The Knowledge base articles are helpful in that case and support is pretty fast to respond unless it is a compilated issue. In that case it might take a time resolve it if developers involved. Overall great product. Pros The printers in Vasion print are easy to deploy and monitor. The option for off network printing is useful too. It also supports other systems for authentication like Entra ID. Cons The Vasion print has ton of features and it might be confusing the best way to configure a specific feature like off network printing. Review Source BC Bruce C. Senior Systems Engineer Higher Education Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Very useful product for centralizing and coordinating printer drivers" November 27, 2024 4.0 PrinterLogic/Vasion Print takes a lot of end user consulting time out of the picture by automating the printer setup process. This frees up departmental as well as core consultants and engineers for more technical or enterprise oriented project work. This is a very positive benefit to our technical teams and management. Pros This is a very easy product to use and was quite straightforward to install and configure. We currently use the printer driver repository function the most heavily as end users in our academic departments access it pretty much every day. It was very easy to load on our endpoints and simplifies the process of getting the proper enterprise printers set up on departmental computers. Their customer support has been very helpful on the few occasions that we have needed to contact them. We currently are in conversation with Vasion about expanding the use of PrinterLogic/Vasion Print and have discussed various ways that it could be integrated with other printing support functions. They have been very interested in our use cases and ideas for building out the features in the product. We are very happy with the product and with the Vasion support and sales teams. Cons The only thing I dislike about PrinterLogic/Vasion Print is something that we brought upon ourselves. We gave too many people access to edit the collection of drivers, and thus ended up with a bunch of duplicates and old drivers that never get updated because the person who created them is no longer in the support position that they were in when they created it. We are in the process of cleaning this up and optimizing the collection in general for better centralized support. We have a fleet of printers through Canon, so there are not that many different models that we have to deal with, just a lot of printers in a lot of locations. Configuration and setup were straight forward and any problems we ran into were resolved through Vasion's support team who are spot on and always easy to connect with. Pros PrinterLogic has been an absolute game-changer for our organization. Before implementing their SaaS solution, we were constantly battling printer issues, spending countless hours on support and maintenance. Visibility into our printer fleet was practically nonexistent. Since adopting PrinterLogic, our printing woes have vanished. The platform is incredibly user-friendly and requires minimal intervention. Support calls have become a thing of the past. We can't thank Vasion enough for developing such an amazing product!" November 20, 2024 5.0 Fantastic, There support people are very responsive and have been there everytime we need them Pros The ability to manage all your printers on a network from one central admin console is amazing. You can create configure set default setting and even auto deploy on chosen subnets. We have multiple sites across our state, and it saves hours every day with not having to remote in and install drivers. Cons I know Vasion is still developing the scanning piece. The scanning piece needs to be improved from the standpoint of having it automatically create OneDrive folders once they have authenticated with it. We've used several products and Vasion Print is the best we've had. Pros It’s an easy to use interface on both the back and front ends. Very graphical and click to install. Cons Secure printing should be included in the package price, not as an add on. Pros It was an easy implementation and allowed us to remove 4 of our print servers across our divisions to help with our alignment to move to cloud based infrastructure. Cons If I had to pick something, I would say the drivers. If the drivers would pre-populate based on selecting the model of a printer, that would be better instead of having to find them ourselves. We love printer logic, and all the techs that leverage it would be extremely disappointed if we changed. Pros What my organization and I love the most about Vasion PrinterLogic is that we have a single interface that everyone can access and manage printers. Printer Logic has empowered our HelpDesk with the tools to clean up stuck print jobs. We have over 7500 physical printers spread across multiple states. Having remote people able to manage print queues has saved us countless dollars. Cons what I like least about Printer logic is the slow and complexity of SNMP device discovery. Pros The non-server printed management capability is significantly better than the standard Microsoft Print Server. We were frequently fighting with our print server, but now we don't ever have to think about it. It just works! Cons The initial setup took a little bit of work, but once done, it's a "set it and forget it" kind of situation. Still the initial setup wasn't as bad as setting up a Microsoft Print Server. Pros The transition from our previous Printer Software was seamless and very smooth. We rolled out 19 new Printers with the PrinterLogic Software deployed across the country and I could not have had a more pleasant and smooth operation from any point of view. Cons I personally did not endure any troublesome glitches or serious problems through out the deployment. Client end hardware was the only issue we had to deal with. Cons Sometimes uploading the specific drivers can be a pain, as it requires very specific driver types.
