### "The ultimate postgres database manager"

June 2, 2021

5.0

My experience with PGAdmin was excellent, it is the quintessential product to handle postgress databases, it works very well, the option to highlight databases more than once saved the day. Being able to monitor consumption in free software that works so well is a pleasure. At the usability level, the desktop version seems more comfortable but at the level of analysis the web is better. For this reason I have both software installed working without any problem. If you are looking for software for your database, look no further, this is the best solution, compatible with windows, mac and linux and, if that were not enough, FREE.

Pros

It allows to have multiple databases in one place. The system to be able to highlight them in various colors is very useful to differentiate them, you can see not only the tables, but also the triggers, functions, sequentials and everything related to that database in a visual and very practical way! Version 3 works as installable software but version 4 works as a web server. It has a free and very good database consumption monitoring system. A very important and convenient detail is that in addition to being able to generate SQL queries, it allows you to view the entire table and edit live on the fields

Cons

In its version 3, on Linux computers it happens that when the database is disconnected when it wants to reconnect it is checked and closed or if many cells are selected from the viewer. Otherwise it works perfect

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing pgAdmin

We chose this software over the competition because it was the one that worked the best and the one that was visually clearer.

### "For Postgres sql management"

January 20, 2025

4.0

Pros

When it comes to managing a PostgreSQL database, PgAdmin is my go-to choice. It’s the official tool for Postgres, regularly updated, and equipped with all the necessary features. I find the query history and the ability to save connection credentials particularly useful.

Cons

I find the text autocomplete while typing queries quite annoying, as it triggers with every letter and makes it really hard to understand what you're writing. I disabled it, but I believe with some fine-tuning, it could be an extremely useful feature.

### "pgAdmin - a solid database management system"

September 27, 2023

4.0

My overall experience with pgAdmin has been positive. It has some shortcomings with its UI, but it's very good and offers many advanced features for open-source software. I use it to run queries and access two databases from one place. Overall, it's a good tool for my needs.

Pros

pgAdmin provides a very easy way to access PostgreSQL databases. It's open-source and secure, which is important for my company. It's great to be able to access multiple databases in one place. The authorization process is straightforward and doesn't involve many steps. The way the results of the query are displayed are very clear, and it's also easy to export them. I also like that it saves the history of past queries - I refer to it a lot.

Cons

The UI is not very intuitive - I don't like that every now and then I click on something and it opens in a separate floating window, and then I don't know how to put it back. Also the suggestions for the code errors could be improved - the placement of the error isn't always displayed correctly and it's not always easy to understand what exactly is wrong. It also crushes a lot, but I assume it mostly has to do with my laptop not being optimal for such a heavy program.

### "Pgadmin is still the best in the world for SQL bug tracking system"

December 18, 2022

5.0

It is the most advanced database management system in the open source world and the most secure. And it remains the most advanced system whether it is professional or open source.

Pros

It is very easy to use, very secure in terms of control and authorization to access the user interface, really pgadmin is still the best in the world of a database manager more advanced in computing and tracking bugs SQL query.

Cons

The effect of taking this initiative of taking double passwords without signaling, one should make a mechanism to warn to the user of taking care of two passwords physical server and postgreSQL, frankly when I had been confronted with this situation, I had galleyed more than two hours to be able to discover and me with an intuition of a full Stack Developer born.

Reason for choosing pgAdmin

It's really beautiful, very advanced in the Open Source World, very secure compared to others and its bug tracking system even more advanced.

### "Great tool for visualizing Relational Database"

March 4, 2021

5.0

Pros

It's easy to install on any desktop environment and it's really easy to have a look into the data. It has a nice GUI where even a non-technical user can manipulate the data and also programming freaks like me can write the SQL query directly for data manipulation. It makes the database backup and restore process very easy, which came in really handy when we have to manipulate the production data.

Cons

I only issue I have faced when I was in pgAdmin 3 is the connectivity issue to the server database where I frequently get disconnected, but after upgrading to pgAdmin 4 I am not facing frequent disconnection issue

### "PgAdmin"

July 17, 2021

4.0

Pros

I have been developing and dealing with databases for quite a while and have found pgAdmin for Postgres best for - faster - better for larger file export & import - can run in bg until needed - helps to generate queries - helps with building triggers

Cons

Other than not having a clear error when there's an issue with credentials, I don't see why not use pgadmin

### "All in one"

April 26, 2021

4.0

While developing software, I have to work with many databases at the same time. In this case, I can operate on any database I want through a single interface.

Pros

When you use PGadmin, you can access many relational databases at the same time through a single interface. All you have to do is download the driver for the database you will use. This feature alone is enough to please

Cons

It can cause performance problems from time to time. Queries take a while to run .Other than that, I did not have any problems

### "Best GUI for Postgresql"

March 30, 2022

5.0

my overall experience is quite good coming to Pgadmin, the best tool for postgresql servers. It helped me to learn RDBMS architectures vividly. almost more than 95% of database things can be understood here.

Pros

The interactive multiple window and the hierarchical view of database,Schemas. the tool it self is a very much efficient tool for all day-to-day tasks.

Cons

the user experience could be more smooth like more improved editor and better UI adjustment of all windows. The ER presentation of schema can be added as well.

### "Pgadmin - Big elephant to connect Postgres databases"

November 20, 2021

5.0

Pgadmin-III and Pgadmin-4 - We have used both of this tools and the latest tool is having the web based UI and it is easy for us to navigate through web. For last 5 years I am using this tool for the database administration task and it is very simple and easy in terms of installation, upgradation and database management

Pros

Excellent tool for the management of postgres database. Not only dba tasks but also it will help us to monitor the overall health of the system. Easily we can get the ddl for any objects and this will helps to replicate the database from one server to other server

Cons

It will be great if Pgadmin will come up with the Index tuning Advisor, Performance Improvement metrics capture mechanism. If it is there available then it will help us to fine the database queries

### "Great learning for SQL database."

May 11, 2024

4.0

Great beginner software for use of a first database. Every now and then, it acted up and crashed, especially if you're trying to do too much at once. But this was probably user error. And while it's pretty easy to get the hang of, it might take a little time to figure everything out, especially if you're not used to this kind of software. Plus, it's designed specifically for a certain type of database, so if you're working with different types, you might find it a bit limiting.

Pros

pgAdmin is great because it's easy to use, like navigating around a familiar website. It has lots of handy features for managing databases, so you can do things like asking questions to your database or keeping an eye on its health without needing to be a computer genius.

Cons

Although it is pretty user friendly, it's not super friendly if you don't know how to code SQL. It could be handy if they had some auto fill or block code that allows you to select tables from certain databases for example, without needing to memorize the code.

### "A great approach to boost productivity with database access."

September 8, 2021

4.0

Most especially, I'd suggest that it be adopted by any company or organization running one or more databases in the Command Environment because Pgadmin reduces employees' total amount of time on databases, enabling them to spend more time elsewhere.

Pros

It is possible to create insert/update/update scripts, as well as backup tables, using the PGAdmin application. It is also possible to export query results to a CSV file, which is significantly faster than other methods.

Cons

Even though there is now a way to prevent Query Role privilege users from accessing the data they shouldn't be able to, I'm worried that they'll have access to the structure of the database, the indexes, and the roles that they should not be able to view. That has the capability of being really harmful.

### "pgAdmin review"

July 14, 2021

4.0

Pros

The software is fast and responsive. I can easily navigate in and out of my servers (local/live) and easily navigate between databases. The Query builder is cool which helps me running and testing my advance set of queries

Cons

There are some features that are missing like TablePlus has sorting facility which is very important in some cases. That can be added to the interface. Maybe an auto query can be generated and run on a press of a button.

Reason for choosing pgAdmin

PgAdmin gives me many features that are not present in other products. Plus with time, you get used to its interface.
