Once it is set up and tuned for your environment, it becomes a very useful tool for AD auditing and security monitoring. Pros What I like most about ManageEngine ADAudit Plus is that it gives us visibility into what is happening in Active Directory and on our file servers. It makes it much easier to track user changes, computer changes, permission changes, and GPO changes, and the alerts help us catch important activity quickly instead of having to dig for it after the fact. Pros We use ManageEngine ADAudit Plus to monitor and alert on all of our Active Directory instance. we have 4 production instances and 4 test/dev instances covered. ADAudit Plus is especially helpful with compliance related tasks as well as monitoring and alerting on sensitive groups, users, and other changes to Active Directory. It's easy to use and a great tool for the price point. Cons The canned reports are great, but the custom reporting is somewhat limited. Probably will still need a separate SEIM. It gives us visibility into user activity, logon events, account changes, group membership changes, and other important security-related events that would otherwise require more manual effort to track down. The biggest benefit is that it saves time and makes investigations more efficient. Instead of searching through raw logs manually, we can pull reports, identify what happened, and respond faster. It also helps improve security oversight by giving us better visibility into changes within the environment and supporting audit and compliance needs. Pros What I like best about ManageEngine ADAudit Plus is the ability to quickly pull many different types of reports and easily find the information we need when conducting investigations. It makes it much easier to review user activity, track changes, and identify important details without having to spend unnecessary time searching through logs manually. Cons One area I would like to see improved in ManageEngine ADAudit Plus is the reporting around Microsoft 365/O365. While the tool is very useful for Active Directory auditing and investigations, the available O365 reports feel more limited compared to what is available for on-premise AD. Having more detailed and flexible Microsoft 365 reporting would make the tool even more valuable, especially as more services continue moving to the cloud. Very easy to use and setup. Gives me the reports that i need and allows me to monitor AD in a way that is what i need. Pros The ease of initial setup and the reports that can be generated from it are what drove me to want to use it initially. It has so many features that can be used and the setup can be very complex if you really want to dive in, but the nice thing is that it can be done over time. The initial setup to get it reporting and allowing you to make changes from it are very easy and quick. I have had very few issues with it and when I did have to reach out to support, they were very helpful. Quick to respond and answered all my questions. One of the best features of this product is the cost. Cons I would say the only issue I have with any of the products is the amount of RAM that it takes to run the applications, but at least before, that was cheap. Pros We have more than 5000 users and more than 5000 computers in AD. ManageEngine ADAudit Plus dashboard provides centralized visibility into key Active Directory metrics and user activities, including the total number of enabled and disabled user accounts, computer accounts joined to the domain, service accounts, privileged accounts, and group memberships. It offers trend analysis and detailed reporting on user logon activities, account creations, modifications, deletions, password changes, account lockouts, and inactive accounts. The dashboard also helps monitor domain growth, identify orphaned or stale accounts, track administrative changes, and provide management with actionable insights into the overall health, security, and compliance status of the Active Directory environment. It takes all the messy Active Directory logs and makes them way easier to deal with. Instead of digging through endless events, I can quickly spot who locked out an account or changed a GPO. The alerts are super handy too—they catch suspicious stuff like bulk changes right away, but they don’t blow up my inbox with unnecessary noise. On the flip side, the interface feels a bit old‑school and takes some getting used to. Setting up detailed reports can be a little clunky at first, but once you figure it out, the tool does its job really well. Overall, it saves me time, keeps things organized, and gives me peace of mind when it comes to monitoring AD activity. Pros What I really like about ADAudit Plus is how it takes the chaos of Active Directory logs and makes them super easy to work with. Normally, AD throws out a ridiculous amount of event logs that are basically impossible to dig through. With this tool, if someone gets locked out or a GPO changes, I can instantly see who did it and where. The real-time alerts for sketchy stuff—like bulk changes - keep us in the loop without bombarding us with pointless notifications. Cons The thing I liked least about ManageEngine ADAudit Plus is that the interface feels kind of old‑school and not super smooth to use. Some of the menus take a bit of clicking around to figure out, and setting up detailed reports can be more of a hassle than I’d like. There’s also a bit of a learning curve when you’re just getting started, so it’s not the most beginner‑friendly. And while the alerts are helpful, a few of them come off a little too broad, so you end up spending extra time tweaking them to cut down on the noise.
