It has helped us get much better visibility into what is happening in Active Directory and on our file servers. The alerts and reports make it easier to track changes, investigate issues, and know when important events happen. Once it is set up and tuned for your environment, it becomes a very useful tool for AD auditing and security monitoring. Pros What I like most about is that it gives us visibility into what is happening in Active Directory and on our file servers. It makes it much easier to track user changes, computer changes, permission changes, and GPO changes, and the alerts help us catch important activity quickly instead of having to dig for it after the fact. Cons What I like least about is that it can take some time to get the reports, alerts, and filters set up exactly how you want them. There is a lot of useful information, but it can feel a little overwhelming until you fine-tune it for your environment. June 26, 2026 5.0 After the initial setup and tuning, it's been chugging along and alerting me to Domain Admin logons, users who delete too many files, and account lockouts. It definitely helps me keep an eye on dark corners of my Active Directory that I would have to be digging through log files otherwise to have visibility. Pros I like the a la carte nature of the product. I didn't have to buy a super expensive license that I wouldn't use half of. I sized it right for the amount of DC's and file servers I had. I also really like the support. They respond fast and have been able to help me create nearly all of my custom alert queries. Pros We have more than 5000 users and more than 5000 computers in AD. dashboard provides centralized visibility into key Active Directory metrics and user activities, including the total number of enabled and disabled user accounts, computer accounts joined to the domain, service accounts, privileged accounts, and group memberships. It offers trend analysis and detailed reporting on user logon activities, account creations, modifications, deletions, password changes, account lockouts, and inactive accounts. The dashboard also helps monitor domain growth, identify orphaned or stale accounts, track administrative changes, and provide management with actionable insights into the overall health, security, and compliance status of the Active Directory environment. Cons I would not say that we dislike the solution. I have not yet explored the possibility of integrating it via APIs with the IT Infrastructure Control Tower. My preference is to avoid identity management operating in a silo and instead ensure it is integrated with the enterprise SSO and application identity ecosystem, providing centralized visibility, governance, and control. The ability to send alerts on major issues such as account lockout, privileged account usage, elevation of privileges and group membership changes. The tool not only allowed me to have much clearer visibility of changes in our Active Directory environment but was also instrumental in securing our security posture. When I first started using it, I used up quite a considerable amount of time with the learning curve, but after that, I was able to use it daily feeling it was very dependable, it had great precision, and working with it was also easy. The integration of real-time alerts, in-depth reports, and a user-friendly interface made it an excellent tool for both overseeing and meeting regulation requirements. Pros The aspect of that I enjoyed the most is that it is simple to use and at the same time delivers thorough insights. The interface is very intuitive that I can tackle even very complicated audit requests without much effort. I particularly liked the variety of predefined reports; having those available saved me time and gave me a quick snapshot of user actions and changes to Active Directory. The alerts in real-time were also a big benefit, as they enabled me to detect and respond to situations before they became bigger issues. Cons One thing I liked least about is that some advanced configuration options give you a feeling of being overwhelmed when you first try them. Getting acquainted with all the features and customizing the reports to your liking indeed takes a small amount of time. Additionally, the system can be somewhat sluggish at the start if the environment is large. Searching for a file or a folder that was moved on the network is extremelly time consuming. AdAudit Plus do this in seconds. Pros Very efficient and quick to find out who deleted or moved files or folders on the network. For us it provides the info that we need in a timely fashion. From a user perspective I am very happy and believe I will be able to make lots of improvements based on audit results, and the HR team are happy that they can audit what they need to see too. Pros As a Head of Department I wasn't involved in the setting up of the software, so the first I saw it in anger was when I first logged on. It is really intuitive and there are tons of reports already set up - this meant that I found a potential error in our network permissions setup within minutes of logging on, which once resolved I think will improve performance enough for our users that the time saved will pay for ADAudit Plus within weeks. Amazed! Cons Nothing so far, although the breadth and depth of reports available is pretty daunting at first.
