I’ve had a very positive experience with Trello overall. It’s a simple and effective project management tool that makes it easy to organize tasks, content, and workflows visually. I especially like the drag-and-drop board system because it helps keep projects clear and easy to manage without feeling overwhelming. It works well for both personal organization and team collaboration.

Pros

Pros: Very easy to learn and use, even for beginners Clean visual layout with boards, lists, and cards Great for task management, content planning, and team collaboration Helpful integrations and automation features through Power-Ups Flexible enough for both simple projects and more detailed workflows

Cons

Cons: Can feel limited for larger or more complex project management needs Some useful features are locked behind paid plans Managing many boards at once can become cluttered Reporting and analytics tools are more basic than some competitors

Incentivized review: software users are invited to submit an honest review and offered a nominal incentive for their time and effort. All incentivized reviews are subject to our verification process prior to publication.

I have used Trello on several projects and it is my default option when I need to set something up quickly.

Pros

I love the simplicity of Trello. It still allows me to get very organized, while making everything feel easy.

Cons

That it is not as widely used as some of the alternative products that do similar things. This can lead to limitations when collaborating externally.

Easy to use and makes total sense with the structure. It is a nice, visual tool for me. Liked the simplicity.

Pros

There is a free version, but when using it for projects, it can be somewhat limiting. I started with Trello and love the design of the cards and found it very simple to use

Cons

Probably felt more old-fashioned than other project management tools, but it did what I needed to track projects.

Cuts easily through task clutter. Simple to learn and use. I love the visual approach of the boards and the ability to organize with a drag or touch - its rare to find an app UI quite so well-designed.

Pros

Trello is simple and straightforward, the boards are great. I work several jobs and this helps tremendously to compartmentalize, prioritize and keep track of what's going on in each area - a real boost to productivity when I need to switch "hats" on the fly.

Cons

If you have complex requirements or dependencies, I don't feel this is the tool for you. To be fair, that's not what its designed for. The sideways scrolling seemed more built for tablet than phone.

Pros

If you haven't used any task or project management tool before and never tried one, Trello can be quite the find.

Cons

Trello's limits were already showing by the time we moved on. Now we run everything through Notion and it's just more practical.

Great - genuinely useful for organising projects, teams ad workloads. Only minor gripes with its ease of integration with our workflow.

Pros

Project management/team colloboration As a remote team, being able to organise tasks into their actual state remotely is a lifesaver- approvals; easy. In progress; visible at a glance. Responsible person; visible immediately.

Cons

Automated reminders and timers were not easy to set up. How we used it relied on users logging into trello to keep an eye on their tasks - when using multiple other tools this was a little cumbersome.

Trello is the go-to tool when you need a visual, low-friction way to organize work. It's fast to set up, easy to share with clients or teammates, and flexible enough for both personal and professional use. Whether you're managing a content calendar, a development sprint, or a client project, Trello delivers a clean and enjoyable experience from day one.

Pros

Trello's Kanban-based approach makes task management immediately intuitive — no training needed. Cards, lists, and boards map perfectly to how teams naturally think about their work. The ability to add checklists, attachments, due dates, labels, and comments to each card keeps everything organized in one place. Power-Ups like Calendar, Automation, and third-party integrations extend its functionality significantly without adding unnecessary complexity.

Cons

Trello starts to feel limited as projects scale up. There's no native Gantt chart or timeline view on the free plan, and tracking dependencies between tasks across multiple boards can get messy. For large teams managing complex workflows, the lack of built-in reporting and advanced project tracking means you'll need additional tools to fill the gaps.

Trello serves the purpose as an administrative tool for a mid-sized technology company, but just about. While it is good enough for basic activities, it simply cannot handle our projects' interdependency and their board documents' versioning process.

Pros

The card system works fine in terms of monitoring the actions that the board takes along with any governance. I can assign different cards to individual managers within various departments and get an overview of pending activities. Activity streams help me monitor all the activity carried out by individual employees in case of audits. Butler automation assists in saving time in terms of repeated governance actions.

Cons

There are no Gantt charts, making it impossible to monitor our reporting deadlines on a quarterly basis. The free plan allows for 10 boards at most, making it inadequate since we need to manage multiple board committees. The integration process with the document repository in SharePoint poses an issue.

Overall, my experience with Trello has been very positive. It’s a reliable and flexible platform that helps keep projects, deadlines, and daily tasks organized without requiring a lot of technical knowledge. The interface is clean, easy to navigate, and simple to learn, which makes onboarding new users quick and stress-free. Trello has been especially helpful for improving organization, collaboration, and workflow management while keeping everything visually accessible.

Pros

Trello is extremely user-friendly and makes organizing tasks, projects, and workflows simple without feeling overwhelming. I really like the drag-and-drop kanban style boards because they make it easy to visually track progress and keep everything organized in one place. The ability to add checklists, due dates, comments, attachments, and team collaboration tools helps keep communication clear and projects moving smoothly. It’s also great for both personal organization and team management.

Cons

Some of the more advanced features and automations are limited unless you upgrade to a paid plan. While Trello works great for basic and moderate project management, larger or more complex projects can sometimes feel too simplified compared to other platforms with more advanced reporting and tracking options.
