Customer support and upgrade channels are fantastic. Being in an Enterprise environment this is crucial.

Pros

The platform is easy to navigate, plus offers the functionality to drill right down to particulars. Update and Customer service facilities are highly responsive.

Cons

I have had an issue recently, where I have tried to update to a later version. Followed the update instructions, but it had failed. Reverted back to previous build and tried again, but same issue. I will wait til next build and try again.

After the initial setup and tuning, it's been chugging along and alerting me to Domain Admin logons, users who delete too many files, and account lockouts. It definitely helps me keep an eye on dark corners of my Active Directory that I would have to be digging through log files otherwise to have visibility.

Pros

I like the a la carte nature of the product. I didn't have to buy a super expensive license that I wouldn't use half of. I sized it right for the amount of DC's and file servers I had. I also really like the support. They respond fast and have been able to help me create nearly all of my custom alert queries.

Cons

I needed to work with support to get it functioning in my custom environment. Simpler AD domains would likely work 100% out of the box.

Pros

The simple setup to what provides a huge insight into the daily changes within any business. Customisation for reports/analytics have been a winner for our environment.

Overall, our experience with ManageEngine ADAudit Plus has been very positive. It has helped us get much better visibility into what is happening in Active Directory and on our file servers. The alerts and reports make it easier to track changes, investigate issues, and know when important events happen. Once it is set up and tuned for your environment, it becomes a very useful tool for AD auditing and security monitoring.

Pros

What I like most about ManageEngine ADAudit Plus is that it gives us visibility into what is happening in Active Directory and on our file servers. It makes it much easier to track user changes, computer changes, permission changes, and GPO changes, and the alerts help us catch important activity quickly instead of having to dig for it after the fact.

Cons

What I like least about ManageEngine ADAudit Plus is that it can take some time to get the reports, alerts, and filters set up exactly how you want them. There is a lot of useful information, but it can feel a little overwhelming until you fine-tune it for your environment.

Overall really like the product. Even with the few limitations, it does what we need and is very helpful.

Pros

We use ManageEngine ADAudit Plus to monitor and alert on all of our Active Directory instance. we have 4 production instances and 4 test/dev instances covered. ADAudit Plus is especially helpful with compliance related tasks as well as monitoring and alerting on sensitive groups, users, and other changes to Active Directory. It's easy to use and a great tool for the price point.

Cons

The canned reports are great, but the custom reporting is somewhat limited. Probably will still need a separate SEIM.

We have had an excellent experience with the software as a core component of our environment management. It consistently delivers on its core monitoring and compliance promises, proving its value to our operations year after year. This reliable performance and the critical visibility it provides are the exact reasons we continue to renew our subscription with confidence.

Pros

The platform provides exceptional visibility into our Active Directory and overall network infrastructure. By delivering detailed, real-time insights and clear audit trails, it allows our team to significantly expedite issue response times and address potential security or configuration anomalies before they escalate.

Cons

While the tool is incredibly powerful, the administrative interface and overall user UI can feel somewhat complex and confusing at times. Navigating through specific deep-dive configurations or locating nested reporting features occasionally requires a steeper learning curve than expected.

ManageEngine ADAudit Plus helps solve the challenge of quickly finding and reviewing Active Directory activity during investigations. It gives us visibility into user activity, logon events, account changes, group membership changes, and other important security-related events that would otherwise require more manual effort to track down. The biggest benefit is that it saves time and makes investigations more efficient. Instead of searching through raw logs manually, we can pull reports, identify what happened, and respond faster. It also helps improve security oversight by giving us better visibility into changes within the environment and supporting audit and compliance needs.

Pros

What I like best about ManageEngine ADAudit Plus is the ability to quickly pull many different types of reports and easily find the information we need when conducting investigations. It makes it much easier to review user activity, track changes, and identify important details without having to spend unnecessary time searching through logs manually.

Cons

One area I would like to see improved in ManageEngine ADAudit Plus is the reporting around Microsoft 365/O365. While the tool is very useful for Active Directory auditing and investigations, the available O365 reports feel more limited compared to what is available for on-premise AD. Having more detailed and flexible Microsoft 365 reporting would make the tool even more valuable, especially as more services continue moving to the cloud.

As with many smaller companies, the IT department is a little understaffed, and everyone wears multiple hats. As such, a product like ADAudit Plus is helpful in that, once it's been set up, can report things to the admin team via scheduled emails, which means that you're reading a set of reports in the morning as you start your day, which takes the look out of manually checking your Active Directory logs. It also can notify you about potential account exploitation, which is nice. When we come in, we already know who tried to log in outside of their normal hours, who was unable to log on (and why), and who changed their password, created AD accounts, etc. It's very useful and presents the data in pleasing reports that have just the right amount of data, and a line count so you can see if the report is empty and not waste time on it. Overall, it's granted us better visibility into our AD environment, and you don't have to spend time logging in, unless you need to drill down deeper. Updating the product is very simple, and there's a clearly defined upgrade path on the website. If you run into trouble, their support teams are very helpful and knowledgeable. We find it an invaluable addition to our security stack.

Pros

There are so many things I like about ManageEngine ADAudit Plus that picking one could be a little difficult. However, the overall ease of use of the product is one of my favorite things about it. Installation wasn't hard. Upgrading isn't hard. The automation basically makes the product hands-off, and lets you focus your time on day-to-day tasks, all while knowing that ADAudit has your back and is keeping an extra set of eyes on your Active Directory environment. It also isn't very resource-heavy, so you can always find a server to install it on and not worry about having to take a performance hit.

Cons

I can't really say I dislike anything about ADAudit Plus. It's lightweight, it does what it needs to do, and does so quite well. If anything, the product can be a little intimidating, due to the amount of things it can keep watch over can be overwhelming for admins that are a little younger in their careers, but if you do your research and know what you'd like it to report on, it becomes less intimidating.
