineering rather than struggling with the software. Overall, DipTrace has been a very useful tool in my PCB development work, and I look forward to using it more as my projects grow. Pros What I liked most about DipTrace is how approachable and practical it feels for real PCB work. The interface is much easier to understand than many other EDA tools, and the workflow from schematic to PCB layout feels smooth and efficient. For an independent hardware developer working on small production audio electronics, that matters a lot because it reduces design friction and lets me focus more on the circuit itself rather than fighting the software. I also like that DipTrace feels lightweight yet capable enough for serious work. It is fast to learn, comfortable to use, and well-suited for creating clean PCB layouts for analog and mixed-signal projects. Cons One limitation I noticed is that some advanced workflows and library management tasks are not as widely documented online as they are for a few larger EDA platforms, so new users may sometimes need a bit more trial and error when working with custom parts or refining their workflow.
