### "Simplicidade e agilidade, no melhor software de modelagem 3D"

April 11, 2023

5.0

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing SketchUp

### "The Usefulness and Effectiveness of SketchUp"

April 1, 2023

4.0

My overall experience with SketchUp is great. It helps me improve my skills and knowledge about construction and designing field. I am able to design houses, booth, furniture and etc. From beginner up to now that I am fluent in using this software app, Sketchup is the best app for me and I recommend it to all users who are in construction and architectural field. What is best with sketchup is you can you use it as your hobby too if you're interested in designing houses or other this app is for you. 100% effective and useful.

Pros

The most impactful to me is the User Interface (UI) it is very user friendly and easy to use. From beginner up to expert can use this product. The features are very helpful like the drafting I can pause and continue my work whenever I want while securing the designs I made. All tools are present , the perspective views and designing tools. The subscription plans are affordable.

Cons

For me, the cons are the third party sometimes it bring hassle for users as it is not the applicable third party app for us. Third party apps are not recommended sometimes and it needs improvement.

### "SketchUp - Unveil your imagination easily"

September 25, 2020

4.0

Overall : ========== If you are using SketchUp for 3d models and building plan it’s a great software, and i find this too much user friendly and as easy as MS paint. But if u want to use this software for drawing sectional details and working drawings, u need to be an expert in getting output.

Pros

1) The biggest pro i like is less hardware demand i.e. You don’t need a heavy machine to use this software, a general configuration laptop does the work quite effectively unlike other softwares. You can import the finalized design in lumion and get a realistic render in no time and. 2) One good advantage of using SketchUp is the u can easily pull push the walls and apply the desired changes instantly and things gets finalized very fast. Whatever you want to imagine, you can apply instantly from painting to cladding to railing designs and wallpapers. 3) Being a designer, the biggest hurdle is the changes client wants, but in SketchUp the visualization and applying changes is super easy, you can sort it out in a meeting or two. It made around 30-40 percent increase in client understanding and project approval. 4) Another plus point i realized is the real time working screen is no less than a simple render other softwares have. And if you have time and know how to use SketchUp, you don’t need an interior designer for some scale projects as the library itself suggest you some great ideas.

Cons

1) The rendering part and you need to install different plugins for different works. 2) The library is great but limited, if u want to attach a luxury couch in the drawing room you will not have many great options. 3) Attaching a component to a certain place is bit time consuming as it takes at least 2 angles to see whether the component is fixed accurately or still have some space left here or there.

[AutoCAD Architecture](https://www.capterra.com/p/172801/AutoCAD-Architecture/)

Why I switched from AutoCAD to SketchUp: ====================================== Coming from a small as a small business owner in construction of residential and commercial buildings, SketchUp helped a lot in turning my clients in my favor. I was using AutoCAD before but since 2017 i have switched to SketchUp, practically no one is interested in learning about the section or plan view, if u can give then a 3d bird eye view from a 360-degree angle controlled by your mouse. You can give a feel your clients to enter their house, walk in their house and suggest and apply changes quickly. The real time screen does great job and avoids costing loss if those changes worked out during construction it will cost manpower and material loss.

### "Review about Sketchup "

March 6, 2023

5.0

I have been using Sketchup since design school. Therefore, I have excellent general expertise in it. If you have a high-speed laptop or desktop that is compatible with the program, it is simple, quick, and reliable. Animation is my favorite option in this software, which lets users see how their room will look in real. However, if you wanted your model to appear photoreal, you could upgrade by purchasing a rendering tool that is easy to link with SketchUp. This software also offers free rendering. This application can be used by students who need to create a 3D modeling design for academic purposes.

Pros

I design amazing spaces for my clients using the Sketchup free version. I have been using Sketchup every day to help my clients picture their perfect space. I, therefore, like the push-pull tool, the measure tool that assists in determining the correct ceiling height needed, and the measurement tool that establishes the specific location of the door and window openings. You can utilize Vray, Lumion, and Enscape and plug into them to create beautiful representations.

Cons

It fails to drop the objects when attempting to import them from a 3-D warehouse. The number of items in the library is minimal. As a result, the library has a limited selection of textures and materials. If you're using a laptop, you must use the mouse to navigate the software.

### "SketchUp - best concept design tool"

May 12, 2022

4.0

I make everything in SketchUp, even before showing the ideas to my team.

Pros

It's the most intuitive software in the market, even used with children, to introduce them with the 3D modeling and way of thinking. I've been using it for the last 10 years, which makes it essential in my processes.

Cons

It could have more complete BIM tool, if it wants to really dominate the market. Building information is essential today, and we shouldn't need to remake those in other tools.

Reason for choosing SketchUp

It was introduced to it in college, and really liked it, so I kept using it.

### "Powerful 3D Modeling and CAD Options at a Variety of Price Points"

November 1, 2022

4.0

My overall experience with SketchUp has been a positive one. I've used it to translate my basic woodworking and house design concepts into quick mockups. Very useful for me for those purposes. What's more I can see the power and utility of the software (particularly the paid tiers) for those involved in even more complex and extensive modeling projects.

Pros

For me, the thing I like most about SketchUp is the ease of use and accessibility of the software (especially the free version) for people of all skill levels. I myself have had training in various pieces of CAD and 3D modeling software; however, most of these have such a high barrier to entry. Even with my knowledge and comfort in those systems, when I need to sketch something up quickly for a woodworking project or get a basic idea down on the page, SketchUp is often the quickest way to do it. It allows me to get an idea from my brain to the screen extremely rapidly so that I can test proof of concept and quickly work out any kinks in my initial conception. SketchUp Free has a great standard feature set (model library, shapes, fills, extrusions, etc.) that one would expect from any 3D modeling software. The paid tiers go even further by integrating powerful collaboration tools and cool features like weather/temperature modeling, etc. What's more, being able to export several different file types is useful if I want to take my ideas into another piece of software. All in all, SketchUp provides a powerful (and affordable) suite of options for all user types.

Cons

With all of SketchUp's benefits in mind, sometimes its streamlined nature can be a bit of an impediment to translating ideas to "paper." Some my difficulty in this regard is owing to my primary experience in AutoCAD--the interface is just different enough that some basics are counterintuitive (to me). That said, with time and experience in the software, I was able to overcome my initial stumbles. One other potential issue to keep in mind is the fact that SketchUp Free is limited in the types of export formats it provides. To gain access to some of the more universal or software-specific file types, it is necessary to upgrade to a paid tier.

Reason for choosing SketchUp

I chose SketchUp because of its ease of use and low price (at the free tier).

I really like how quickly models can be built and how easy it is to communicate initial concepts to be able to communicate ideas to third parties

Pros

I like how easy it is to implement and how quickly models with a lot of information can be built

Cons

### "It make 3D Arts simple and easy"

November 24, 2021

5.0

As of now SketchUp is the best programming for 3D displaying which is furnished with heaps of highlights which are inaccessible in elective programming. Also, requiring low execution while working extremely smooth is extraordinary. A few entanglements will happen assuming you do complex plans yet for general purposes this is awesome. Can be utilized even by a novice without confronting issues.

Pros

I expected to plan a few structures and utilized SketchUp to make a 3D model. Before I utilized SketchUp I thought 3D demonstrating was hard however with SketchUp, model was done effectively and had the option to encounter how it would take care of development. What's more, with 3D stockroom include I had the option to make exceptionally sensible reproduction making the plan interaction very more straightforward. Indeed, even as a novice SketchUp was straightforward and powerful instrument. Got many devices to help clients in demonstrating. Best component is in SketchUp is stroll around choice which will give genuine reproduction how the last plan will be. Additionally SketchUp got extraordinary modules which will set aside both time and cash of an originator. With 3D stockroom and expansion distribution center a client can assemble any plan utilizing next to no work. What makes SketchUp the best 3D plan programming is not normal for any option is capacity to run as expected in any PC. Most CAD programming require a top of the line PCs with superior execution framework yet SketchUp turns out great in any average PC.

Cons

Utilizing SketchUp through program was slacking and extremely more slow contrasted and introduced rendition. Furthermore, I confronted issues with holes in dividers and floors in the event that you interfere with it multiple times. Likewise SketchUp need to move up to make complex plans on the grounds that as of now it's difficult to do as such.

### "Great Design, Sell and Build Tool!"

May 5, 2022

5.0

My SketchUp has been great. The software is continually upgraded and getting better at handling larger models than it used to. We could not be without it in our business.

Pros

SketchUp plays an important role in the design, sales and construction of most of our high end residential landscape projects. The integration of SketchUp with DynaScape and Lumion make for an excellent lineup of tools that are crucial to our business. SketchUp's ease of use makes 3D modelling quick and as accurate as you like. 3D modelling makes selling projects much easier than 2D designs. The ability to then push the model into Layout makes creating construction details a breeze.

Cons

SketchUp's subscription method is not the easiest to use and can be a bit frustrating. It will log you out every once in a while and make you sign in. It used to not let you open newer version models but now it just warns you.

Reason for choosing SketchUp

SketchUp was the easiest and fastest 3D modelling tool to use at the time and I believe it still is.

### "3d design for everybody"

April 17, 2017

5.0

1st time I heard about SKETCHUP was several years ago. I was looking for some fast sketching solution (preferable in 3d ) and search engine listed this program as near 1st position (and not a CAD). So, I clicked on the link and saw a fantastic piece of software. After some 8 or 9 years SKETCHUP is still on my computer. It's more poreful than several years before (form SKETCHUP 6, if I remember correctly), there are more materials, components and models (when 3d warehouse started it made a revolution of it's kind, enthusiast could show their models and companies could offer their products and services). Several things made me a follower/user of this program: simple to use, fast drawing, diferent type of finishing, cross-sections, user-friendly interface, diferent ways to achieve same results (by multyplaying or by dividing, by pulling or following,...), plenty of options and many special features that came during years. On of the first features was inserting a 3d object on GOOGLE EARTH (GOOGLE was a previous owner). That had a tremenduos effect and in short perid of time every city had many of landmarks made by SKETCHUP and inserted on maps. 3d warehouse was also an succesfull feature. Interesting feature, also, is "projection and perspective view". Changing this You can switch from "natural" 3d view to "geometrical" 3d view. This is MUST BE USED when You switch from designing to taking measures (hard to describe but imediately visible when used) Interesting feature, from a few version ago, is to match a photo. You simply load a photo (interior or exterior) and with help from program You model a 3d object, At the end You had a 3d model replica from photo with textures acquired from photo. If You are in real estate business, You understand what can be done regarding virtual demonstrations. Another nice feature is another warehouse - for extensions. With these addons You can have a completely different way of doing Your job, from drawing, designing or 3d printing. PRO version have some other usefull features that I like .DWG handling and several types of calculation, reporting (these are important part of my work with it) and exporting results. If You need a good sollution for 3d sketching, drawing or design, and You don't have time to learn a full CAD software this is software for You.

Pros

Simple tu use, fast drawing, starting 3d models and 3d warehouses, extensions, textures, importing of photos and materials, finishing, rendering options, drawing/sketching options, perspective changing, components and objects designing, friendly-used interface, cross-sections, active comunity,...

Cons

Many options are not visible or even expected. Without manual and (several) video tutorials many things that are simple to do You can't be done as they are not explained/offered. Switching axes sometimes is very irritating. Deleting a part of object sometimes cause un-expected results. Pushing/pulling sometimes cause small but irritating problems with surfaces.

### "Sketchup une vraie perle"

November 13, 2022

5.0

### "SketchUp - The Best Architectural Program"

June 3, 2022

5.0

Overall, for the price, reliability, and productivity that SketchUp delivers, it's completely unbeatable. It's an essential tool to keep in your toolbox and use long term. It's more efficient to use it to make houses, parts, or landscape plans than most other programs.

Pros

SketchUp has to be the best Architectural program our company uses. It's easy to learn, work with, and implement features into the design

Cons

One of the things that SketchUp is missing is a good built in rendering software. This would be ideal without going to 3rd party programs.

### "Evaluando SketchUp"

October 24, 2022

5.0

SketchUp was my first modeling software. I got really proficient at it and used to integrate it into my production workflow. Now, it is becoming obsolete.

Pros

User interface, capabilities especially for a low-barrier product

Cons

Phasing into expensive licensed software and phasing out of free version functionality. For those of us who have been using SketchUp since the beginning, it's a difficult adjustment especially when working in an industry where AutoDesk is becoming close to a monopoly with comparable tools

### "A User-Friendly 3D Modeling Tool "

March 27, 2023

5.0

As someone who has used Sketchup for several years, including as a student and professor teaching it for landscape architecture and architecture, I can say that my experience with the software has been mostly positive. One of the things I appreciate most about Sketchup is its user-friendly interface, which makes it easy to learn and use even for those with little to no experience in 3D modeling. The software's tools are intuitive and allow users to create accurate and detailed models quickly. The Warehouse feature is also a great asset, as it provides access to a vast library of pre-made 3D models that can be used in designs, saving time and effort in the modeling process. However, I have found that Sketchup can be limited in its ability to handle large-scale projects or complex models, particularly when it comes to working with vegetation or other natural elements that can slow down the software or cause it to crash.

Pros

\- Sketchup has a user-friendly interface that is intuitive and easy to learn, making it a great tool for beginners and professionals alike.- The Warehouse feature allows users to access a wide variety of 3D models, saving time and effort in the modeling process.- Sketchup is ideal for presenting design ideas to clients and stakeholders who may not understand technical drawings.- The software allows users to create floor plans, sections, elevations, and 3D models from a single drawing, streamlining the design process and saving time.

Cons

\- Sketchup can be limited in its ability to handle large-scale projects, particularly when it comes to working with vegetation or other complex models that can slow down the software or cause it to crash.- The pricing of Sketchup can be expensive, especially for those who are just starting out or working on a limited budget.- The trial version of the software is only available for one month, which may not be enough time for users to fully explore all of its features.

4.0

SketchUp is a useful tool for 3D modeling and visualization, particularly for designers who are looking for an intuitive and user-friendly software program. While it may not be suitable for designs that require high levels of precision, it offers a wide range of features and a large online community for support and inspiration.

Pros

1\. SketchUp has a user-friendly interface that makes it easy for users to learn and use the software.2. It offers a wide range of features for 3D modeling, including tools for creating and modifying objects, applying textures and materials, and rendering designs.3. It has a large online community of users who share tips, tricks, and resources, making it easy to find support and inspiration.4. It can be used in conjunction with other design software, such as AutoCAD and Revit, which makes it a useful tool for designers who work with multiple software programs.

Cons

It is primarily a surface modeler and may not be suitable for designs that require high levels of precision. It does not offer advanced parametric capabilities, which can make it difficult to make changes to designs later in the process. It SketchUp may have difficulty importing or exporting certain file types, which can be a problem for designers who need to work with other software programs.

### "SketchUp is the Ultimate! "

February 17, 2019

5.0

I absolutely love it! I use Sketchup Pro for small projects but just love the detail I can get with the program giving me a full blown idea of what my models will look like before anything has been physically constructed.

Pros

What can I say, the first time that I heard about Sketchup Pro was a few years back when I was developing a Haunted House attraction believe it or not. I needed a 3D modeling software that could help give me and idea of what it would be like to walk through and build it before anything was purchased. It allowed me to go through and find holes in the design plan that would have been very costly if I did not simulate it later down the road. The ease of use is so easy, any one from absolute beginner to expert level CAD designer can plug and play into Sketchup Pro! I also want to mention that it is a FUN product to use as well and the amount of features is incredible! From the 3D wear house to being able to make 3D renderings turn into 2D schematics is such an amazing feature. I have enjoyed using sketch pro so much that I have even taken a few online courses on how to become better and it makes the software my go-to for all my modeling needs. Anyone from small real estate firms, architectural and engineering businesses, down to the home haunter like myself, Sketch Up Pro is the one stop shop for all of your needs!

Cons

I really enjoy Sketchup Pro so there really is not a whole lot that I can say that is a problematic about it. The one thing that does stick out (and may be its only flaw) is the price tag attached to it for one license is a little steep. Now, even though I say that, the value and ROI of Sketchup Pro far surpasses the initial price tag. It really comes down to what you want to use it for, but no matter the case, it really is worth every penny that you pay for it!

### "Best and easiest software for making 3D Models."

April 30, 2022

4.0

Overall. I had a good experience with SketchUp and I am looking forward to use it in future.

Pros

The best thing about SketchUp is that it is extremely easy to draw 3D Models using the software. All the basic options like shapes, arcs, push-pull are easily available. Also other options can be added conveniently. Another good thing is that there is a 3D Warehouse which has readymade models of commonly used items. Another thing that I like is that I can easily convert a 2D outline to a 3D model using push-pull option. Also Sketchup has a higher compatibility with other CAD softwares and animation softwares.

Cons

The only thing I disliked about Sketchup is that 2D drawings are not precise and accurate. It is quite difficult to draw floor plans of buildings in Sketchup because it lacks a few important features required in 2D drawings.

### "Fast and easy 3D & 2D design software"

5.0

SketchUp-Pro is generally easy to use, fast, convenient and much reliable. It has exposed me to newer designs and has allowed me to explore architecture even more. I’ll definitely go for the program over most other competitive software.

Pros

Most designers, regardless of their skill levels, find SketchUp-Pro one of the fastest and easiest CAD software programs for both creating and editing 3D & 2D designs. I bet this is mostly because of the thousands of models present in its intuitive toolbars and 3D Warehouse. What I like the most about the program are its customizable toolbars and large icons. These two features make it easy even for beginners. The software has no house wizard, but it still makes it simple to create all sorts of designs. It grants me access to the Trimble’s 3D warehouse. The Trimble’s 3D warehouse stocks thousands of models that I may download and use. This way I have access to lots of shared files together with a growing number of designs. The Program also has other built-in features such as the animations, lighting and textures effects. The Plugins are available to serve the purpose of advanced photorealistic rendering. In addition, the program offers built-in rendering styles. The software is compatible with an array of file types such as AutoCAD’s DXF and DWF files. It allows me to use the 3D printing image files, PDF and STL file. Some useful 2D CAD features include the layer manger and text & color editing. The layer, measurement and style toolbars make editing easier. I can quickly switch between different functions and correctly apply styles faster. In addition, other features such as import capabilities, macro recordings, and setup manager make the use of the program more convenient

Cons

Although the software offers architectural tools to promote building plans, SketchUp Pro lacks the house wizard and a wall tool. These two aspects would otherwise give the software a more powerful influence on architecture.

### "Preferencias que tiene SketchUp"

November 30, 2022

5.0
