### "SketckUp is worthless and cons annual "

June 9, 2023

1.0

Pros

It was a great native app for designing and producing architectural home drawings. Now it is a limited web interface that is glitchy and often crashes.

Cons

SketchUp doesn't work. The web app is limited and crashes—a complete waste of your time.

### "Essential tool for my business"

March 20, 2018

5.0

Easy to use, and allows me to visualize the furniture before proceeding to elaborate them, and share the sketches with my clients for approval

Pros

It is perfect for drawing 3d designs, and it is not difficult to manage, I am very satisfied with this program. In my carpentry business it has become essential, I always use it to show clients how the furniture will look before it is made.

Cons

When I use Sketchup sometimes the computer becomes a bit slow, in my opinion it consumes too many resources

### "Modeling in 3d is very simple thanks to this software"

March 20, 2018

5.0

Ideal and simple to start designing in 3d

Pros

It is very easy to use, you do not need to have much knowledge to learn how to use it, you can create very precise 3d designs in a very simple way, I have used it for many years and it is one of the most used programs in my work.

Cons

I started using the free version of the software, and I had to switch to the Pro version, which is excellent, but they should add more elements to the free version for those who start in this area.

### "SketchUp is easy for users to learn and a very poweful tool if you dig more into it"

May 6, 2022

5.0

Sketchup is great and can definitely satisfy most of users. I would like to recommend it to people at every skill level.

Pros

SketchUp is soooo easy to learn compare with other modeling tools like CAD, Revit or Rhino. And it has many tools for you to polish your project by just few clicks.

Cons

Sometime it is messy to export SketchUp model into other software like AutoCAD.

5.0

Pros

### "Quick to use modelling software"

August 22, 2023

4.0

Provides us with an easy way to build 3D models for use in calculation.

Pros

It is quick to build a model and easy to learn in the first instance. It has a scripting language and ability to add custom attributes which means it can be used for multiple tasks.

Cons

Slow for big models with lots of polygons, clipping when distant from origin. The scripts can be slow to run.

### "Most user friendly 3D software"

December 14, 2019

4.0

I am an interior designer and most of my clients are visual learner. I am not great in talking but my ideas through sketchup does the talking for me. I can help them visualize their space with my 3D perspectives and animations that i am presenting to them.

Pros

Easy to use compare with other softwares. It’s not overwhelming especially for beginners. Very helpful for interior designers like me.

Cons

It’s quite expensive but i would say worth it. Price is all i could think of. I like everything about sketchup.

### "Sketchup is a Game Changer for Design"

November 30, 2020

5.0

Sketchup is an amazing tool for designers. It has fundamentally changed the way we design our products and has positively impacted our business.

Pros

Sketchup blows away any other visualization tool for design. The ability to take an idea and create it to scale is beyond any other tool on the market.

Cons

As expected, there is a learning curve and we had to spend a significant amount of time developing our skills/knowledge of the tool. It was well worth it.

### "Free, but it's gone downhill."

March 5, 2020

5.0

In general, I love SketchUp and will use it for most of my rendering needs. If you want to make fast renders quickly and for free, and if you're not making working drawings, then SketchUp is enough. There is a reason you see it on HGTV when they design kitchens and are showing the clients their ideas, but you don't see it on the corners of their working drawings.

Pros

I love the price (free) and how easy it is to use SketchUp. I currently use it to explain 3D objects to my drafting students or to explain what something will look like when we're done. I sometimes use it for demonstrating geometry concepts, too. Back when I was a draftsman for a small design-build firm, I exclusively used SketchUp for all drafting and document production (in conjunction with Microsoft Word). I am a big fan of their warehouse of items for if you are trying to populate a house with furniture or a street with cars.

Cons

A few years ago, SketchUp switched to being mostly cloud and less of a downloadable program. While this is mostly good since I can access my files on any computer with the internet, its layout changed and it is much harder to find the tools you want to use. It used to be that lines and edges were sharp and I could edit cleanly and easily in MSPaint, but the online version of SketchUp doesn't render the same way and it has made my freelancing as a draftman more difficult. Also, SketchUp is not great at generating documents and printing to scale compared to Autodesk Inventor. Lastly, they don't use true curves for cirlces and arcs which saves RAM but can be good or bad when rendering.

### "Sketchup is awesome! Its so cool to see my designs come to life!"

February 8, 2018

5.0

It is integral to my day-to-day job.

Pros

I love that I can make a realistic 3D model for my clients. If they have a specific photo, texture, or product that they want, I can put it into the model for a realistic view of what it would look like in the space. This has saved a lot of time in hand rendering.

Cons

I wish that it could handle larger files better. Whenever I try to import complicated CAD files or build a complex 3D model, it glitches more often.

### "Sketchup Pro is a extremely powerful software "

October 25, 2018

5.0

Pros

It allows interior designers like me to have a much easier job sketching our projects and selling it to our clients. We can always use their 3d Warehouse for FREE and it's full of well design models made by users. It helps analyse objects with three dimensions. Awesome compatibily with most programs and CAD

Cons

The sandbox toolbar does not meet expectations. And it's always pretty hard to make organic shapes without outside plug-ins.

### "Great software for detailed 3D models"

April 13, 2018

5.0

For anyone who can afford it and that are in the engineering or architecture industry I highly recommend it. It is such a powerful tool overall

Pros

I've used Sketchup in my 3D design elective classes and it is such a great software, which is super easy to learn, there are so many tutorials that going pro with it is really fast. Working alongside with autocad allows for excellent engineering models that sell themselves without any need for marketing.

Cons

It is really expensive and for a small university or business it can be too much to afford. It also demands lots of graphic power from the pc for it to work smoothly.

### "So easy and intuitive to use!"

December 29, 2018

5.0

3d digital modeling for architecture.

Pros

Sketchup is my favourite 3D modeling software for architecture. There are tons of great online resources including a great library of plugins and a 3D warehouse of free downloadable digital models. It is so easy and quick to use!

Cons

Sketchup is not what I would recommend for modeling curves or complex surfaces. Large projects with complex geometry get heavy and slow down significantly on my computer.

### "Amazing for CAD work"

January 5, 2024

5.0

Love it, easy to use, cost effective and presents your plans and ideas beautifully.

Pros

Very intuitive platform with a fast learning curve. The extensive library of components makes it easy to create realistic environments and it was great for designing point of sale.

Cons

They recently moved the free version to web only which is glitchy unfortunately. Much more stable on desktop.

### "Great for galleries!"

June 2, 2022

4.0

Absolutely I would recommend this for art galleries to use as you can have exact measurements in a 3D digital space to share with artists and curators to work from afar or make proposals.

Pros

I loved how the software can be used in a browser while managing to meet my expectations for downloaded applications! Great for smaller devices like tablets and laptops this way.

Cons

The browser sometimes struggles with large imports or exports but I think it's understandable since every software has its limits.

### "Excellent 3D software, light, some plugins functionality should be included in the standard software"

September 8, 2018

5.0

Excellent supportive tool for drawing; great lightweight 3D modelling software.

Pros

\- very light, can be used by almost any laptop/pc - way easier to learn than other 3D software - versatile - 3D warehouse is an amazing addition to find countless 3D models made by other users

Cons

A lot of functions that seem basic to me require a separate plugin. I'd suggest to have those all included in the standard version and do not understand why they aren't.

### "Have been using Sketchup make since college, and Pro for the last 4 years. I absolutely love it!"

March 9, 2018

5.0

It is a crucial part of my business and allows me to separate myself from most of my competition by providing accurate designs and estimates.

Pros

Ease of use, ability to learn/train on a free version of the software, frequent updates, broad library of extensions that add functionality.

Cons

Not a con necessarily, I just would like to be able to generate more photo-realistic renderings, and if Sketchup added a proprietary extension to do that, it would be great.

### "3D modeling software that is very easy to use. "

January 16, 2018

5.0

Pros

This is one of the best 3D modeling software out there for the money. Amazingly easy to learn and use. Produces great graphics and when working with their Layout software can be used to create construction documents.

Cons

There used to be more elements in the free version of the software, and it seems more and more items get added to the Pro version with each release. So the Pro version is getting more and more necessary.

### "very practical tool and can be used very easy with full tutorial design in 3 dimensions."

March 14, 2018

5.0

deliver images of designs created for clients and gives them a clearer view of the infrastructure when it is constructed

Pros

modeling in three dimensions of easy download with many tutorial can design homes, figures in three-dimensional view and generate render, you can import files in AutoCAD that facilitate the lift in three dimensions with greater precision than the import area images that it surrounds the sites where the elaborated design will be executed, remaining almost real to the posterior view of the design

Cons

The level of position at the beginning of the creation of the drawing without a template or file imported from AutoCAD is not very good you have to have a lot of experience to be able to make straight lines and when performing rendes requires equipment with good RAM above 2 gb
