It does give opportunity to expand your reach and encounter new audiences which is great and needed. Cons Sometimes you can work on a post for a while and it says there is an error and no means to save what you did as a draft which would be nice. The algorithm is off a lot of times and your posts aren't as seen as they should be. I've been having trouble making our nonprofit page a certified badge for whatever complicated reason even though I gave all the necessary information in order to do so. The Bots are out of control in the comment section a lot of times which is very annoying. It's accessible and has many features to keep content interesting. Personal I love it but professionally I wish Instagram had an even playing field for organizations that want to increase engagement and stay relevant. Pros We love instagram! It's an easy way to share mental health resources, important educational content, messages of hope, organization promotion, videos, etc. We love that content can be easily shared between users and through other social platforms. Recently we've been using IG lives and that method has increased our engagement. Cons The algorithm is always changing. Features like likes, shares or saves switch and you never really know which one is most important. It's difficult to have a social media plan to increase engagement when Instagram isn't consistent in what they feature at the top of the page or on the FYP "For your page." The IG Live feature needs some work. I wish there was a feature to set the live to private to settle all the players before setting the video to live. That awkward couple of minutes waiting for people to hop on or invite members is weird. Also, what does it take to get verified. We've tried multiple times and we can't seem t get through. There isn't any support for small non-profits that want to make a difference. Pros I like how it is easy to use Instagram, both for personal and business use ( to promote your brand and products for instance ). By using the Instagram, I am able to maintain a small blog, without need to create a webpage just for this. Also, app is constantly getting new updates and functions, so in general it's usability and quality is also increasing greatly by the time. Cons Because there is a lot of users ( children especially ), it would be good to have +18 and sort of children protection option, so some of users are divided as such ( regarding the feed which they get during the daily use ). This would be good, because there is a lot of Mature content ( even with the restrictions made by Instagram ) which is being viewed and commented daily by underaged users, which can lead to cyber bullying sometimes and this needs to be stopped. It also features an in-app messenger for personal communication. Its in-app messenger enables you to unsend a message with out any time bar unlike whatsapp, without leaving any trace or notification in place. Apart from social connectivity, instagram is extensively used by brands and businesses to increase their reach.
